I made a home start callout at 11.27am yesterday. I was advised due to a busy period someone will be with me in 90 mins. I was very understanding about the situation. I again called back at 1.30pm, 2hrs later and was advised rudely that the updated time is 2.30pm. I said that's 3 hrs and the approx waiting time on the website is 45mins but I do understand unforseen circumstances. I stressed I had no calls or updates about the situation. She was sure someone will be with me by 2.30pm but was not advised about the drivers whereabouts. I again rang at 3.15pm because no one had arrived. I was advised there is someone on route and will be there by 3.30ish. That made me furious, that's 4 hrs!!! I've had breakdown for over 17yrs and never had such a bad experience and poor service. The driver arrived and said "I'm sorry I don't know much about Saab and I was told to do a tyre change. I need to call my mechanic" I specifically rang for a home start. At this point I did not want him to touch my car, he didn't even try to jump start it. I called my local mechanic who was now free to come out and he plugged his battery meter and said the battery is dead. He also checked after starting my car that the alternator was fine. A whole day wasted waiting.

Hi, Thank you for your comments. The policy does not cover pre-existing faults with the vehicle, so if one has occurred during the 48 hour inception period, this will obviously be the case when the cover comes into force. Attendance will be refused to this given issue until such time evidence is received that remedial action is taken. Regards 2Gether Motor Breakdown Team

I felt very disappointed in the service! I had to make a second call out for the same fault, and although the fault was with the garage, I was still alone and stranded on a motorway junction in need of recovery, However to be recovered by yourselves would have cost me an extra £159. While I now understand this was in the small print, your policy in this matter put me in a very difficult and unnecessary situation. I found the extra fees to be excessive and unaffordable, Fortunately a friend was passing who was able to assist in getting my car to a safe place, I also as a result had to put on other people and disrupt their day in order to sort out the problem, which they were were willing to do. I would also like to point out the stress created by the amount of adverts. Were I to write a comedy scetch, I could do no better than to have an 'emergency' help line with 15 mins of adverts at the beginning. If you are reading this I'm sure you can empathize with how I feel. Having your helpline in our car gives me no reassurance whatsoever.

Ruth, Thank you for your comments. Whilst we apologise that you feel let down by the service, as you highlight, the policy wording specifically excludes second call outs for a repeat fault where no action, or inadequate action, has been taken as in this instance. We hope that the initial attendance was to your liking and that this provides reassurance as to the quality of the service. Regards 2Gether Motor Breakdown Team

Not a bad experience as such .I just cannot rate any higher than a 1 as I have been asked for review feedback within72 hours of buying an insurance policy which is never tested until you need it. Pointless asking for feedback at this stage. Purely humouring you by replying. I am READY now for the future bombarding of additional emails selling and asking me for things. "sigh"

Mr Crowe, Thank you for your feedback. Whilst we do ask for feedback initially, the invitation to do so states that it might be claim related or if not to do with the purchasing process to ensure what you required was to hand or any improvements we can make. We hope we never have to, but we do also contact clients post claim for feedback, as you will be able to see from some of the reviews. Rest assured we shall not be contacting you. Very poor, as I gained nothing from my call out, other than to give a local garage my business which cost me £50. 2Gether would not allow a mechanic to come back 48 hours later just to start my car. Rubbish service. Well, actually no service!!

Mr Caunter, Thank you for your comments. We note that your vehicle would not start with the likely cause being a flat battery. Your vehicle was recovered to a garage to effect a repair as per the policy wording. With regard to reattendance, if you wish to make a complaint, please email us at complaints@2gi.co.uk, Regards 2Gether Motor Breakdown Team

not impressed ! I rang you yesterday to start breakdown cover for 3 cars and was told my policy and receipt of purchase would be sent to me immediately. As yet - almost 24 hours later - I am still waiting !! I shall now ring you to complain about this , if I am not satisfied with the outcome I shall ask for my money back. Mrs M Newman

Mr Aust, Thank you for your comments. Our terms and conditions, which you have to adhere to before evening obtaining an initial quotation, make clear that within 14 days if cancelled we will charge a £10 fee. Costs are still incurred by us in setting up a policy, irrespective of time on cover, so hence why this is the case. Regards 2Gether Motor Breakdown Team

Mr Bastock, Thank you for your email. Apologies your documents were not received in the initial instance or subsequently. These have now been resent manually to you so you should be in receipt of these shortly. Rest assured the delivery of documentation is by no means a reflection on the standards, and customer driven focus, that our attendance provides and what we pride ourselves on. Myself and my partner took out breakdown cover with 2Gether recently and had to use this morning as my car failed to start. At first everything went smoothly up until the guy from Egertons recovery turned up. The first thing I was told was "I'm not sure what I'm going to do if I can't start your car as I been given this. A huge HGV truck and never in all my years of driving have I seen such a thing. After using a battery pack to try to jump start my battery (with no luck) he decided to try with the jump leads from a HGV truck which again didn't work.! Funnily enough the guy had mentioned his boss had walked out this previous Friday and no one knew what they were doing! This company didn't live up to there means and wouldn't except responsibility for recovering my vehicle! I do not recommend this company at all and their customer service and management response was appalling!!!!

My car was struggling to start today because of low power battery. I have purchased a breakdown insurance from "2Gether" but when I called for their assistance they asked me to pay an additional £98.40 so they would help me to jump start the car. The insurance agreement states "Breakdown: The inability to use a Vehicle as a result of electrical / mechanical failure, damage caused by puncture of road tyres, flat battery which renders the vehicle completely immobilised." ... yet, these guys refused to assist me until I pay the £98.40. Avoid.

Mr Todd, Of the two emails received, one will have contained the information for you to login into your account and retrieve the documents if required, whilst the other would have contained said documents as attachments, one of which being the schedule of cover outlining the requested information. If you require these to be resent please advise. 2Gether Motor Breakdown Team

Orpington Call to use 'Home start' as my daughter's car wouldn't start. Wanted £90+ to send a breakdown vehicle.. Reason given was that my daughter may have drained the battery when she was cleaning the car?? More of less accused me of fraud as she only took out the cover a week ago. I did tell them that car has been cleaned before without battery going flat! But supervisor wouldn't budge. Apparently it was my daughter's fault for not turning off the inside light when she was hoovering her little Corsa.. This was even before reason for non starting was even identified!! My advice.. Dont let the cheap initial cost sway you.. What you pay is what you get.. I have since cancelled the policy which cost me £10 but still worth it for peace of mind because I would hate for my daughter to be stuck some where and then having to turn to this company for help.

Mr George, Thank you for your comments. We regret you feel this way regarding the service and product you purchased, however under Section B of the policy wording issued to you, it states: "The following is NOT covered: Lights, radio, chargers left on resulting in a flat battery" Unfortunately, even though unintentional, if your daughter was hoovering her car, the internal light left on for a period of time which resulted in a flat battery, this would fall under the above exclusion. Our policy wordings clearly state the benefits and exclusions accordingly and would have been made available for you to view prior to purchase. Regards 2Gether Motor Breakdown Team
