The shoes were very nice but unfortunately too wide so I had to return them. Now that is where I became very shocked to find the return with Post Office tracking cost £8.95. This would certainly stop me from ordering again.

Thank you for your review. We have a link on our website to Collect Plus where for £4.49 you can return up to 10 kilo of items in one package with a tracking number, or you can use any postal service or courier that you wish. When it is one pair of shoes, we find that Royal Mail second class is around £2.85 and you can add tracking for approximately an extra 80p. Alternatively you can take back to any Charles Cinkard store, we allow up to one year for unworn items to be brought back for full refund. I that this helps for future reference. We were a little disappointed with the collection process.We just happened to be visiting the Fosseway Retail Park, & called in your branch .We ordered the shoes in store at location Fosseway Nottinghamshire.But wanted them to be delivered to the Nottingham City Centre Store, as this store is a lot closer & easier for us to get to.Unfortunately the order went to Fosseway,so we had to make a special journey. Having said that the assistant's are always very helpful.

No problems ordering, unfortunately had to return both items as too narrow. Would be nice if there was a wider foot option. No problems returning

Pretty good website, easy to use. Excellent service and swift delivery. My main cincern is that many of the products on the website are not available in store. Bring back the days when you couls visit a store, see a pair of shoes and try them on befire buying

We do try to have as many brands and styles in our stores as possible, anything that is in our our main warehouse is usually available in store too, but some of our stock available online is sent direct from the merchandiser and not available for us to put on show. Prompt delivery and payment not taken until item with Royal Mail. Was very disappointed with the boots as they were 'seconds' and I have paid full price. I have been offered compensation but nothing received yet. Not happy.

Lovely slipper to look at but sole is quite thin, but at least it is non slip. The real negative for me is the horrible feel of the synthetic lining on my feet. A natural fibre would be much preferred.

I received my shoes really quickly and I was really impressed with the timescale. Unfortunately the shoes were damaged. You could see the glue attaching the shoe to the sole and also the suede was badly marked. However, I sent an email explaining my findings and the emailed me a returns label and instructions on how to return them. They had received the shoes back the following day to me posting them and I am just waiting for my money to be repaid. Unfortunately, the quality of the shoes was extremely poor for the price. I have however received very good customer service and support.

The service was good in parts. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes. One pair fitted beautifully. The other pair was fine on one foot but slipped off the other foot. I don’t have odd feet and this has never happened before. By phone, I arranged a free return with a promise that the manufacturer would be consulted. I asked if a second identical style could be sent to see if it was just a slightly faulty shoe. Clinkard just refunded me without comment even though I had written details of the phone conversation. I had used a new customer discount so if I just ordered another pair I’d have to pay £7.50 more for them. I wasn’t pleased.

I have returned these shoes. Disappointed with them, the trim on the front of the shoes was very loose consequently when walking the trims rattled. I think a design fault. I would think very hard before buying another pair of shoes from Clinkards due to the cost of returning

With regard to returns, we do have a link to Collect Plus on our website where for the discounted price of £4.49 you can send back up to 10 kilo in once package. You can also take back to a Charles Clinkard store where they can arrange a refund for you, or choose any courier of choice. A premium next day service does not need to be used where you would pay extra for a next day delivery. With your shoes having a fault, we would have provided a free return if you had let us know. Beautiful shoes and excellent quality. However, left shoe was faulty and had to return or would have given 5*. Nervous about reordering in case I get same shoes.

I returned a pair of boots and ordered another pair, but on the refund received an extra £10 discount was deducted which I thought was uncalled for. I love the boots though

I was very happy with the notifications for this order. Unfortunately when the text told me that the package was delivered, it was no where to be found. I was very lucky that this was delivered to a close neighbor who brought it over to my house. I was just about to call the company and have it traced. That is always very disconcerting. The shoes are wonderful and they did come quickly.

Bought some women's loafers in the York store recently. They were £110. Not a bargain. Walked out of the shop very pleased with them, comfort, style and quality. But, less than two weeks and two wearings, one shoe split. We took them back. Disappointing, but sales assistant managed to locate another pair but they had to be ordered. They arrived after four working days. Thankfully, they were delivered to our home address so it saved another trek to York from Knaresborough (16 miles each way).

I ordered two pairs of shoes in my normal US/Euro size. They are one-half a size too small. I wanted to return them for a size larger but..........it would cost over $l00 US dollars to ship. So, I will attempt to have one pair stretched and the other pair I will try to sell. Too bad - I loved the little boots. Won't order again.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that the items that you bought did not fit. We sell many European brands of shoes and some can differ a little. The leather on these is very soft and would stretch a little for you. We occasionally get returns back from the USA and find that depending on the courier used, the cost is around $20. My gabour sandles that arrived were to small having ordered a 4.5 my usual in boot size but not it seems in these sandles. I returned my samdles by post at a very costly £8.95 which was far to expensive..i will not be repeating..my refund however was one to two days .

No issue with the goods ordered. I was very happy with the purchase. The courier however took too long holding my parcel. I had my delivery charge refunded however I was very disappointed as I missed a birthday because of it.

Easy to use website. Delivery is quick. BUT no free returns...I keep getting forgetting this. Gets expensive especially when returning heavy walking boots.

I ordered 3 pairs of shoes on line. 2 fitted but I needed to return one pair. I didn’t realise that I had to pay the postage to return them! I had to drive one hour to the nearest shop. Because of this I will not order on line again. However, the quality of the shoes is excellent so if I am near a branch I would shop in store.

Hello Thank you for your review. When orders are placed online, we deliver free of charge for orders over £40, but do ask customers to cover the cost of returns. I’m sorry if the was missed when your order was placed. If you do wish to purchase online again you can use a second class tracked service with Royal Mail which will cost around £3.30 for one pair. We do offer a 365 day return policy if returning to the store is more suitable for yourself, but we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
