The shoes did not fit and I had to send them back and order a different size, it cost me £5 to send them as there is no returns depot in my area. This is outrageous, if the next pair don't fit and I have to send them back, it will have cost £10. It should not be up to the customer to pay for returns.

Hello Sharon Thankyou for your review. We offer free delivery with no minimum spend which is dispatched within 2-5 working days. We currently ask customers to pay towards cost of returning and there are a number of cost efficient services that ca be used to process this. If near to a Charles Clinkard you can return into the store, a refund or an exchange will be processed for you. Collectplus is £4.49 for up to 10KG and is ideal for larger items and multiple pairs whilst Royal Mail have various services available. We appreciate your feedback as this helps to reflect the true level of services offered. We regularly review our terms and conditions and will of course look into the option in the future. Not too keen on the fact the money doesn’t come out straight away. Threw me off a bit when I realised. No option to cancel order on the website. Shoes came ordered size 5 which I am in all shoes but these came a bit big (no advise on website to order smaller size) and there’s no free returns options. Decided to keep the shoes as they will come handy in winter when wearing extra socks. Seemed like too much effort to return them for the price I paid. Only good thing is the price which I was very happy with. Don’t think I will be using your services again though.

Hello Thankyou for your review. Currently we do not take payment until the point of dispatch and are sorry this was inconvenient. As part of our terms and conditions, any requests made by debit or credit card, payment is not taken until we have the item available to send. You may find using Amazon payments/Paypal maybe a more flexible option in the future. With regards to Skechers sizing, each style differs in fit and we cannot guarantee a perfect fit. Size is personal to each customer and the best way to ensure this is by trying for size. You can return an item within 35 days unworn for an exchange or a refund. Returns are payable by the customer however you can take into a Charles Clinkard store and the Team will arrange any refund or an exchange for you. You are welcome to cancel an order or discuss progress by calling 0345 241 7742, the lines are available 7 days a week, as late as 8PM Monday through to Thursdays. I ordered size Junior 1, but received size 1.5. You could have explained that it is according to US size blabla. But what did sending me a pair of two left feet mean?! I have to go to the nearest local shop and return the shoes in person. What a hassle it was!

Hello Thankyou for your email. The Nike style are shown in the UK sizing however the boxes and the shoes will reflect the US sizing. We can understand this would be frustrating an appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We visited the Leeds store today and were served by Amelia. We had to approach her to get assistance even though she wasn’t doing anything and it wasn’t massively busy and she didn’t seem very keen to help or particularly friendly. We were looking for sandals for our little boy which I explained only needed to last the next month or two of the summer. Even though his feet measured a 5, she said she thought he needed a 6 which I thought were far too big and he wasn’t walking as easily in them as the size 5s. I disregarded her advice and bought the 5s which fit well now but still have plenty of growing room. We were undecided between two colours and again she seemed reluctant to have to check the stock room for the ones we wanted in the correct size. She did ask us if we had a loyalty card which we didn’t so we do now so that was something positive. It’s not that she didn’t do her job but there was no service over and above the minimum effort - she really wasn’t eager to help or please us, didn’t smile much or try and interact with our son despite the fact that she was working in the children’s department. Overall, not very impressive and not what I would expect in Clinkards which I consider a quality store. It felt a bit like we were inconveniencing her. Not great.

I ordered a size 5 however received one shoe is a size 5 and the other in a size 6. Thankfully it was resolved, the customer services team and sales assistant in the store were both very helpful with resolving the problem. It was just a shame I didn't receive the correct order to begin with.

Hello, Thankyou for your review We offer a free standard delivery, this is dispatched in 2-5 working days and you have no minimum limit to spend to receive this. Currently we ask customers to return the items at their own cost, if near to a Charles Clinkard store, returns are free however there are many methods you can return your item. Collectplus is £4.49 for up to 10kg and is ideal for larger items and multiple products. This is convenient as it could be your local Petrol Station or a corner shop which is open for longer hours. Post via Royal Mail will vary depending on which service is used, we do ask for the items to be recorded as this protects the customer. The wrong shoes were sent. The box they came in was correct but who ever packed them didn't check the contents.

Purchased a pair ok LK and the pattern has rubbed off in places, looked like they were an after thought sent out due to looking like an old last pair. Really disappointed, didn’t return as would probably cost between £8-£10 die to size and weight. I won’t be purchasing anything from this shop again

I paid for express delivery which meant the shoes should have got to me in 2 days. They didn't and as I had ordered them for a holiday I was unable to take delivery. The packet was then thrown over the back gate by the delivery driver so it was in the rain etc for over a week. I had spoken to customer services before I went away and asked for the parcel to be left with a neighbour. I also asked for the postage and packaging back which I did get. All in all not a good experience and I would think twice before using the on line service again.

Hello Karen, Thankyou for your review. Our Express Service is £2.99 and guarantees dispatch within 2-3 working days. On checking your order we can see a refund was issued for the charge for you. With reference to your request for a safe place, we contacted the courier with your instructions and were assured these would be fulfilled. The parcel was requested to be left with a neighbour and not over a gate, we have raised this internally with the company especially as a specific instruction was not followed. My order was sent to another customer and I received theirs. Was promised a replacement to be sent next day but was not sent until I phoned to chase it Having said that the staff I spoke to on the phone were very apologetic and helpful

Shoes purchased online as walked out of shop due to being ignored and not served by staff. Took a week to arrive. Half order cancelled as bought elsewhere as given up waiting for pumps to arrive yet all of the order then delivered despite being cancelled.

Crocs ordered on a Monday lunchtime, told they were in stock and assured they'd be sent to N/allerton branch by Friday so agreed & paid for them. Phoned N/A was told of the non arrival, also, "the order would not have been sent off until the Tuesday and would take up to 5 working days unless they were sent by post!" Very confusing having been told they were in stock in the first place. Received email the following Tuesday re dispatch so phoned N/A ..... was told 'someone will have phoned to let me know' .... nothing on the answerphone ..... went and collected. I have to say that if I had not been told they were 'in stock' in the first place, I would not have made the purchase as they were required for my son going on holiday that weekend. Perhaps some clarification is required in the first instance when ordering by phone.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry for any confusion in what you have been told. When you order, it can take up to 5 working days to dispatch if you use a standard delivery option (this is a free delivery) this happens wether the item is to go into store for collection or delivered to your home. This is the maximum time that it will take, but will mean that your item will be with you within 6 working days. We do email to let you know when the package is dispatched, when the order arrives in the store, then they should call you to let you know that the order is ready for collection. You should not have had to call to see if it is there. We send a van to our Northallerton store twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday so this may be why they have mentioned that the order would not be in until the Tuesday, but if this meant that it would have been over the given time limit, we would have posted them to store using a next day service so that it would not be late. You can for £2.99 opt for a three day service which will ensure that the item will be with you within 4 working days. I am sorry if you were not offered this as it would have meant that the order would be with you in time. We are genuinely sorry that you have had any inconvenience. Two things were not great: 1. I ordered two pairs of sandals. The first pair (Capri V Flip Womens Toe Post Sandals Colour: Navy/Pool) were not the colour I had ordered (They were navy and cream). However they fitted well and I needed them straight away, so I decided to keep them. 2. The second pair unfortunately didn't fit well (not the fault of Charles Clinkard). My issue is that instructions for returning are misleading, in that they say returns have to be paid for (even though they are then to be to be dropped off at a CC store)). Reluctantly I paid £4. 49 of a label and followed the instructions to take the shoes back to my local Charles Clinkard store, where I was told that I did not have to pay to take shoes that I had ordered online back to the shop. (The shop themselves were most helpful but couldn't give me that money back).

Nice-looking shoes, badly sized. Sent back at my own cost (used Royal Mail as it was cheaper than their recommended courier). Swift refund, just a shame they don’t do free returns - will visit the store next time.

Online purchase was fine. However delivery service is appalling: I did not receive my parcel in the timeline stated; the tracking number I was sent did not work; there was no notification as to who was delivering my parcel (I found out after chasing that it was dpd). In the end, I was told that the delivery sticker had come off my package and couldn’t be delivered as an excuse for the non-delivery. Will not shop here due to the delivery service. Don’t bother going for express delivery/next day as this is what I went for and it did not deliver.
