“The sausages were not as large, or as tasty as we had hoped and the skins were quite tough.”

“The baby back ribs were expensive for what they were ... the joint of beef was expensive for what is was ... a bag of stewing steak was the shocker £7 for what I consider a handful if that of meat ... it’s a shame as I’ve had to change my local supplier due to it folding ... the website and first order discount was promising but just because it’s looks good doesn’t mean it is ... big shame”

“Bought a T-Bone steak. Disappointed with the amount of meat on the fillet side of the joint. I know it’s not an exact science, but had I seen the steak in a butcher’s I wouldn’t have chose it. Flavour was good.”

“I think the meat is good, but they haven’t mastered it yet. I was shocked at their less positive reviews other week but now I can see why. The packaging isn’t great, hate the polystyrene box it comes in. Last delivery some items had opened but these were replaced. My latest delivery yesterday included some gammon with no use by date, I am told it is 21 days after delivery but the label must have fallen off. That to me is a bit flaky, and no what I expect when buying a piece of £28 gammon which is the size of my fist. The last order had the frozen flat iron steaks which said May 2020, again apparently this was fine but eating steak that’s 8 month frozen, made me also feel a bit funny. They did replace the steaks. I am told the gammon is 21 days after delivery, but I am funny about meat and use by dates, and without a label it’s off putting so will probably have to feed this to the dog. After spending £170 in the past few weeks I think it might be time to try field and flower. I liked Farmison due to being semi local.”

“Packaging of the sausage version of haggis was impressive. Huge box, straw and cold sachets kept the tiny sausage cold and fresh . However, the texture of the haggis was totally wrong and inedible I’m Afraid to say . I feel there was not enough grains in it to keep it loose .. the texture was sticky pate like. Such a shame”

“Easy to use website. The delivery was as stated in the order and arrived well packed in a cool box. I cooked the meat in accordance with the instructions but unfortunately we fount the meat to be rather tough and chewy. Perhaps it would have turned out better if it had been slow cooked. On the whole we were disappointed with the produce as we had been eager for some time to try a joint of heritage beef rather than the usual mediocre beef from the supermarket. Please don't be put off trying Farmison products as Im sure they can't all be the same its just a shame ours didn't turn out as we expected.”

“OK but not much to shout about tbh. Service was OK as was the Flat-Iron steak. THe sausages weren't anything to write home about and the Hanger steak was stringy and tough. Won't be bothering going back.”

“Arrived quickly, was well packaged and still at a good temperature on arrival. We slow cooked the short ribs of beef but still found them to be quite tough and a little tasteless. Wouldn’t hurry to order them again sadly”

“The pork was really good, slow cooked it for 8 hours on the big green egg. The wings weren’t up to standards and all flavour was lost by the time it came to eat them. Not big in size either compared to other butchers.”

“Most of what I bought was good but splashed out on a porterhouse steak at £27 for my husband it was tough and inedible so very disappointed also a leg of mutton which was very tough so don’t think I will order again”

“The gammon had too much fat and rind removed so not as succulent as some. Good taste. Pigs in blankets were excellent. Streaky bacon disappointing as tough. Very short use by date”

“Rather disappointed, so far, tried the oxtail cooked in wine for over four and a half hours and the meat was still tough and very fatty despite cutting some of it off the very large pieces. Chicken Kiev lacked flavour and I thought the bacon was good. Haven’t used anything else yet.”

“Perfect Delivery and easy to order. The meat was great too. You can really taste and smell the difference. Knocked a star off for the price...I do understand this is premium quality but even so, it’s little expensive. Took off another star as some of the products I bought for Christmas were dated 24th Dec which meant no bacon or chicken over Christmas which was very frustrating. I am sure others won’t experience this and I would still recommend”

“We have ordered a fair bit and spent a lots of money this Christmas at Farmison & Co, found out the products are nice and well presented, but nothing really to shout out about. The pigs in blankets were bordering on grey with just two days left on them, didn’t like the bread sauce at all, the cranberry sauce was extremely sour. The stuffing was delicious as was the turkey. Over all would not buy again next time as really expensive, more advertising than actual great products. Next Christmas would rather support our own local butcher , much cheaper and great quality.”

“The meat is of good quality but the cooking instructions on your website really let us down. I got the Christmas stuffed duck out of the oven 30 mins before your guide suggested but it was still really overcooked. It spoiled our Christmas dinner.”
