I broke down and tried all contact numbers for this company for 3 hours straight, no answer, no messages, nothing! My wife and 4 children under 9 had to come and collect me in sub zero temperatures and the roads were extremely dangerous given the snow and blizzards that afternoon. Spoke to to them the following week to be told they had their phone lines changed that day, emailed them also and have had no reply.

We apoligise that you experienced issues in contacting us. We have indeed upgraded our telephone system recently and all member we emailed in advance of this and given an alternate number to call in the event of any outage. Rest assured this was a one time event and usual service was resumed after a period of 4 hours. Regards Emergency Assist

I put 18 month old petrol into a half full tank in my wifes car. Ths car was running perfectly well before I did this, so I assumed that the fuel was too old and 1 should not have done this. I have home start as well as fuel drainage so I contacted your any for assistance. I can quite easily drain the fuel myself but as I had paid for this service I thought id leave it to your engineer. a guy came round to assist but all I got was him turning over the engine endlessly. fuel was getting through, it did start momentarley but ran lumpy. he than used my diagnostic machine, but this showed no codes. he didn't think it was the old fuel that was causing this to happen, but the injectors may be at fault. I fail to see that this was the answer but agreed to book somebody in who he recommended to get this car started. He then left. I am only pleased that this problem occurred in the middle of no where, because It is not my car, but my wifes.. I expected more from your company but the 'service' she's got is way below your competitors are offering. I just hope that when I get this car functioning I don't have any other breakdowns, because I have had negative results right from the initial phone call to the so called mechanic that came round. this car has done only 20000 miles that's probably the reason you only take younger cars and not ones older. However it seems you cant even get the younger one going.

Had to use this service i rang the number and explained the problem with my car. they sent a recovery truck to my house to collect my car but the driver couldn't tell me were he was taking my car so i refused to let them take it. i will not be renewing and my only advice is to avoid.

I have had this policy for years, the one time I needed them for a jump start I was told my vehicle was too close to the house. I asked if I could upgrade, they said no, I asked if there was anything I could do to get my vehicle started, they said no there was nothing. They were useless, I have recommended all my friend to do what I have done and go to Green Flag, they are professional, they know how to treat customers.

I was travelling yesterday on my own from Redditch to Whitchurch Bristol in heavy snow showers. Stopped to clean windows opened bonnet to check water in the washer and could not realise the bonnet called you for assistance and was told I had to pay 98 pound call out. I am discussed that I got no help. I am a lady in my mid 70s traveling alone and thought I was covered. I could not drive a car with the bonnet open so why is this not classed as a broke down. I am disgusted with your service. I

I reported my car broken down they were under the impression that the car had broken down before I took out the cover with you and wanted to charge me £92.00 So now it’s your loss I’ve cancelled it and gone with Greenflag who came out and got my car started because it had a flat battery.

Terrible comunication. My elderly mother had to wait hours for help. Problem allegedly fixed but it wasnt, refused to come out agin without paying nearly £100. Rude call centre staff, that's if you can get them to actually answer the phone.

Absolutely shocking service. My policy was automatically renewed when I 100% never gave continuous authority. Customer services kept hanging up the phone and did not want to help. Payment has been taken from my card. I will be taking this further.

I had to phone your admin department a day called at 2pm on a Monday afternoon. It took 10 mins for my call to be answered. This is too long! B

Sadly the only time I needed help was when your phones went down for a few days. If I had been further from home I would not have renewed. However, I have renewed my cover in the hope that this will not happen again or that you have now provided some emergency cover in that event.

I received someone else's policy details via my email!!!! Not good. Sent an email to emergency assist about their lack of client confidentiality - no reply!!!! NOT GOOD!!!!!!

Shocking customer service. I purchased the breakdown cover for my 19 yr old daughter - I have purchased additional breakdown with another company for both myself and my daughter due to the shocking service I received. When my car broke down I believed the issue to be the starter motor - the contractor who attended the breakdown was adamant that it was the battery - I questioned this diagnoses and asked that the car be turned of and restarted to check that the issue was the starter motor - the engineer from edgertintons was adamant it was the battery. Took the vehicle to have the battery replaced the next day and purchased a new battery only to find out that the issue was the starter motor. When I put the call through to have the car taken to SAC alternators was charged a further £98 to have the car taken to there premises. The contractor/engineer from Mansfield who assisted on this call out was very efficient and straight away diagnosed the issue as the starter motor and the engineer was really helpful. However the same cannot be said about James in the in the call center. James made it clear that he was the most senior person in the business apart from the owner and what ever he said was final - I mentioned to James that I was not happy with paying the additional £98 due to the mis diagnoses by the engineer. I requested how I make a complaint and James told me to look at the back page of my contract. When I tried to book the 2nd call out for which I had to pay , James put the phone down on me. DISGUSTING SERVICE!

I'm actually about to write official complain about it! Your service was very poor! I rang first time around 05:40 and they told me that you working just from 06:00!! that I have to rang again after 6:00!! I rang again 06:03 and operator told me that it will take 60-90 min. till service man will come to me.. that's quite long period don't you think? He came after 108 min. sot He was 18 min late anyway!! I spoke to him and he told me that he just start his shift at 7:00 so you was waiting and wasting MY time from 06:03 - 07:00 just to wait for a guy to start his shift?? He was kind and helped me in less then 5 minutes. But I as waiting too long for him! And let's see your condition, so if I'm just not wait and go to work so you will charge me £98.40? You was late so I wan't now compensation from you £98.40! I will go with this further, I have all calls recorded and pictures with the time when your operator arrived. Regards Lubomir Felber

I was driving on the m6 motorway when my warning light came on so i stopped the car and rang your company. I was told the only option that i had was 2 have a breakdown vehicle recover the vehicle to my home at a cost of £115.00. The woman that i spoke to gave me no alternative but to pay the money or i would have been left there ! I thought the whole idea of breakdown cover was to have roadside assistance by a mechanic but since speaking to one of your managers he has informed me that you only send mechanics for punctures and flat batteries ! I feel very dissapointed and let down by you !

I could not use Emergency Assist or rather I did and paid for it all myself with your staff making up the costs on their fingers and toes.....disgusting!! They eventually sent out a recovery vehicle for me after wasting about 3 hours with me by the roadside by saying and contradicting each other on every call. My payment went from £98 to £334 to get back to Dorset over that time....If your calls are recorded I could take you court as the furst guy Pedro stated £198 to Dorset as first 25 miles free.......I sat and tried to get cheaper but when I went back to confirm I need recovering they said minimum of £334. In the end a journey of 25 miles cost me £170.......scandalous....
