Thank you for your review. You can return orders back to any Charles Clinkard store or return by post. We would exchange and cover the cost of the postage to you, but do ask customers to cover the postage cost if they are returned, unless there was a fault. I purchased a pair of shoes from you in store (Sheffield Medowhall) and since they did not have the size in stock they arranged home delivery. These were delivered and unfortunately, they sent the wrong size. I had to return these items at my own expense which since the mistake was yours seems rather unfair. The cost of the return was £4.45. The correct size was eventually delivered but in view of the costs involved in returns I am pretty sure that I will not use this service again.

Thank you for your review. I can see that you returned the shoe that was ordered and then asked for an exchange for a smaller size which we have arranged for you. There does not appear to be a mistake. However, if you feel that there is please call us on 0345 241 7742 (only a local rate charge and not a premium number) so that we can look into this further for you. Alternatively, email sales@clinkard.co.uk. If an error has been made, we would not expect a customer to have to pay for the return and can certainly also look into this if you could please let us know what the error was. Just received my order yesterday. Fast delivery. Good quality. But...extremely disappointed by the appearance of the shoes. Totally different shape and pattern from the picture on the website. Doesn't worth the money. I had to return them. Shame.

Bought it for my wife but it looks like it was ex display which was a little bit disappointing for my wife, but still decided to keep it as it was a sale item.

SAdly I didn't receive the order placed. I choose to click and collect from a DPD pick up store but the parcel never arrived. I called customer services and they recalled the parcel from DPD and anticipated sending me another pair but sadly the pair that had been despatched was the last of that pair so my order got cancelled.

I odered a pair of sandels from you because my size was not avaliable, in your Newcastle store. When they arrived l discovered that they had been used and were worn. I returned these and received refund. Not happy that this had occurred.

Had Dispatch email, tracking didn’t work, click and collect delivery- no info received- called on receipt of this email (6 days later) to be told at click and collect location- attended today (first day shop open since my call to say parcel sent back as not collected within 7 days. Fuming

Won’t be ordering from them again as it is too expensive to return them if they are not suitable. You need to try shoes on so will only order from “free return” shops in future.

The boot arrived very quickly, and well wrapped and boxed. However, when I bought the boot on-line, the site clearly said no postage over £40.00 purchase. I was charged £5.95 and attempted to cancel the order - I had no response to my request, I still haven't. The order arrived - I paid to send it back immediately. The best thing about this whole transaction was the swift refund, minus the cost of P & P. The postage has since been refunded since my negative review. Thank you.

Thank you for your review. You are right that standard postage is free if your order is over £40, this is including sale items if they are also over £40. I had a look at your order and because you have opted for a next day delivery, this is why there has been a postage charge. Your order will have been prioritised above others and sent out the same day as you ordered, using an overnight courier. I have searched for an email from you but cannot see one, we reply to all emails so I apologise that you tried to cancel and did not get a reply. The best way to do this is call as you would get an instant response. it is only a local rate charge and not a premium number. 0345 241 7742. Ordered four pairs of shoes/boots to try, took slightly longer to arrive than expected. Three pairs well packaged but just not suitable. One box had two shoes of different sizes. This also happened to me in-store previously.

I ordered and paid for the purchase to be gift-wrapped. The goods were as always exactly what I wanted and I have no complaints about them but the gift(?) wrapping was truly amateurish and atrocious. I am sure that Charles Clinkard,whoever he may be, would not have wanted to present his wife with the mess you expected me to do. If you cannot make a gift wrapping presentable then I suggest you stop offering and charging for it. I certainly will not be availing myself of this service in future

Gave them two orders. The first order, a pair of flat shoes, had been worn sufficiently to crease the leather! However, my wife was not sufficiently concerned for me to return them. The second order, a pair of ankle boots, was the wrong size. My order and confirmation were for size 7 whereas the boots that arrived were 6 1/2. Needless to say, the boots have been returned and I wait to see whether Clinkards can in some way redeem themselves. These were not discounted price items and I expected better.

Received my order but not happy with the quality of the slippers. Seeing as though I spent £50 on a pair of Luxury slippers I’d expect them to be immaculate. However each slipper was different to the other. The texture of the leather of one slipper was all crumpled and looked cheap. I emailed twice about the issue and am yet to hear back from someone. Seeing as though this is a Christmas gift I’m very anxious to hear back. Very disappointed. Would not recommend so far.

I have read all of these reviews and hope you can turn my very poor experience into a positive experience. I ordered a pair of Josef Seibel boots on December 10th for my daughter's Christmas. They arrived on December 16th. Unfortunately, when I opened the parcel I found a pair of men's trainers and the recipients name inside of the parcel was not my name. There was no returns label and no phone number to contact Charles Clinkard. I located a number and was given help and a returns label. I took the boots immediately to the post office and e-mailed customer service the returns reference. I had been told that the boots were in stock and would be dispatched when I had proof of posting. I have now been told that the boots will be dispatched as soon as possible. I'm not sure what this means. Does it mean I will have them in time for Christmas?. I ordered them in plenty of time and this was not my mistake.

Asked for a Uk 11, none in store, was told to order a 45 online. Ordered in store and item arrived. Box says 45 = 10 not 11. Spoke to store, they say 45 is 11?? So who is right and who is wrong? is manufacturer wrong? Returned and purchased same shoe in 11 from elsewhere - so much easier

Hello Thankyou for your review. Rieker are a continental brand and how they convert their EU sizes does differ from other companies and unfortunately there is no uniformity across the shoe industry. A standard EU45 would be an 11 however Rieker have converted this EU45 into a UK10 and we apologise for the confusion regarding this. Oder arrived on time but there was a “in the sale” price tag on the boots that was considerably cheaper than the price I paid online which wasn’t happy about. Boots were lovely but too small and had to send them back. And had to pay £10 at post office to return them even though they were £70. Most companies offer a free returns over certain value. Not happy.

With regards to price advertised on the box, this has been placed on the box in error, as the shoes are retailing at the price you ordered them at and we are sorry for this error. With regards to returns, we offer free standard UK delivery on a spend over £40.00, dispatched within 5 working days, however do ask customers to pay towards the cost of the return. You can of course return to a store if one is near to you however there are cost efficient ways of sending back your order. Although we do recommend a tracked service, there are different levels of service and cover you can choose at the Post Office when returning. You can return via Collectplus which is £4.49 for up to 10KG and is ideal for larger items or multiple orders, the link to this option can be found in the returns section of our website. We appreciate the feedback regarding the returns policy and will pass this onto the correct department, as we are constantly reviewing our policies to ensure the best service for our customers. I ordered a Peter Kaiser bag for a wedding. When it arrived it wasn’t in its original PK box and had glitter stuck to the suede. I contacted Charles Clinkard and explained that I had expected it to be in its original box and in perfect condition. They sent a replacement bag which arrived wrapped only in a plastic bag. It was an expensive bag and although I appreciated the replacement, it was disappointing not to have the original packaging.
