I was absolutely appalled at the cost to return 2 pairs of shoes that didn't fit. £13.35. There is no Charles Clinkard store near me. I will never order from Gabor again.

Received wrong size boots. Tried to send email but would not go through. Needed boots for a trip so intended to return once I am home. Paid additional £3.99 for quicker delivery which did not meet deadline. Intend to return boots and expect full refund to include postage. Very disappointed as I have had 2 pairs of these boots in the past.

I ordered 4 pair of shoes. One pair had been previously worn. Suede on the toes and sides of the shoes was worn. Sides of the shoes were also dirty. I contacted customer service and was asked to provide photos. I provided photos and the response I received from Jack was that the suede was damaged in transit and I should use a suede brush to repair the shoes. I find it outrageous that the Charles Clinkard provides such poor service. I will not order from this company again.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about your recent experience. I have reviewed the conversation you had with customer services I can understand why you're unhappy. My colleague was trying to explain to you that some types of suede can appear faded, particularly if the nap (the tiny fibers on the surface) have been flattened or marked. This can happen sometimes when they've been in the box a little while or in transit. However, brushing suede with a suede brush can restore its appearance by lifting the nap and removing dust or dirt. That said, our warehouse should have inspected the items and brushed them prior to dispatch to prevent you from having to address this yourself. As you’re overseas, we believed offering the option to try resolving this at home might be more convenient than arranging a return. I hope you will accept my apologies for the confusion and inconvenience caused, and that the explanation above provides clarity and encourages you to consider shopping with us again in the future. I always buy Gabor shoes for work. I'm on my feet all day, so absolute comfort for me is essential. Never had an issues with there shoes before, but these are that uncomfortable that I cannot wear them. Really disappointed as they cost me £95.00.

Thank you for your review. We do offer a full year to return any items that are unworn. If you have only tried within the home we would be happy to accept them back if they are as new. Unfortunately if you have worn them outside we would not be able to do accept them back. Requested ful price (£95) pair of sandles. What came was a pair of sandals in a bashed up box, very overused tissue paaper wrappinh anf shoes obvious worn with suede rubbed off over the heels and imprint of feet on both shoes indicating had been worn previously. Not a good advert for Charles Clinkard and I dont think I wil be sourcing shoes from you again.

Terrible experience. I received boots that had been returned and were worn. I also purchased the same pair of trainers twice as I loved the style and they both came apart in the same place. I emailed and received to reply re the trainers and included them in a video of the boots that arrived worn and the trainer issue wasn’t addressed. I have now returned the boots and turned down an offer of a 20% discount given they were in such a terrible condition.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you feel that the boots had been worn. We do get returns back where people may have tried them on for fit, but all should be checked upon return to ensure that they are not worn, and again checked if they are being sent out for an order. I apologise that on this occasion it seems we have let you down. With regard to the trainers, I cannot see a previous order from us for these, if you have an order number or receipt if bought from store, please do get in touch again so that we can look into this for you. If you bought them elsewhere, you would need to get in touch with the retailer you bought them from, or you can contact the Gabor agents for the UK on 01642 677222. I do hope that this helps. Sadly my recent purchase is being returned ...when I'm sent a postage label I have used Garbor for years and have never experienced poor quality workmanship in the making of your shoes They were not advertised as seconds or in a sale and the price didn't imply this either but the shoes were very poorly made making them unwareable

Purchased a pair of trainers that have rubbed my heels. Never have I purchased a pair of trainers that have rubbed my heals. I expect this from some shoes, but not trainers. Contacted customer services who said they cannot offer an exchange or refund as the trainers have been worn. Very disappointing experience for a pair of trainers that cost £115. I have purchased trainers previously from Gabor with no issues. Will take my business elsewhere in future.

In an effort to avoid such issues, we offer an extensive returns period of 365 days that allows you to try shoes at home to detect problems before wearing outside. Once worn outside, unfortunately, we cannot accept them back. In most cases with continued wear, the material will soften and the skin will become accustomed to the shoes, ensuring future comfort. I am sorry you are not happy with your purchase, if you believe the issue has been caused by a manufacturing fault, you can return them to us for an inspection. I have not yet received the order as DPD keep messing up the delivery it should hopefully arrive in two days this will mean that it has taken 10ams for delivery. I like the shoes but DPD are useless.

The reason seems to be at the beginning that there was no house number so they did not know where to deliver. As this was resolved (thank you) , we would expect them to deliver at the earliest convenience. If you do not have your order by mid week this coming week, please let us know and we will arrange for it to be returned and send out a new order with Royal Mail for you. Going forward, if you prefer Royal Mail, if you let us know any order numbers in the future, we can add a dispatch note to send only with Royal Mail. There are some shoes that are available in a larger size, we have to order direct from Gabor in Germany, so if you have a style that you would like us to check for you, please do not hesitate to contact us and we can let you know if we can get hold of them for you. You can contact us on 0330 005 0230 (calls charged at local rate). We would find out what style it is you would like to check and call you back. If the shoe is available and you would like to go ahead, we would take a payment and order from Germany, once it arrives, we would forward the shoes to you. This process usually takes around 2 weeks. Very disappointed when I received my white Wisdom trainers. One had clearly been tried on or worn. The laces were discoloured a label had been removed and the sole was dirty. Contacted Gabor, who agreed to pay for return postage. These were expensive shoes, I would have expected better.

Shoes may have been tried on within one of our stores, or if a customer has ordered 2 sizes to check for fit, and a pair is returned, then the returned item will go back into sale. However upon return and again at dispatch, the shoes should be quality checked. We have let you down on this occasion and for this I am genuinely sorry for your inconvenience and disappointment. I have yet to receive my shoes. They were to be delivered to my home. As I wouldn't be in at the time of delivery I asked them to be taken to a local collection point and was told they were there for collection,they never reached that point. Only having phoned customer services did I know they were returned to your depot.They advised me they could be delivered to my work place but 3 days later no message about when I should expect to receive them . Normally lovely product but very disappointed with this service.

I bought some of your shoes from Charles Clinkard although actually thought I had bought them from yourselves. They are beautiful to look at but have hurt my feet & rubbed the skin from my two toes. I have reached out to Charles Clinkard but the service is beyond poor. I understand that I have worn them outside only ONCE because I simply can’t wear them again. I am so disappointed.

Thank you for your review. Charles Clinkard shoes have licence to run the Gabor website in the UK as well as their own website. Gabor is a German Company. The Terms and Conditions on both sites advise that if you would like to try the shoes on in the comfort of your home to check for fit, then we are happy for you to wear them to see if they are a comfortable shoe for you. You have up to one year to return shoes to us so long as not worn outside. If shoes however are deemed to be comfortable and you decide that they are a good fit and wear them outside, then we would not accept them back as this is not a manufacturing fault, but a fitting issue. Once your skin heals, if you wear them again around the home and 'wear them in' you may find that they become more comfortable for you as the leather warms and stretches.
