Shoes too small, not a s8 (41, which is a UK 7.5). Returned.

I wasn’t impressed with the presentation of the shoes I purchased, for the price I paid. The box was damaged and the shoes looked like they had been tried on, and were thrown in the box. When ordered from Josef Seibel directly for the same pair in a different size, there was much more care in how they despatch and package their shoes. So a little disappointed. Also was a slight mark on the shoe but husband was happy to keep the shoes so didn’t complain

We do have replacement tissue and boxes for any that are damaged or not properly packed, I am sorry that this was not used to package your shoes. The boots arrived very quickly, however I ordered black and a pair of tan boots arrived! I had to drive 10 miles to return rather than pay to send them back.

Boots arrived quickly. Unfortunately they were too narrow so had to return. £5.30 to return would put my off further purchases though.

If an order is not suitable we ask customers to cover the cost of returns postage but offer a Royal Mail label on the returns page of our website for £3.20 to give our customers the best price. Alternatively if you are close to a Charles Clinkard branch, you can return instore. Footwork is absolutely fine, but it looks like a returned item. You can see shoes has been tested before and the box is always crumbled. In the past we have returned shoes couple of times after ordering because of this same reason.

Thank you for your review. We do deliver free of charge however you can take any returns back to a Charles Clinkard store if you have one close to you. There is also a link on our website where for the reduced cost of £3.20 you can purchase a Royal Mail tracked return label. We hope that this information may help for future reference. Birkenstocks look fine but surprised to find the price on the box was considerably less than the amount I paid. I guess £72 is the in store price so one does pay for P&P despite website saying that is free.

Unfortunately, the shoes I ordered didn't fit and had to be returned. Having to pay for postage to return doesn't encourage me to use the company unless I can buy in one of the shops.

The shoes and slippers I ordered were great as the last order I had was. delivered on time and well packed. However I was extremely disappointed to find that the shoes Gabor Amulet Size 4 . TThey are comfortable and as I have a couple of different colours in this trainer I wold reccommend them.

I was very disappointed to receive my boots that were not the quality I would expect. I did email customer services along with a picture of the issue and also mentioned that the box that the boots arrived in was digusting and was told this can happen during transit, which I don't believe is the case. I have returned the boots today requesting a replacement pair to be sent out.

The boots arrived and were very good quality. Unfortunately they were too narrow so I had to return them. I found the return portal very ambiguous and downloaded the incorrect label. I ended up paying twice for the return. Other customers beware.

Surprised that staff do not now 'fit' shoes as they used to do. Just hand them to you and watch while you put them on yourself . Are they not trained to help you into shoes with a shoe horn like they did in the past?

They stock Gabor shoes in my size (9). They would have got more stars if the shoes I would like, and there are often several styles, were in stock. The choice goes from hundreds to generally less than 30 and half of those are trained types.

The service from Clinkards was very good. However, the Barbour bag was not the colour I expected; it is described as Olive and the bag is brown which is disappointing.

I actually came in store to try boots, the pair I narrowed down to I asked if they came in leather and half sizes to which I was told they didn’t. Once home I decided to order on line where I realised they came in half sizes and leather. Ordered myself! This wouldnt put me off thought as choice and ease of ordering is still good.

Sadly the first pair of boots I ordered arrived faulty with a broken zip. After a phone call to CC I was sent a prepaid label to return them and a new pair arrived ( perfect this time) as soon as my proof of postage was confirmed. I was, however, disappointed that "quality control" had not picked up the fault before mailing which would have saved me a lot of upset and hassle.

The lady who served us was trying to serve too many people at the same time even though there were other assistants available. I would still recommend the store as you sell excellent shoes.
