The wrong size shoe was sent as to what I’d ordered. When I contacted Customer Service i was told there could not send the correct shoes as there were none left in the size I needed, and to just send them back. Being a size 2, finding the right shoe is so hard and I was extremely disappointed. I realise I am only 1 customer, but please make sure what you advertise as available on your website, is available.

Boots were too narrow and it cost me £8 return them. Did not state on website that customer would have to pay for any returns of goods.

We deliver all orders in the UK free of charge and ask if you can return items to a Charles Clinkard store or by post if you are not near to a store. All of this information is on our website under returns and available for customers to see. Unfortunately as you have missed this, you have also missed the Collect + link also under our returns information. You can purchase a return label from our website for £4.49 which will cover up to 10 kilo and therefore let you send several items back to us in one package. My order for Gabor's Bastia wide fit boots arrived in good time but despite being described as a wide fit, it was too narrow. I do not usually buy a wide fit but wanted to be sure I could wear a sock comfortably inside the boots - and as I already have some Gabor shoes and boots I was very surprised they were tight even without a sock, and also most disappointed. The sting is that I now have to pay for returns - there is no store near enough to return them there. I know I should have checked the policy before ordering but the policy is outdated and yo my mind, unacceptable in this day & age. I shall certainly not use the store again & will inevitably be warning all and sundry! The standard reply that I see usually follows complaints about having to pay for returns, I find quite insulting.

As size is personal, it is difficult to say what will fit each customer as many factors do affect this however we can understand fully your disappointment. As we offer a free standard delivery service with no minimum spend, we do currently ask customers to pay towards the cost of a return. You can take into a store if one is local however there are more cost efficient ways you can return instead of using the Post Office. Collectplus is £4.49 and offers up to 10kg in weight, this is ideal for a larger item or if you want to return multiple items/orders together. We ask all of our customers to fill out reviews - to ensure our reviews are accurate and true reflection of the customer experience we provide. First order was incorrect - Size 5 boots in a Size 8 box! This meant arranging for the return. NB there was however a quick replacement response and the correct size arrived two days later. The delivery firm -DPD - was it seemed incapable of understanding delivery instructions. These were to leave the parcel in an unlocked garage - on both occasions the parcel was left leaning against a door in completely the wrong (and unsheltered) place.

Unfortunately the wrong size shoe was in the box so I’ve had to go to the bother of sending it back and now waiting again for the correct size to be sent out!

1st delivery was lost by the carrier, 2nd delivery promised for a Thursday but only arrived 2 days later - this kept us from going out, which we had planned for one of these days and would not be acceptable ever in the future.

As the items were lost , a replacement pair was sent out with Royal Mail 24 hour service and they should indeed have arrived on the next working day however this was not the case. One item was unavailable though I was invoiced for it. A £7.00 credit was not include when the invoice was corrected. At this point I do not know how much I have paid for one pair of slippers. Regards, E.J. Catchpole

Didn’t find website easy to use cancelled one pair on order only to find that once I’d paid I had in fact ordered 2 pairs!!! Returned the second pair mon 5th Nov in store (where picked up.) for refund, receipt said allow 4 working days for refund . Today 12th Nov money (£95) still not in account ! Called in store only to be told refund not gone through so wait another 2 days for money !

Ordered on line and shoes arrived without any problem in terms of delivery. However they were slightly too big for me so I neede to return them. However, in addition to this one of the shoes had a mark on it, so I would have returned them anyway, even if they had fit. I returned to a shop and they agreed with em that they should not have passed quality control either.

The extra money I paid for Express delivery, was not worth the extra money. I contacted this website and contacted DHL EXPESS was told for 3 days it would be delivered. NOT.

I ordered a pair of shoes in the colour midnight which from the website I expected to be a dark navy. The shoes which arrived were black patent. Was this a mistake or is the colour wrong on the website?. I have returned the shoes as they were to match a dark navy outfit. I am very disappointed

Bought the shoes and matching bag in the sale earlier in the year. They were for a wedding which I attended at the end of May. After one use the bag lining started to split very badly. I was most disappointed especially as even in the sale the bag was expensive. I only noticed the damage when I next went to use the bag so didn't return it until yesterday. The sales lady in Cribbs Causeway couldn't find me a replacement which it what I wanted but gave me a full refund. Great , but I now have the shoes with no matching bag. No apology was given and actually she didn't try very hard as I now see the bag on your website.

The only issue i have is that my order was acknowledged, I was sent an email telling me delivery date was on a Monday, so waited and waited and no tracking available. Rang customer services who informed me that as no goods are despatched on a Sunday, this was incorrect and the goods would be sent out Monday, arriving Tuesday. Fair enough, but the system needs to be sorted so customers arent told a parcel is arriving when it hadnt even been despatched! But customer services were helpful, got another delivery confirmation on Monday and shoes did arrive on the Tuesday.

We waited around 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there which we didn’t have a problem waiting with but it would have been nice for someone to say we are busy but will be with you as soon as there was also another couple waiting

Hello, Thankyou for your review. Customer Satisfaction is at the heart of what we do, we offer a price match however certain criteria need to be to enable us to offer this. "The item our price is being compared to must be the same style, colour and size and must be in stock to purchase from the comparison company" On checking the website link you provided, we do not offer the Green/Khaki colour and also the colour options that Lookagain have are different. "The company providing the comparison product must be comparable to Charles Clinkard. This means that the company must have a UK presence that is not solely based online and must also not be in administration or in ‘final clearance’." Lookagain are an online catalogue only and unfortunately we would also have been unable to price match with them. We also do not price match against online markets like Amazon or Ebay. As Gabor is available from multiple retailers, we are unaware of the prices stockists set however we are happy to price match as long as we can verify the above. We stock many other brands and have a large amount of customers orders, as you can appreciate it would be difficult for us to check every purchase made however if we are given the information we would be very happy to look into any query given regarding prices. Ordering was a nightmare! Placed an order, all went through & then flashed up items were out of stock, decided to 'phone & was told some items were out of stock & then 'oh no' are in stock! so ordered over the 'phone. Goods arrived plus one extra, two days later the complete order arrived again! I'll think twice about ordering again.

Ordered plimsolls online and had to return - no free returns label so it cost me £2.95 to return. Won’t be ordering online again!

We do a free delivery service and do ask if cusotmers can cover the cost of returns, you have up to 35 days to return for a full refund either by posting them back, or you can take back to any Charles Clinkard store. Received the item ordered, they were priced at £42.99on website and I was charged that price , however when item arrived it said on box full price £37.00 reduced to £30, I phoned customer service and obtained refund of 12.99 really feel let down by Clinkards blatenly trying to ripping customers off !! Disappointed. Thought better of this company .
