We went to buy school shoes for our girls (13 years old) while the young lady who served us was very nice, the lack of shoes in either size was unbelievable, no choice what so ever, what is the point in saying you sell school shoes when all you can offer is 1 pair in one size and nothing in the other size. We had ordered 2 pairs off the web site but they didn't fit, it's far too expensive to order several pair for each of them online. I had called the week previous to see what they had in stock, not much but they were expecting more in, obviously not very soon.

Unfortunately the shop did not inform me that my goods had arrived for collection which they should have done. I had to ring in to find out that they were there. I had been waiting for them to arrive and had to collect them on a day which was not convenient for me. If your customers are barred from mentioning poor customer service in their review it is a sham. It is a pity that you do not do research into your customer service.

Your Customer Care team are well aware of my experience but the shoes that I tried to purchase that you were unable to supply because of serious colour fading (blue) on one shoe are still being offered for sale on the website as of 10 minutes ago! Why? Tim Griffin

We have checked the item on our website and the shoe you had issues with are no longer listed on our website if you do a direct search via www.charlesclinkard.co.uk. Should you search via Google for the shoe, as it has been a previously stocked item it will bring it up in the search results however please be assured that this item is no longer available due to the poor quality issues you encountered recently. We check items before they are dispatched and when sourcing the pair of shoes you required, it came to our attention that these were unsuitable to send to yourself due to the poor discolouration. The order was cancelled at that point and no payment was taken. Colour of shoe ordered was not like the colour on website. The shoe box was broke & the paper inside the box that wrapped the shoes in had been well used. There was a sale sticker that had partially been removed from inside one of the shoes & there were marks underneath both shoes as if they had been used.

The shoes took quite a while to get here by post, about 5 days. A lot slower than other companies. When they did arrive they were too small. So not a good experience. I now have to find one of your shops to return them too which the nearest is about 10 miles away or pay postage to return the item. So buying on line is not always a good idea.

Hello, Thankyou for your feedback. When placing on order using our standard delivery we aim to dispatch your items within 2-5 working days. If the items are not in our warehouse we source them from other outlets and this can cause a little delay transporting them to our main dispatch warehouse. We do offer quicker options including: Next Day-This is £5.99 and if the item is in the warehouse and the order is placed before 3pm then we can send this on a Next Day Service. Express-This is £2.99 and guarantees dispatch in 2-3 working days. Currently we do not offer a free returns service as we feel our customers benefit from the free delivery serce that we offer. We do have a generous return policy and you have up to 35 days from the point of receiving these to return them to us for a refund or exchange as long as the item is unworn and in original condition. These can be taken to a store if this is local to you or sent via your local Post Office or the Collectplus Service if this is more convenient. I am sorry you were disapoointed and hope you will consider placing further orders with ourselves and please be assured we are always reviewing our company policies and your comments regarding our returns have been passed on. I think it is absolutely disgusting that customers are expected to pay to return an item! There is not a store in my area to return it to so I had no choice but to pay postage on a pair of boots!!! This is not my idea of good customer service...

We are always reviewing our procedures and please be assured your comments have been passed on. You can return items via Collectplus which costs £4.09 for up to 10KG in weight and is ideal for larger items such as heavy boots. This is the first time I used your company as I have found the Paco Milan shoes I wanted at a discounted price. I received the shoes the label on the tongue of the left shoe was disjointed. I'm disappointed in the fact that these basic checks are not made before an item is distributed out to a customer.

Paid extra £2.99 for express postage and the delivery arrived six days after placing the order, not exactly EXPRESS. Also contacted customer service by telephone to enquire about delivery and the response was abrupt to say the least.

The reason for the poor review is because I waited a long time for delivery with no real information as to when it would arrive. I am hoping this is a one off as I have ordered items on line from your store before with delivery being in a more satisfactory time period.

Ordering and delivery fine. I had tried the Gabor shoes on in a shop before ordering them later online when reduced in price. However the shoes I received had clearly been tried on before as they were too big and had a sale sticker inside one if the shoes. Very disappointed that this product was not up to the quality I had expected from this company.

I was emailed to say order would be delivered Tuesday 22nd and had to be at home. Therefore arranged to pick up at a pick up point on the same day. On the Tuesday I was emailed to say it was delayed until the Wednesday. On the Wednesday got email telling me I had requested a change of date until the Thursday which I did not. I messaged back to this effect but had no reply. Had to then collect on the Thursday when I could have been home on that date for delivery. Not very pleased with service although happy with goods.

Website was more complicated than most. I thought order had not gone through as debit card did no go through so I abandoned order after two hours or so. Received emails from you the next day asking why order was not completed. Rang customer services and explained situation. Spoke to very nice lady who said she would put through order. I said this was much easier than trying on internet. Received slippers spromptly, exactly on time as advised by courier. Received a second order two days later!!! Obviously first order somehow got through. As these slippers are the ones I always wear, I have decided to keep both pairs and will keep the second pair in stock when the first pair wear out.

I purchased a pair of Barbour Boots, size 7 as a Christmas present. I was impressed with the price and free delivery. However this is where it stopped. When the boots arrived, the box looked like it had been in a stampede and the boots within were scratched. The box was crudely taped together in an attempt to hide the damage, and the make and model of the boot was crudely written on the side with permanent marker. Utterly ruining the box design. All of this was no fault of the delivery company as the box was sealed in a Charles Clinkard bag. I contacted the help desk and to be fair, the staff members were extremely helpful in getting my item returned and refunded. I did find out that my boots were the last pair which meant they had clearly been a tester pair, so beware of any shoes which are in low stock! Its just a good job that i ordered the boots well in time for Christmas and had time to return them and buy elsewhere!

Unfortunately when we do have a item that is showing as low stock it may have been in our stores so may have been tried on and handled regularly we also do not receive replacement boxes from Barbour so the boxes can become damaged during this time however they should not be sent to you in a poor condition. My shoes arrived on time, i have two complaints, ( first.), the left shoes was scuffed on the heal and the sole was marked, When you pay £89 99 for new shoes ( they should be new ) ( next ) I had the shoes returned by post it cost me £8 as a signature, for returned goods was required, Angela
