“Delivery and packaging - 1st class. The meat - I had a rolled forerib of dexter. The meat was delicious. Truly delicious. To look at the joint before cooking there was the right amount of fat - a good even cap and marbling. However, when I sliced the meat, there was a huge amount of fat on the inside. As the host, I was embarrassed. It wasnt in the scale of 'there is a fair amount of fat in a forerib', this was more like one of those arctic rolls from the 1970's - a small amount of meat surrounding a load of fat. Now - I get that in a joint, there can sometimes be a load of fat, and theres nothing can be done. But this was a butchered joint. To my mind the butcher knew this fatberg was there and hid it. So - the joint for 10 people - well it only had to serve 5 and provide sandwiches for my packed lunch for a couple of days. There wasn't enough meat for the sandwiches. So - the meat was delicious. Look, the fat tasted good too, but the amount ... it wasnt a great 1st experience of your shop. I was really excited and I feel let down.”

“Arrived packaged well meat ok over rated in reviews in my opinion yes it's better than tesco but it's expensive I paid £20 for a bit of pork that was nearly all fat and my local butchers knocks spots off this for value and there is not enough difference in taste to make me try this again so back to my local it's made me realise how good my local butchers is if farminson reviews are anything to go by So all in all ok over priced and under delivered also didn't have an item rabbit that I ordered so replaced with burgers 4 for £10;50 which was nice but costco just as nice and you can add to them if you so choose and again not good enough value I expect excellent value and a great product to get my business online and you fell way short on value and busted missed the great on quality and service shame however I can see you doing well with a massive warehouse see below 1.3kg the meat would serve 2 /3 and when cooked as suggested was very fatty as the this didn't have enough time before the meat was cooked terrible”

“The mutton shoulder was disappointing but all the rest of the meat so far has been excellent, ordered two times now and both orders were a bit of a nightmare but the customer service was excellent”

“Sometimes the packs seem very small and the weights vary quite a lot, but more importantly the quality of the meat is not so good. Just recently I have had to throw it out cause it can smell after it’s been defrosted. Maybe I should cook it the minute it’s defrosted. Still buy from them!”

“Used farmison before and have been great. However, this time we got the hangar steak and fillet. The fillet, as per usual, was brilliant. The hangar steak though was one of the toughest steaks, or even meat in general, I have ever ate. I've had hangar steaks a few times at restaurants and have always been tender and easy to eat. This was a disappointment though.”

“Only just acceptable. Ordered 4 packs of back smoked bacon again one pack extremly large fat above the meat which I had to cut off before cooking. Acceptable because never had a problem before so let it go. Packaging excellent as usual. Thank you.”

“I have mixed feelings about this one.. Its pricy for what it is.. Marbling on the meat is nothing special to supermarkets.. I've tried new york strip.. Rib eye and picanha.. All aberdeeb angus and was not blown away with the quality of it..”

“Just got my delivery today not tried anything yet first time ordering with this company, I use another online butcher but thought give it a try not very impressed with the sirloin very marbled right thro don't think I will try from this butcher again”

“Bit disappointed really. Quality seems ok but the slab bacon was sold as 2x pieces and is actually 4 which will mess up my recipe. The unrolled brisket is really, really thin, probably only good for burnt ends, so anyone wanting to make some nice sliced bbq brisket beware. Rib of beef, which I know has a lot of fat, this is particularly so. Won’t use again I don’t think, will go back to ,y old butchers.”

“I ordered a mixed beef pack, chicken Kiev’s and Indian meatballs. Up to now the only part of it we have tried is the chicken Kiev and these were really nice. The mince beef however is awful. When I placed the order I explained to the lady that I like really lean mince, I was told it was 10% fat. I used it to make a shepherds pie and I had to throw it as every mouth full had fat and grisel. The other pack has also now gone in the bin. I was hoping to find somewhere local that we could buy really lean mince, unfortunately not so was a waste of money. I am hoping the rest of the meat I bought is better.”

“Donald Russel seems better value for money. I bought the bacon and it's transparent in so far as it's so thin you can see through it. Tastes fine. But I'd rather have 1 slice less for the other rashers to be a bit thicker 🤔 The beef ribs I cooked in a sous vide for 36 hours and then on a charcoal BBQ and they tasted mighty fine. But no different to the ones I could buy from the local butcher. Not disappointed but not raving about it either. Also the packaging looks so environmentally unfriendly. A huge polystyrene box filled with straw and ice.”

“The two lamb joints were no better than those from Tesco at half the price. The marinated steak had too much hard fat and was extremely tough. I had to slow cook it in the end to make it edible. Sorry, but not great and too expensive.”

“Brisket with Texan rub was exceptional! However, I cannot place another order from you until you do something about the packaging. Having to put a huge polystyrene box in the landfill is not cool. These days it's not necessary, there are plenty of alternatives, polystyrene is not biodegradable.”
