I placed my order online to be picked up in-store. The information received was very vague, I didn't know what the process was for store collection and couldn't find anything on the website. The only information I got was for home delivery so wasn't any help at all. It took a full week before I heard anything and that was just to say the order had been despatched. A few days later I called in to my local store to see if my delivery had arrived, it hadn't, I was told they'd ring me the next day either way. My shoes did arrive the next day and the staff did ring but the whole experience has put me off using the website again

Thank you for your review. Our free standard delivery orders are dispatched in 2 to 5 working days there is no difference if it is going to your home or store. Your order was placed on the Thursday and dispatched on Tuesday, the 4th working day. With regard to it arriving in store, we have a van goes to this store on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so as we packaged it on the Tuesday it should be in the store for the Wednesday. This would mean that the order was in the store for collection in less than a week. Colours can look different depending on which browser you are on, and we cannot guarantee a perfect match. We do have this statement on section 2 of our terms and conditions. 2. Product variation and sizing The images of the products on our site are for illustrative purposes only. Although we have made every effort to display colours accurately, a product's true colour may not exactly match that shown on your device or on our website, or in our marketing, your products may vary slightly from those images, and a product's packaging may be slightly different. Thank you for your review. This informaion is all available under our terms and conditions under returns. I am sorry that you did not see this. We send out orders over £40 free of charge, but we do ask customers to return at their own cost or return to one of our stores. You do have up to a year so long as unworn and there are Charles Clinkard stores not too far from you. You can also buy a label on our website, this is £3.20 and is a tracked service with Royal Mail if you prefer to send by post. I hope that this information is of help. Loved these sandals just what I was looking for, but sadly I had to return them as they were too wide and as I walked my foot was sliding forward!!!

CC very good- had to return sandals as I have a black pair of the same style & size but the leather sling back in particular was too loose? Shame because the sandals in black was some of the best I ever had?

I recently ordered some shoes online to be delivered to my local store. When the arrived I received a phone call from the shop to say the shoes were not in a position to be sold as they were odd colours. How on earth did someone send these out to a customer. Were they checked? Shop was helpful but having waited for these to be delivered and paid in advance it would have been nice to be offered compensation.

Thank you for your review. We apologise sincerely that this had happened. We did not have any shoes left within our warehouse and one of our stores supplied them for us. These should have been checked thoroughly for any faults and not sent out unless they were a perfect pair. I don't think they should be charging the customer return postage, particularly if the order is over £50 and if shoes are being ordered for size.

Thank you for your feedback. We do deliver to our customers free of charge and also if an exchange is required, we again cover the cost of postage to the customer. With regard to returns, I am sorry you were unaware that you paid to return an unwanted purchase, this information is in our terms and conditions under returns. The returns portal on our website offers a tracked Royal Mail label from as little as £3.20, or if you have several pairs to return, there is a link to Collect Plus where for for £4.49 you can return up to 10 kilo in one package. I ordered two pairs of different shoes. One pair was fine. The other pair was not acceptable. The ticket on the inside of the shoe had been partly removed and the tissue paper and packaging of the box was scruffy. I got the feeling these shoes had been previously used by someone else. Or at least ordered and returned.

It does state on our website "in order to offer the greatest selection of products, we sometimes source items from our stores. For this reason we cannot guarantee that our items have not been tried on in store at some point. Sale items may have been displayed on racks in our stores also. We adopt a rigorous quality checking procedure which aims to ensure that the products we dispatch meet the high standards that our customers expect. If you are not happy with the product you have received, please contact us on 0345 241 7742 to discuss". I think it is rather unfair to pay for delivery and returns this is unusual these days and would definitely impact on the possibility of me ordering in the future

Thank you for your review. If you return the shoes within 2 weeks of receiving them, your delivery postage is refunded to you. If an order is over £40 then there is no postage charged. With regard to the return postage, there is a link on our website for £3.20 which you can either print out or use a QR code to return via Royal Mail. I do hope that this information helps. Shoes are lovely The only issue I have is that I never got an e-mail to let me know they had arrived at the shop for collection If I hadn’t popped in on my lunch I wouldn’t have known they were ready.

The stores usually call the customer and leave a voice mail message to advise that the shoes are there, if they do not get a reply. Found staff quite aloof and not really interested in me as a customer! Only bought the shoes due to not being able to find my size anywhere else.

Unfortunately my chosen sandals were not comfortable and I needed to return them.I did as advised and sent them back via the Post Office tracked. This cost me over 9 pounds! Which is totally unacceptable. I have never had to pay such a high charge to return an item, and will therefore not be using your web site again.

Thank you for your review. You can take an item back to any Charles Clinkard store to return or send back in the post. We do recommend a tracked service and find that Royal Mail second class with tracking is usually the cheapest method. We would expect the cost to be around £3.60. It does seem as though the postal service have also given a signed for next day service which is not required. There is a link also on our webite offering a tracked label with Collect + which is £4.49. This covers up to 10 kilo so you can return several items in one go. Received order to home fine. Shoes not. So very disappointed, shoes had been clearly worn, stretched and used strap to buckle, dirty soles. Staff great when returning to store (thankyou Warwick) who have requested a replacement which am currently waiting on.

Pleased with receipt of goods however I had to return them as unsuitable and absolutely horrified at the over £10.00 charge to return via our local post office. Will be loathe to order any more.

On the returns page of our website, we have the option to purchase a Yodel label online from as little as £4.49, to take to a drop off point. Ordering process easy. Delivery prompt. But box said £90 & I paid £104.50. I informed the Sales team & they thanked me for letting them know. There was no explanation!
