Shoes damaged on arrival. Told 2 more in stock so returned for replacement. Then received email saying these were not up to standard either so would receive refund.

As we source items from our warehouse and our stores, we cannot guarantee that they have not been tried on or on display however this should no impact on the overall quality. It is very disheartening to hear your shoes were of poor quality and the soles were coming away. Our Customer Services team checked further stock for you and found that similar pairs had very similar issues and rather than cause further disappointment felt it would be far more beneficial to offer a refund. I had to pay for return postage on the shoes - £3.50 to try on a pair of shoes seems a bit steep. Most online stores now offer free returns. I am unlikely to buy again from Charles Clinkard because the company doesn't offer free returns. It would be preferable to factor the cost of returns into the price of the shoes and I would be happy to pay a bit more.

We offer a fantastic free delivery service which dispatches the item within 2-5 working days, currently we ask customers to pay the cost of a return or if near to a store then they can pop in with the products and arrange a refund or an exchange. The shoes illustrated are the ones I returned to you, which are unsuitable for my feet, the uppers being of a stiff, unyielding material, and the lasts are much too narrow. None of this was evident on the online photograph. I used online for the purchase because I could not purchase them in-store. Had I seen them I would not have attempted to purchase them. I was unable to replace these with suitable, like for like, shoes so opted instead for a pair of brogues, not the same price of course, but another excellent Reiker shoe for winter. I am very satisfied indeed with the (always) courteous, helpful assistance from Clinkard staff, long may you continue I shall confine my shoe purchases to your store in future!

Reliable delivery, however, one of the shoes was clearly a display shoe and quite tired looking/worn in. I needed the delivery for the day after I picked them up so had no choice but to keep (being walking shoes). I understand they were ion the sale but it isn't really the point. Disappointing, would think that the customer should be told if one is ex display...

I ordered some trainers for my daughter. Having had her measured I knew that she was a 10.5. The trainers we chose were in European sizes so I checked the size guide on the website and ordered what I thought to be an 11, as there were no half sizes available. They seemed rather big when they arrived so I checked the European size on another website, and it told me that the size I ordered was a UK 11.5. I actually needed a size smaller than your chart suggested. I hope she still likes them when she grows into them.... As for delivery, I paid standard delivery which I assumed meant that the shoes would be picked and sent within a day or two, and take a day or two to arrive. I called the customer service number after 3 days as I had had no word from the company that the shoes were on their way. I was told that they were being shipped that day on a next day service and I'd get an email by the close of business to say they had been despatched. 3 days the company sat on my order and did nothing with it, only to pay next day delivery!? If you want to sit on orders for days then pay a premium for next day delivery that's your decision, but at least keep me informed that my order is being dealt with. On a positive note, the lady I spoke to was very helpful, but I shouldn't have needed to chase the order.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am really sorry to read about the problem you have had with the sizing. The conversion between UK and EU sizes is a slightly confusing one. There isn't an exact conversion between the two and this is why you will see variations in how companies/brands convert EU to UK and vice versa. As a company, we do generally convert a 29 to an 11 - but we appreciate some brands and companies do not. If you would like to return these to us, please email me directly at customerservices@clinkard.co.uk and we can assist you in the return of these shoes to us. In regards to delivery times. Standard delivery is 2-5 working days for delivery and sometimes, it can take us a 2-3 working days to dispatch an order. Please be assured that we were not sitting on your order but instead in the process of sourcing the product for you. We dispatch all orders as quickly as they're available to us, and if it has taken a few working days to process, we will opt for a next day delivery service so as not to impact the customer. We do have order statuses, which can be accessed from your online account and these will tell you what the status of your order but I am sorry if they didn't give you the information you were hoping for. The manager who was serving me was uninterested, would not fetch shoes for me, I had to get quite abrupt with her. If I had any another shoe from the same manufacturer she insisted they would fit the same so I did not need the different style. She showed no interest in serving me. My daughter (adult) and I had a conversation about formally complaining as we had never had such poor service in a shoe shop. The next time she came back from looking for shoes, it was like she had a personality transplant, it was laughable, suddenly she could not do enough. We believe one of the staff overheard us and told her what we were discussing. Dreadful experience.

I got trainers that were a totally different colour than I ordered so had to return them so I paid postage TWICE for shoes that I didn't actually order!

The boots I was sent had faded toes. Although I'd bought them with a price reduction I wasn't made aware they were faulty prior to purchasing.

We offer a free delivery service which we feel benefits our customers and do ask for the return to be paid for. Items can be taken into a Charles Clinkard store for an exchange or refund without charge, a small fee can be paid via the Post Office or for larger returns or multiple items, Collectplus charge £4.23 for up to 10kg. When my sandals were delivered the strap on one shoe was half torn away. I had ordered them for a special event and so I glued and sewed the strap back on, but really I should have returned them - very disappointed.

My first visit with mother in wheel chair member of staff did not want to help us my second visit member of staff ordered some shoes for me. However the first assistant lacked customer care or product knowledge disappointed.

Standard delivery is free and we dispatch within 5 working days and we set out your item on the 4th day. We cannot advise exactly when your item will be with you however an email/text is sent to the customer to let them know when the parcel has been dispatched. Your order was sent via Interlink who send a text to customers who attach a mobile number to their order and this also gives a one hour time slot. They also leave items in a safe place for the customer which is ideal as it saves you waiting in all day for a parcel. Ordered 2 pairs of shoes for my son. Only one arrived. The other pair was on the order but had been crossed out. I wasn't informed that they were unable to fulfill my order until I saw the crossed out delivery note. One pair delivered promptly and a good price.

There was no telephone number unfortunately so we could not speak directly to you. "Thank you for your recent order. Unfortunately there has been an error on our website and the shoes the Clarks Comic zone that are advertised as a G fitting are an F fitting. Please can you let us know if you would still like to receive these shoes, we can if you prefer cancel and refund this part of the order for you. We will dispatch the Vans today for you" We sent out the Vans shoes for you and unfortunately as we had no reply regarding the Clarks, issued a refund back to your Paypal on the 28th July 2017. Order and delivery time was great. But I ordered 2x 7 toddler toms for my twins for holiday (last minute) and I received 2x size 8! So no new shoes for holiday and the beach. Very upset.

On our listing, the sizes are shown as a UK however as they are a US brand they have the US sizes inprinted on them, I have checked the description and this is shown to help our customers in selecting the correct option for them. "Please note: Tom’s shoes have the US sizes printed on them, for example if you have ordered a UK children's size 5 they will have ‘6’ printed on them." If the items have been unworn you are welcome to return these for a refund either instore or by sending through the Post. Delivery was fantastic. Only thing was when I received the little ones first shoes, they were the wrong size. They'd measured him as a 3f in the meadowhall store, but up on delivery they'd sent a size 2. So they've had to go back so to wait again

The process was absolutely fine but when the shoes arrived they had a sale sticker on the inside over the heel. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the adhesive used this was very hard to remove, damaging the leather insole and leaving a very unpleasant sticky residue. As these are slingback shoes and the insole visible when walking this is extremely disappointing, so I am in the process of talking to my local shoe repair man to see if he can fit new linings to replace damaged one, which obviously adds to the overall cost of the shoe. If I had known this I would not have purchased the shoes from you but bought elsewhere. In this case the label should have been placed on the sole or a more appropriate brand of label used.

The price labels should not have been placed on the insole of the sole however can be removed gently with a tiny bit of nail polish remover on a rag (just a small amount) and sometimes a little talc can help. I buy a lot of items on line from a wide range of retailers. I guess I didnt read the small print, but I was very disapointed to find that Im expected to pay for postage to return a pair of unwanted shoes to Charles Clinkard ( I bought multiple sizes to ensure fit ). I think its fair to say that its a reasonable expectation from online shopping experience that delivery will be free when spending above a certain amount and returns will be free. Otherwise customers will consider carefully before buying & trying - i know I will be next time ! Otherwise a good service from Charles Clinkard reagrds Ruth Morton

Items can be taken into a Charles Clinakrd Store for a refund or an exchange and we also have a 35 days return policy which gives you the time to try the items around the home to see if they are suitable. Other services to return the items are Royal Mail which can cost from as little as £3, multiple items can also be sent via Collectplus-this is approximately £4.23 for up to 10kg in weight-ideal for larger orders and bigger items such as boots We are sorry you are disappointed with our returns policy, we are constantly reviewing the service and your comments have been recorded.
