I was disappointed. The shoes I ordered were advertised as wide fitting when they were extra wide which made a big difference When returning it advised to return recorded delivery which was very expensive

Thank you for your review. We are sorry for your disappointment, this shoe is advertised as extra wide on our website and unfortunately not just a wide fitting. With regard to returns, you can take back to a Charles Clinkard store or return via post. A recorded delivery is recommended for high value items so if they go missing in transit, you have a record and can claim for the missing item. However, you do not have to do this, you can just use a tracked service or even second class post if you prefer. We do have a link to Collect + on our website where you can get a discounted label and will cover up to 10 kilo of returns for £4.49 and is a recorded service. Ordered a pair of shoes received them a few days later but the shoes had been used...soles blackened with use. These were returned waited for a new pair and these came in and another used pair of shoes...blackened soles . Just not good enough. I expect a brand new pair of shoes. Will we buy from Charles Clinkard again...NO. We would not of got the same service if we had gone to a physical shop. A real shame.

I requested a size 9.5 and then was sent a size 10.

Hello, Thankyou for your review. As Vans are a US brand, how the conversion into UK or Eu sizes can differ and there is no uniformity unfortunately. We can confirm the size you were sent which is an EU 27 is marked as a UK10 however we understand how disappointed you may be. If you wish to return the item, you have 365 days to send this back as long as they are in a good condition, unworn and in the original packaging. Sent me badly sized slippers, cost me to return, not pleased, won't be using again. They really need to sort out the correct sizings for the items sold. This is what happens when retailers have no way of double checking quality.

Ordered item only to find out a few days later the item wasn’t available . It then became available a week later but it was returned as they were very small compared my other Merrill trainers I have.

The shoes arrived promptly hence the one star rating but they were the incorrect size as they sent an M10 which is the American sizing and not the English size 10. I then had to pay to return the incorrect size shoes which is very unfair as the mistake was theirs, not mine. I had always thought Charles Clinkard to be a quality company and was not expecting this and no word of apology with the replacement!

Wrong order received. Despite their error, CC would not send correct order out straight away. Had to send wrong order back before CC would then send my original order. Was told that (correct) order would be sent “as soon as the return postage label was activated. “ This was a week ago. I expected the correct order to be mailed out that same day. Obviously not. Sent emails asking for update and tracking information. Replied after third request. Shoes not even been mailed yet! Been advised that the shoes had to be sourced. At last, they “are to be mailed today. “ Extremely disappointed to say the least.

Great delivery service.. Lovely trainers but they where not a wide width fit, these trainers are narrow not wide that’s the only reason I sent back.. Also don’t like having to pay for returns if not suitable or I would probably have ordered some more to try..

Communication wasn’t very good, Didn’t receive shoes when stated and wouldn’t have ordered them from charles clinkard if I had known I’d receive them late. Overall not happy and won’t use again

The item was requested on a Next Day service however when we went to source your pair we found they were not available in our main warehouse but in one of our stores which were closed. We contacted you via email with regards to this on the 3rd June 2020 to advise however dont appear to have received an update from yourself. Disappointed with having to pay for return of the first pair. I used the Rieker measurement guide to make sure the shoes would fit correctly. Unfortunately not. I ordered a smaller pair. I wish I'd gone with my gut feeling and ordered what I thought. I got in touch to complain about the cost of return as I didn't think it was my fault. Unfortunately they wouldn't listen. They had to be returned by post due to lock down

I would usually shop in your stores but without that option at the moment I used your online size chart to measure my son's feet for new shoes. I then ordered various different brands in different sizes to try and find something that would work for him. It then cost me a small fortune to return the shoes that didn't work for him. Given the current situation we all now find ourselves in, it would have been nice if you could have rewarded your customers with free returns. Every other brand that I have bought from over the pandemic have offered that as a goodwill gesture. As a result I will be shopping with your competitors who do offer that support. I'm really disappointed.

I have placed an order but was unable to use the code Thanks20 as it would not apply to the order at checkout. Also I have tried to check in to my account again but despite changing the password numerous times I am still unable to log in!

The shoes I ordered arrived in the wrong colour and Clinkards have, so far, ignored my emails regarding this error. While mistakes do inevitably happen, I am disappointed by the lack of customer service; it feels as if they have taken payment but do not care about customer satisfaction.

We bought a Clark’s sandal for our son and when it arrived it came without any label and for our surprise the sole was dirty, like it has been used before.. so very disappointed as it was our first time purchasing from this website. Not sure I’ll ever purchase anything again.. apart from that fast delivery it was great.
