Recent purchase was a bad experience. I like Charles Clinkards as have previously found them good esp with kids shoes so as my baby needed his first pair we trekked off to the shop 20miles away. They didn't have the right size/width so I ordered a pair to be delivered. The couriers Interlink are terrible and must really be costing you business. I guess they must be cheap to use? The courier threw my package over our 6FT garden fence and considered it 'delivered'. Unfortunately, we have a dog and guess where it landed ? Once sanitised I opened the package and the shoes did not fit. I took them back to another store who measured my son a completely different size. I am now awaiting a 2nd delivery. Overall the process is now going for over 2 weeks. I just want to buy a pair of shoes from a shoe shop!!! Does it need to be this much aggro?

Delivery fast and free which is good, but most other companies offer free returns - will not order online again unless this policy changes.

On this occasion the £210 pair of suede pull-on boots I ordered arrived screwed up in the box - no cardboard inserts or packing inside the boots to keep them in shape during transit. On one boot there was a sticky label and dusty marks (as if been left on a dusty floor) although it brushed off. Not how I would expect to receive and expensive pair of boots. Quick delivery.

Great shoes but standard delivery time of 7-10 days is abysmal and shows this company is clearly out of touch with its competition. 2 days just to despatch? Why does it take 2 days to put a pair of shoes in a box? Other companies despatch AND deliver within 2 days.

We quote 2-5 working days for despatch as sometimes stock availability cannot be guaranteed in our warehouse and therefore we have to source from elsewhere on the company. I thought my experience with the site and the service was good - payment was easily processed and item was quickly delivered - but unfortunately Charles Clinkard don't offer free returns, and that is a huge issue for me (and I know, for my friends) as shoes are something that need to be tried on and, when buying online, there's a high chance that they won't fit properly/look the same one they are delivered. For me and my friends, being able to return and exchange for free is very important as it gives us the peace of mind that we can find something that fits properly. Therefore, sadly I will not recommend Charles Clinkard to my friends.

ordered shoes in store to get a phonecall days later saying cant get hold of stock money will be refunded. After 2 weeks of messing about I ordered same shoes different colour from Clinkards would have liked to be given alternatives in the first instance.

Disappointed with service for the 2nd time this year. Such a shame standards have slipped. You used to be so reputable. Now it's like I'm dealing with a car boot stall!! Trainers arrived 'tatie' & marked. Laces destroyed! All be it an additional (plain) pair was provided in box. Pricing Error. Trainers arrived with half price sticker of £17.50 yet I paid more. Rung customer services and there's nothing they can do! Bravo Charles Clinkard you have lost my custom!

We have a rigorous quality checking procedure at Charles Clinkard and therefore shoes should not be received in a marked condition – if you would like to return these to us, we would be happy to replace these for you. On top of that, please be assured I will be looking into how you received them in that condition. I have spoken to Patricia, who you called regarding the price query, but unfortunately there was no mention of your disappointment with the quality of the item you received just the price, otherwise we would of course have offered a prepaid label for you to return and replace them. The prices we have online are the same that we have in store and I can confirm that the item you purchased was on sale for £20 rather than the £17.50 you queried. For the disappointment this has caused you, i have refunded this £2.50 for you today, but please be assured that this is not the price we are selling these shoes at and I hope you will accept our apologies for the confusion caused. We pride ourselves on the quality of the shoes we offer but If you are ever unhappy with the quality of an item or the service you receive from us, please don't hesitate to get in touch. usually I have on problem with Charles Clinkard .. Love this site. But this time I'm still waiting for my order to arrive .. Tracked it and it was delivered to the main post office centre.. then to be delivered to the local post office nor delivery to me .. Still waiting . I wouldn't recommend Charles Clinkard to friends with this poor service .

Hello Sarah, Thank you for your email and I am sorry to hear your parcel is taking longer than usual. Delivery to Northern Ireland can sometimes take slightly longer - and it is the norm that delivery goes to a hub before distribution to local post offices. I think the Bank Holiday may have had some effect on your delivery, because the delivery service we use hasn't changed from the previous time you placed your order. I can see from the tracking information that you have your parcel now, but in future, we can always chase your parcel for you on your behalf should you wish to query its whereabouts. Ordered a pair of Sandels in your sale at £40 but when I went to the shop to try them on each Sandel was a different colour. Had to buy a pair at £55 for my holiday. Not good business, should have been checked before sending out.

The Gabor shoes were very wide and therefore this should have been shown as other styles

The service from the shop attendants and call centre was excellent. What let down this experience was the delivery of the pair of shoes I ordered with two shoes of different sizes in the box. The delay caused has been highly inconvenient.

Sadly I am just about to return these saddles and I am very disappointed firstly having to pay to return them & I feel that these straps could not fit any normal ankle they are to short and do not go around ankles very upset . A .T Stannard Mrs

Ordered a pair of shoes on the 7th of August for my son ready for back to school. Was originally told they would take 5 days to come into the store. So on Friday 14th I called into the store to be told my sons shoes had still not arrived and to call on Monday 17th. So today Tuesday 18 th August I've had to call the store to see where my purchase is, only to be told it's still not arrived . I kindly asked the assistant to chase the order and could she call me back . Once she did only to be told this time my purchase had been mixed up with the adult section upstairs . I'm not happy because how long have they really been sitting in the store . As you can appreciate this time of year is busy enough trying to organise back to school items.

One product I bought was then sold out and another product was sent but the wrong size! Still waiting to hear if you have the correct size and the return label so I can return the incorrect pair!

Sizing seems off. I have 2 pair of Josef Seibel shoes in 39 that fit well, so I ordered that size & they are too big. The box they arrived in was smashed. You were the only ones with the style & color I wanted so I ordered from you. However this is the last out of country order I will make.

Hello Sheila, Thank you for your email and I am sorry that the style we sent is not suitable. In regards to the box being smashed, I am sorry that this has happened. We do make every effort to package our parcels to ensure they remain intact for the duration of their journey . We regularly dispatch our orders globally and fortunately this problem is very rare. The main use for the box is to protect the shoes, so hopefully even though the box is smashed, the shoes have been protected as a result. The order was great, was advised approx time to be delivered, however the main reason I ordered so many pairs was that I could try all sizes and styles (for my daughters wedding) Alas none were suitable but I knew there was a store I could return them at the Trafford Centre, but the store had closed down and instead I had to return the by post! at a cost of £26.00!!!!! Had I known it had closed I would not have ordered so many and not had to pay a ridiculous postage fee!!!!! If you decide to close stores, it might be an idea to offer free returns????

When I ordered the shoes from Charles Clinkard the form asked if there were any specific delivery instructions, I put that I would like the parcel left at the back porch, unfortunately Royal Mail tried to deliver the parcel but I wasn't in and so the parcel was taken back to the delivery office and so I had to make a special journey to collect it, on examination of the labelling on the parcel there was no mention of leaving the parcel in the back porch, I find this really annoying that you are asked to say where you would like the parcel left and everyone ignores it!!!

Hello Liz, Thank you for you taking the time to review your purchase. I have spoken to the Witney branch who do remember you popping in. They said they had only received your order into store the day you went in for it - and they hadn't finished unpacking their click and collect deliveries. We do contact our customers via email and phone once we have received them in store, but obviously there might be a few hour gap between delivery of the parcel and actual contact, due to unpacking the stock and quality checking the contents.
