Delivery of my item I requested that should nobody be at home the parcel be left in porch as safe place. I was disappointed to return on Thursday at noon to a card from Royal Mail stating they had taken back to depot as nobody in. Unable to collect from them for a further 24 hours and as I needed the shoes to attend a 70th Birthday trip away that evening, very unhappy with this service. You should not use Royal Mail if your parcels need a signature, no point your customers adding delivery instructions ! I had to go without my shoes which caused great inconvenience and material distress, got the outfit handbag but no shoes!!

Hello, Thankyou for your review. We are sorry to hear your parcel was not left for you. When your item was dispatched the quickest service was selected and the parcel was sent via Royal Mail. Royal Mail, if a signature is required for the delivery will not leave a parcel unless a prior agreement has been made with them. As we receive a high volume of orders, it is difficult to filter out the ones who have added a safe place and we fully understand your frustration. In order for Royal Mail to be able to leave a parcel safe, they do require the customers permission and you could contact the local Delivery Office and enquire about this to see if this is something which would be added for the future, not just for ourselves for other companies too. We can add the option for DPD for you and a safe palce, once placing your order please email sales@clinkard.co.uk or call 0345 241 7742 quoting your order number and we can add the instruction for you. It wasn't a bad experience as such I should have read the returns policy, it is my own fault. I am definitely a size 8 so I ordered a size 8 and 7 just in case. Fabulous shoe but the 8 was massive, and the 7 too big. A size 6.5 was available and I was going to order, but didn't realise it was going to cost me £4.99 (it may have been a few pence less, I cant remember) to return the shoes. Therefore didn't order. The delivery and returns not worth the risk.

We offer a competitive delivery service with dispatch with 2-3 working days on our Express Service however ask customers to pay towards the cost of a return. Returns can be sent via Collectplus which is £4.49 for up to 10kg and is ideal in cases where multiple items need returning or if you require a larger product returning, The Post Office also offer varying services and you can opt to use other couriers if this is more convenient, we do ask you to return using a tracked service for your piece of mind. This was the first time I have shopped with Charles Clinkard online and first impressions were not good. The white sole of one of the shoe's was discoloured as if it had been in a sunny shop window for a long time, a very different colour that the other one. Obviously not checked before being sent out. Unfortunately they had to go back and was told there was no replacement available despite the fact it still showed them on the website.

Hello, Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear your shoes were not of the high standard you would expect. We do source items from both our warehouse and our stores, where they may have been on display or tried on. However, this should not affect the quality of the product and items which are not of a high standard should not be sent out. We can see you spoke to our Customer Services team who arranged returning the item, but unfortunately there is no further stock. The item is no longer showing as available on our website in the size 4, but there can sometimes be a delay in the correct stock levels showing. I bought a pair of trainers online priced at £69 and used a £7 voucher, total charge to my credit card £62. Unfortunately the shoes didn’t fit so brought them back to the shop in Byres Road Glasgow. To my surprise I was told that I would get a full refund of £69 credited to my card (credit receipt issued for the full amount of £69). While I was in the shop I found a pair of trainers that suited and for which I paid the full amount having no longer a voucher. Fair enough and so good so far, I’m happy customer. A few days later I noticed that my credit card has only been credited with £62 instead of £69. I phoned the shop, explained the situation and was told to come in and I would get the £7 credited to my card. At the shop though I was told oh no I would not get the £7 credited but that the voucher was still valid in an e-envelope (??) for further purchases. Well this was news to me and if I knew that I would have used the voucher against the new trainers I just bought! I now have a voucher which I most probably won’t be able to use. My main dissatisfaction though is with the arrogant and condescending attitude of the shop assistant (maybe the mangeress?) when I went back to the shop..... well I won’t be back again!

If you return an item to store and you paid partially with a voucher, then the voucher will be refunded into your e-wallet as credit. You can access this credit by logging into your account online or it can be redeemed again in any of our stores. I am disappointed you were not advised correctly of the above procedure and hope you can accept my sincere apologies for the confusion caused. Please be assured, I have passed on your comments on to the store to be investigated. Your credit is still available so if you’re happy to, I can arrange for to be redeemed against the trainers you purchased? Easy to order from, great delivery, not so great when you want to return an item. Just under £5 to return an item that's really not that heavy!!! Highest return charge out of all the places I purchase online from. Won't be purchasing again.

I ordered by mail and the shoes took longer than I expected to arrive. Also they were not left where I requested. The shoes were poor quality and a very poor fit. Also it was all over your website that p & p was free. However returns were not. It also mentioned nowhere that they could be returned to store. However, luckily when I took them back your member of staff was excellent and took them back, making it clear it was company policy. She was very polite and helpful.

We offer free standard UK delivery with dispatch within 5 working days, this unfortuantely does not cover the weekends and we are sorry your order took longer to arrive. We can confirm we received your order on the 29th May 2019 and dispatched this on the 31st May 2019 for you, once handed to the postal service, we hope this will arrive quickly. I've ordered 2 pair of sandals on a web site it showed me there were available and few days later I got phone call there is only one pair in size I wanted so wasn't happy about the fact web site was showing availability even though there was no stock.

Visited the store in Meadowhall Sheffield to buy my son his first pair of shoes. The staff were somewhat rude and very miserable looking. No smiles and no conversation. Very rude. There was apparently nothing in his size. Had to leave empty handed. Ordered online for home delivery.

I was in the teesside park store, the only customer and about six or seven assistants, not one of which asked if I needed any help, not good customer service, more interested in their conversation, will not repeat the experience again.

Ordered via Charles Clinkard store , in a size 5. All paperwork confirmed size 5. Was sent a size 8! Resulting in a 24 mile journey to return shoes to store.

Having ordered numerous Peter Kaiser shoes in size 36.5 I ordered another pair last week. They are huge and I have to pay to return them . Apart from that every thing else was good

Paid for next day delivery but was not sent as next day. Received an email saying thank you for a second order of a different shoe which I hadn’t ordered! Customer service very good to help sort but not impressed.

I tried for two weeks to finally get to the payment on your website, I received a confirmation email, never received the shoes. When I contacted you there was no record of my sale. Finished up having to ring up and order them after the website failed again !!!
