I bought a pair of red Gabor Ruffle shoes online and the shoes were each a different colour, one was faded. Are shoes not checked before they are sent off ? I took the shoes back to Charles Clinkard's Shrewsbury branch for a refund. I will not be buying hoes from the company again. The Charles Clinkard website always has been difficult unlike John Lewis, M&S, Boots, Seasalt and many more.

Im totally bemused by the sizing of Birkenstock Arizona. Ordered my size 5, they were huge, returned and ordered size 4. They were still so big I thought Id ordered the size 5 again by mistake? Returned these, will now order 3 and hope they fit?!?!? Never bought shoes 2 sizes below my size?

Hello Thankyou for your review. As size is personal, although you may have ordered your usual size there is no guarantee of the perfect fit. Also, each style will offer a different fitting experience and the last used will be different for each style of Birkenstock manufactured. Please be aware when you purchase a brand of shoe from CC that they do not stock all brands in their warehouse but pass on your order to the brand supplier who may not have your size in stock . To check the actual brand website would be better. I have to say although i was disappointed Nicola tried her best to help.

I bought a pair of Gabor sandals which I love, off Charles Clinkard, I paid £85 for the sandals so I was very disappointed when I realised I could have bought the same sandals off the Look Again catalogue for £16 cheaper so I have now ordered a black pair off that catalogue.

I was happy with the delivery. However, the sandals were not suitable so decided to take them back to Nottingham for a refund. Google shows the store to be located in Victoria Centre. After paying to park and walking through the centre I was told by someone that the shop hadn’t been there for 2 years. We had to then pay to park somewhere else so that I could go to the correct location. We were not happy and well out of pocket due to parking charges.

Shoes arrived in a timely manner but were not the usual fit that I have had from Gabor in the past . Very narrow . I was dismayed to find that I had to pay the return postage , had I realised ,I would have ordered from a different site.

I was informed that the shoes had been dispatched. I had to contact the company on 3 occasions to ask for a tracking number which I never received the shoes. Unfortunately, I never received the shoes. The company did make the refund promptly but I’m afraid the shopping experience was below par

Slippers were way too small and tight. Was looking for a wider fit slipper but put off because of having to pay for returns.

QUICK DELIVERY Expensive trainers comfy BUT - grease blob on the top of the leather on one foot. Box they came in battered squashed with a big rip across the lid so they looked a mess before I had taken the lid of - Trainers discounted for the grease, Asked for replacement box to keep them in (2nd contact ) - was told the discount was for the box. It wasn't It was for the grease stain Looked like they'd come from a pile at the bottom of a box all battered and squashed. How they were allowed to come out like that I shall never know and to be refused a decent box to keep them in is just mean The 1st person who helped with the grease stain on chat was very helpful The 2nd was patronising and did not value the fact I told her I wanted to but them in more colours but would like a decent box ( its a cardboard box ) but she was disinterested and simply said no on chat and couldn't care less if I repeat purchased other shoes or not. If you don't value your customers - someone else will.

The order I placed was not confirmed by email, so after a few days when I ordered again, the confirmation immediately showed up and was delivered expeditiously. Then a 2nd order arrived. I opted to keep all 4 pairs of shoes because I know they are perfect. I am now on my 3rd/4th (!) incarnation of these trainers, which I wear all day! They are good looking, but really robust. I particularly like the side zip. At some point I suppose Gabor will stop this design, so I decided not to make a fuss, and would recommend Charles Clinkard notwithstanding.

We have taken a look and there is one order with an incorrect email address, it is almost the same, but the number within the address is written twice and not once. This will be why you have not received the email. The shoes are great, however delivery and service were poor. The shoes were poorly packaged with a thin plastic wrapper over the church's box. The box arrived very badly damaged and unusable. The issue was raised with Charles Clinkard and absolutely nothing has been done to rectify the situation, very disappointing.

Disappointed that we had to pay for return of shoes that did not fit my daughter. Especially during the pandemic when renting to store was simply not an option

Thank you for your email. We are allowing up to 12 month for returns to come back to us at the present time so long as unworn. This is allowing for people to keep the item for longer and not have to worry about going out if they are wanting to shield. I hop that this helps for future reference. Thank you for your review. On our website there is a link to Collect + which is £4.49 and covers up to 10 kilo of returns so you can send several items together. You have to have a printer to be able to print out the label and a shop close to your home address is given to take the order to. If you have only one item, then you can still use this service or any other that you wish. The £11 will be for a next day, tracked signed for postage, which is expensive, there are other methods within the Royal Mail service which are much lower in cost. You can also return to any Charles Clinkard store, you can pop your postcode into our webiste to find stores near to you. You have at the present time, up to one year to return unwanted items to us so long as they are unworn. I hope that this information helps for any future order that you may make. Shoes didn’t arrive next day from when I ordered them and as they didn’t fit had to send them back costing £8.50 as had to be sent back tracked. So paid £13.50 and still have no shoes. Shocking your not doing free returns or even drop at stores I won’t be ordering anymore.

We have looked into your order and we contacted you via your email to advise of a delay with dispatching your items and that there would no charge applied for delivery. We are sorry if this information was not received, it may have gone into a Junk Folder. With reference to returns, we do offer a return to store option (Charles Clinkard store) however due to the COVID restrictions in place, our stores have been closed as classed as a non essential retail so we were unable to accept returns into the stores during this period. We are sorry you were disappointed with the order process and will ensure your comments are passed into the teams who take care of this aspect for us. For future reference, we are offering 365 days return and you may find Collectplus at £4.49 for up to 10kg more cost effective for you. Paid for next day delivery and they didn't arrive on time. Two days later the Courier wouldn't put item through porch window so we had to rearrange the delivery

Any orders placed at the weekend will not be dispatched until the Monday for Tuesday delivery. The order was placed on a Sunday and we dispatch this on the Monday to arrive with you on the Tuesday. Shoe too small, unusual in that I have never had to return a shoe for that reason. Phoned you and your representative could not have been more bored and unhelpful. Nor had he any clue about details of your stock. I’m sorry but I am greatly put off your company and at a time I am about to buy new shoes to fit orthotics. Jane Cox

Thank you for your review. You can return to any Charles Clinkard store which is at no cost to yourself, or return via any postal service of your choice. On our website there is a link to Collect + which covers up to 10 kilo (so can send several pair back at the same time) at a cost of £4.49. Youw ould find that a single pair of shoes would be less than this if you go elswhere. I do hope that this information helps for it you did need to return anything to us again. Although delivery was quick the boots weren't the colour as shown on the website. When I complained of this they said they didn't have that colour in stock and would change the website to reflect the brown rather than muscat colour I had ordered. Two weeks later the website still shows the same details. It's a shame this is just lip service rather than actions.

I’m sorry I can’t give you more than two stars but my boots arrived and they were incredibly small. I ordered a size 8 (I am normally a 7) but could not even get my foot into them they were that small. The quality of the boots looked to be of a high standard but you need to resize your boots to more realistic sizes. I was extremely disappointed that you did not have a larger size.

The sizes are guided by the Company who make them and not ourselves, but should all be of a standard size, however they can differ a little from the various countries that they come from.
