I ordered shoes online, when they arrived they was not a matching pair, they were different shades. I returned them to the store in Ilkley and they said one of the shoes must have been on display in the window so they would order me another pair. When I went to pick them up they had the same problem. I buy a lot of shoes at the Ilkley store the staff who are brilliant were really apologetic. Surely the shoes should have been checked before being sent in the first place.

I went into redcar branch, was a man serving I hadn’t seen before, told him I was looking for some boys sandals, he waved at the wall and said they’re what we have. I pointed to a couple and asked to try them, he then asked me what size I want! I guessed my boys size, he brought them out and handed them to me to put on him and for me to decide if they fit. I happened to find a pair on the sale rack which I guessed the size and I was left to decide if they fitted. I might aswell have gone to a supermarket and bought a cheap pair as I had to decide if they fitted! As I left a lady was pushing in a price with twins in, I told her not to go upstairs for children’s shoes as they wouldn’t be fitted.

The first pair of shoes I ordered arrived and were two different colours. One was pink the other a beige colour. Obviously one shoe had been on display. I phoned up immediately and said I was shocked that someone had checked these and sent them out. I spoke with Tracy who wasn’t very sympathetic about my complaint. Another pair was sent out which I have received. They are ok. Not at all a good first experience.

Waiting and waiting to get served in children’s department. Had a ticket, we were next, sales assistant decided to serve someone else. Gave up and left. This is not the first time we have given up waiting to be served.

Shocking courier service, paid express delivery, item not delivered on day expected, no communication from courier. Wasnt able to speak to a human when calling the courier. The experience would put me off buying from Charles Clinkards in the future.

Ordered Sunday day didn't arrive until Thursday 7.45. Went to return them...had to pay to return....very old fashioned...costs me over £9 to return! !!

Standard delivery is dispatched within 5 working days and we ensured your order was posted out well within this timescale. We have passed your comments over regarding the length of time your order took to arrive at your chosen collection point to Collectplus who were responsible for arranging the additional service. With reference to returns, we offer free standard delivery with no minimum spend and ask customers to pay towards the cost of returns. There are a number of ways to return an item, you can visit a Charles Clinkard store with your invoice and items, a refund or exchange can of course be processed for you instore. Additonally Collectplus offer a cost efficient returns service for £4.49, this covers up to 10kg and is ideal for larger items as well as multiple products and on this occasion would have been more beneficial for your return. Other services are available such as the Post Office however charges vary epending on the service you receive, we ask for the item to be recorded as this protects both you and the company should an item go missing/be damaged. I've ordered a pair of Ralph Lauren Kids Lathan Mid Boys boots Size 3/36. Payed for express delivery to make sure my son would have them for his First Communion. I've received a lovely pair of boots (as described) Size 4/36 (as it says on the boot's label). My son ended up wearing an old pair of shoes on his big day and I payed, unnecessarily, a more expensive delivery. Very disappointing.

Hello, Thankyou for your review. Ralph Lauren is an overseas brand, how they convert their sizes is different. An EU36 would be normally equivalent to a UK3 however Ralph Lauren have this as a UK4, this would be the reason for the confusion and we apologise for this. Don't waste money, customer service as poor as shoes, stretched so much unable to keep on, customer services said no fault, however provided 2 sets full insoles, 1 set part insoles and heel grips to try to get them to fit and their reply they said 'their shoes do not fit my feet!' I thought a shoe manufacturer made shoes for feet - wrong:(

Thank you for your review. Although we are sorry to hear that the shoes that you have bought are too large for you, they are worn and therefore we are unable to accept them back for a refund or exchange. If you had returned the shoes unworn we would have issued a full refund for you, but this was not the case. As good will our cusotmer service department did try to help with the fitting of the shoes for you and supplied free of charge, insoles, half insoles and heel grips. We do hope that this will make the shoes more snug for you by reducing the area within the shoe. With regards, Janice Ruddock - customer services.

I was sent the wrong type and size of shoe. I was offered free return slip which was not sent to me so I had to call again to be sent one. I therefore had the additional cost of two phone calls to the company.

The clutch on the handbag in the shop was faulty so they promised to send another to my home address. This turned out to be a pair of shoes!! Michael Rushforth at Customer Services was really helpful in returning the shoes but as time was running out I went elsewhere for another bag. However the shoes I had purchased in the shop were very comfortable!

The parcel was not delivered to my house address it was delivered to the P.O.box, which happens the first time to me in online shopping. It is inconvenient, and I have to go all the way there to collect my parcel.

Hello, Thankyou for your review. Delivery is to PO Boxes only in the UAE and there is no mail delivery to street addresses in the UAE. All mail goes to PO Boxes at various post office locations or to business addresses for delivery to employees. You can set up a Post Box location for your deliveries by visiting: https://www.epg.gov.ae We are sorry you found this inconvenient however this is a standard policy for the UAE and if you address your parcel to a street o business address you will be requested to collect from a PO BOX or set up one in order to receive post. At least twice I order a pair of shoes waitedxand they were out of stock got a email saying they were back in stock placed order straight away few days later again out of stock.Although not taking the money each time getting authorisation which is tieing up funds for three days making you unable to get elsewhere.No explanation why they keep doing this.Ordering for a present do not rely on these people to fulfill your order.

As we source our stock from stores as well as our warehouse, it may be that when we go to select the item it is possibly not available or already sold/allocated to another customer. On this occasion we only had one pair available, as there may be a number of people who require the same item it is on a first serve basis and we apologise we were unable to fulfill this item. If you are interested in ordering a shoe which is showing as low stock, you are very welcome to call 0345 241 7742 and we can then check into this for you before placing an order to ensure no further disappointment. We always try to inform our customers as soon as possible so they can look into a replacement and also, if payment was a debit/credit card we do not take the payment so therefore you do not have to wait for any refund to be returned to you.
