The zips on the trainer shoe wouldn’t pull up. They were extremely stiff but also my arch seemed too high for them to cover, although I haven’t had this problem before. I love Gabour shoes so this won’t stop me buying more as they are so comfy but I’m particularly disappointed because I now need to go out to the post office and PAY to return them!! I will buy them via John Lewis as they pay for returns.

Ordered what was the third pair of the same shoes, both shoes had dimples on the side. Very disappointed. The box they came in was bashed and torn, looked like these shoes had been returned before.

We do source items from both our warehouse and our stores, where they may have been on display or tried on. The shoes I received had been tried on several times or worn, they were scuffed and the soles were marked, (apparently they were sent from the warehouse without being checked - ref: email from Nicole at Clinkard). These are expensive shoes and I think for those shoes to have been sent to me was disgraceful, who wants to pay £85.00 to receive shoes that other people have worn?

Delivery service very poor - Royal Mail tracking service slow and not up to date. Christmas present for my wife delivered on 27th December! She’s not pleased with me.

Thank you for your review. Our guaranteed delivery for Christmas ended on the 19th of December and your order was placed on the 20th. Although your order was processed for dispatch on the 21st therefore showing you the tracking number, this was the weekend and not picked up by Royal Mail until the 23rd. With the free delivery service that we offer, we allow up to 5 working days to dispatch so your order went out quickly. We do have a next day service for £5.99 but this was not chosen. We are sorry to hear that your order was not delivered in time for Christmas, and hope that your wife was pleased with the item that she received once it arrived. Still waiting for my boots when a date you gave me was the 17th December ive contacted my delivery and they said they havrent received them yet not vey happy at all.

Unfortunately the item has somehow not been scanned and is missing in transit. I have only received one pair of the boots I've ordered as yet, but the ones I did receive were not fit for purpose. The sole was literally hanging off one of the boots, and the other the sole was loose. The two pairs got separated and one was sent as requested to a collect plus point, but the other one was sent by Royal Mail. So as I work full time, I am not sure when I will get time to collect! So poor delivery arrangements and no quality control. It was a total waste of time shopping for Gabor boots with Charles Clinkard.

Your order should have been posted together in one package however due to an error in dispatch one product was not sent. As we are unable to use the Collectplus label twice we arranged to send the missing pair to your home address. They may have been tried on or on display however there should be no signs of wear and the quality of the item should of course be up to the highest standard. Box arrived looking used. Shoes had some white stuff on it ( small piece of plastic?). Had to pay for the return.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that the box was damaged upon arrival. It is there to protect the shoes and can get damaged, but we can change to a plain box if it was damaged before posting, I am sorry if this was not done. With regard to the return of the shoes, I can see that they were returned as too large. We do deliver free of charge and ask customers to cover postage back or take to a Charles Clinkard store where they can arrange a refund of your order. We do not sell second hand items, however the shoes may have been tried on in store, or returned by someone who had ordered two sizes for fit and returned one to us. The website took my order twice and double payment from my credit card. There was only one email confirmation. Unfortunately, I didn’t realise until they landed on my doorstep! More importantly, it cost me £22.98 in return postage costs as I had to ensure the total value of the returns in 2 separate packages. BEWARE of return postage costs with this company. If your order for size and there not suitable it can be very expensive. Surely in this day and age a company of this size should have a nominal postage charge on return or more to the point non at all. There shoes are hardly budget buys?? I would never order directly from Garbor Shoes online again.

With regards to returns there are cost effective methods on returning: The Post Office-This does depend on the service you opt for, charges can vary for size of packaging. Collectplus-£4.49 for up to 10kg in weight, ideal for larger items and multiple orders. The link for this is included on our invoice and also https://www.collectplus.co.uk/charlesclinkard. I received an e mail today to tell me my shoes were returned and I will be refunded shortly I am extremely disappointed I did not ask for my purchase to be returned I asked for them to be delivered today and I gave them my phone number no contact was made with me I will never use this website again Jo Heffernan

The item was returned by DPD to us as address was incorrect and they were unable to make contact. The criticism relates only to the delivery service and in no way to Gabor Shoes where the staff were very helpful and apologetic. The DPD drive sent three texts each time saying "sorry we missed you" when there had been someone at home all the time of the allotted dates and times. It transpired they had gone to incorrect houses as per photographs. I am still awaiting delivery of the shoes ordered, now by Royal Mail and repeat this complaint has nothing to do with Gabor Shoes direct.

You don’t offer exchanges for the US, and the post amount to send them back, was half the cost of the shoe!! I’m hoping you’re willing to exchange them, vs giving me a refund.

We offer free standard UK delivery dispatched within 5 working days, however do ask customers to pay towards the cost of the return. You can of course return to a Charles Clinkard store if one is near to you, however there are cost efficient ways of sending back your order. Although we do recommend a tracked service, there are different levels of service and cover you can choose at the Post Office when returning. You can return via Collectplus which is £4.49 for up to 10KG and is ideal for larger items or multiple orders, the link to this option can be found in the returns section of our website. I love Gabor shoes. I always buy Gabor... decided to try online for the first time, as I know the Gabor sizes that fit me. Arrived, fair enough didn't fit... but didn't expect to have to pay almost 10% of the price on the return!! 😱 Never again I'm afraid.

Both pairs of Gabor boots sent to me were not in good condition - the first pair had been worn & marked. Same with replacement pair. No labels attached. I have ordered Gabor boots from other websites & they have always arrived in excellent new condition with labels attached. Refund requested of £99.

End of line ex stock item. Worn and damaged. Backs creased from trying on. Looked secondhand. Full price paid. Appalling. Returned item. Awaiting replacement pair (another ex stock pair) hopefully in new condition this time. I feel they should be discounted as end of line and the hassle it has caused due to delay. I feel let down and annoyed.
