Ordered sandals for my daughter to take on holiday but received an email 3 days later to say they did not exist in the first place and a refund. Not impressed as was then too late to order a pair from another retailer.

Hello Karina Thankyou for your review. On viewing your order, we received this on the Saturday of the Easter Bank Holiday. We were closed on the Sunday as were the majority of our stores so were unable to check the availabilty of your item at this point. As we source stock from stores as well as our warehouse, if an item says ‘Hurry Low Stock’, it means that we are in short supply of that style in the size and colour in question. This means that although you are welcome to place an order, we are unable to guarantee availability. In a minority of cases, we will contact you within 5 working days to let you know that unfortunately we cannot fulfil the order. As soon as we were able to confirm this we forwarded an email to advise as we were unable to call -Unfortunately a telephone number was not included. We are naturally very disappointed with your comments and hope you will return in the future. Overall Terrible Online Experience. I bought a pair of shoes I liked, they sent me the wrong item and initially wouldn't cover return costs. Instead - I had to travel to their city center store and pay for parking to return the order which they messed up. I asked if if they would send a pre-paid label as I didn't think it was fair to waste my time and incur additional costs because of their error. They agreed to send me one but after multiple chasers they still haven't done it and I'm now stuck with the shoes so will probably need to sell them on eBay.

Thank you for your email. We are sorry to hear that you may have received an incorrect item, when you contacted us regarding this, we asked if you would like to call into our Newcastle store or if you would like a pre paid label to return the shoes to us. We did not have a reply from you with regard to a pre paid label but of course I will send one to you for the return. So long as the shoes are unworn we will issue a full refund. Shoes are checked at the point of dispatch and the shoe that was ordered should be the one that was sent to you. If not then of course we would not expect you to have any expense in returning the item to us. Although we do source stock from our warehouse and stores this should not impact on the overall quality of the item ordered and we are sorry. Ordinarily the box is there to offer protection, we can understand how concerning it would be to receive a box which has been damaged and we have spoken to both external and internal teams to ensure this is prevented from occuring in the future. Two orders-first order said size was available but got email saying run out.Needed the shoes for our daughter for our holidays few days later.Was her first pair has only 16 month old.Did get a discount on the next order though.Ordered second pair,came and wrong size and marked.Ordered 5 was 5.5...had to keep and take on holiday has would have had no shoes.Bad service stay clear.Excuse was I got them in sale...well done Charles Clinkard..very poor.

Hello Thankyou for taking the time to leave your feedback. When items are low stock, it means there are less than three pairs availablein the company. As we also source these from stores as well as our warehouse, it may be that the item has sold, is not available or is in poor condition. If we are unable to fulfill this we contact the customer to advise and also apologise, any monies are refunded back if payment has been taken. We apologise we were unable to fulfill the first order, we applied a credit or you so you could take another look at the other range we had on offer for your little one and are pleased that you found an alternative. The ECCO shoes are a continental brand and there is no set way that they convert their sizes into UK ones. Some manufacturers will round up their sizes for the UK. We are sorry this caused confusion, the correct size was dispatched. We contacted you regarding you recent order and sincerely apologise for the marks that were on the shoes, however we appreciate how disappointed you were and we also discounted this pair for you. Hello, Thankyou for your review. We offer free delivery on all items with our standard option and there is no minimum limit needed for this however we ask customers to pay towards returns. Returns can be taken into a Charles Clinkard store with the invoice, an exchange or a refund will be processed for you. Additionally you can opt for Collectplus, this is £4.49 and is for 10kg-ideal for larger items and multiple orders. We also accept returns from other couriers such as Hermes and Royal Mail, there are varying services available with different levels of costs. We appreciate feedback from all our customers and ask for a review to enale us to show a true reflection of the experience. I was sent the the wrong item and then learnt that the bag I thought I had bought was actually out of stock... even though it was still showing availability. Not a good experience at all and one that I won’t be repeating. Customer services were excellent and so were the staff at the Northallerton store- both of whom should be commended.

I had emailed regarding a sale sticker that was in the shoes I had ordered, I had paid full price. I was asked to send over images, to which I done immediately. A week has passed with no reply being receieved

I ordered two pairs of boots on line without realising that I would have to pay for returns. It cost me £11.00 and I did not even have the boots

Perfect fit on arrival, within one week had stretched so much I cannot walk in them or even keep them on

This not only reduces the area within the shoe but also keeps the shoe fresh for longer as you can change the insole whenever needed. Hopefully this may help. At this present time we ask customers to pay towards a return, this can be by taking into a Charles Clinkard store, using the Post Office or you can also opt to use Collectplus which is £4.49 for up to 10KG. When shoes arrived, having ordered size 5, I was disappointed to open parcel to find size 7 1/2. I fail to understand exactly how that can happen especially when all the paper work referred to size 5

We received shoes by post with one shoe stained. After return of that pair to CC new pair arrived and it looked like the ex display pair with again one shoe different from the other .We took that pair to the shop in Bristol where our suspicion was confirmed by the sales person. We had to pay £8 pounds for return postage and drive 60 miles to give second pair back to the shop in Bristol. This is a very poor service .

Terrible terrible terrible. Sent me odd shoes. Called and computer down to email re postage label. Did not have the size / style in stock to re send out new pair. No real customer support just the scripted type. Pity

Until recently I've always has excellent service from Clinkards. However, a pair of trouser shoes (displayed in the winter stock & clearly for winter wear) I purchased recently let water in through stitching on the sole the first time I wore them on a wet pavement. Clinkards response was that I should have asked for 'waterproof' shoes, & I should not expect a pair of shoes constructed 'like a moccasin' to keep my feet dry. Furthermore, if I'd looked on the manufacturers website I would have discovered that they were't weatherproof. I checked, & this was not true. The manager then admitted that head office had told her to give me this 'information'. I was refused a refund, despite the fact that these shoes are clearly unfit for purpose. Appalling service.

Never did get the boots,DPD are the worst postal service you can deal with,after apparently after FOUR supposed tried deliveries they never left the boots in the place I chose,they never left a note to say they called as I don’t think they did....won’t be ordering anything from anywhere that uses DPD

Dear Anne, Thankyou for your review. The order we received was placed on the 23rd December 2017 on our standard delivery service. This is dispatched within 2-5 working days and we posted this out to you on the 28th December. As this was just before Christmas weekend, we arrange for this to be posted out on the 28th December and the item was signed for on the 4th January 2017 which is four working days (if you take away the Christmas and New Year bank holidays over this time scale) The delay in receiving your order will be due to the holiday season and Royal Mail had a very high volume of parcels to deliver over this time. An email was sent out on the 28th December to let you know the items had been posted and we are sorry if this was not received. In the future you can opt to place an order and reques DPD who can send a text with an hour time slot and additionally can also leave items in a safe place. There is also an excellent service where you can watch the route of the driver too. Really poor experience no delivery told I would get a refund then the parcel turned up days later even though I no longer want it. No communication whatsoever from customer service. I bought the shoes in york on the high street no problem. Avoid avoid.
