Shocking customer service. I purchased the breakdown cover for my 19 yr old daughter - I have purchased additional breakdown with another company for both myself and my daughter due to the shocking service I received. When my car broke down I believed the issue to be the starter motor - the contractor who attended the breakdown was adamant that it was the battery - I questioned this diagnoses and asked that the car be turned of and restarted to check that the issue was the starter motor - the engineer from edgertintons was adamant it was the battery. Took the vehicle to have the battery replaced the next day and purchased a new battery only to find out that the issue was the starter motor. When I put the call through to have the car taken to SAC alternators was charged a further £98 to have the car taken to there premises. The contractor/engineer from Mansfield who assisted on this call out was very efficient and straight away diagnosed the issue as the starter motor and the engineer was really helpful. However the same cannot be said about James in the in the call center. James made it clear that he was the most senior person in the business apart from the owner and what ever he said was final - I mentioned to James that I was not happy with paying the additional £98 due to the mis diagnoses by the engineer. I requested how I make a complaint and James told me to look at the back page of my contract. When I tried to book the 2nd call out for which I had to pay , James put the phone down on me. DISGUSTING SERVICE!
