I have returned these shoes. Disappointed with them, the trim on the front of the shoes was very loose consequently when walking the trims rattled. I think a design fault. I would think very hard before buying another pair of shoes from Clinkards due to the cost of returning

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the chain on the shoes rattled as you walked and have refunded in full the cost of the shoes to you. With regard to returns, we do have a link to Collect Plus on our website where for the discounted price of £4.49 you can send back up to 10 kilo in once package. You can also take back to a Charles Clinkard store where they can arrange a refund for you, or choose any courier of choice. A premium next day service does not need to be used where you would pay extra for a next day delivery. With your shoes having a fault, we would have provided a free return if you had let us know. Beautiful shoes and excellent quality. However, left shoe was faulty and had to return or would have given 5*. Nervous about reordering in case I get same shoes.

I returned a pair of boots and ordered another pair, but on the refund received an extra £10 discount was deducted which I thought was uncalled for. I love the boots though

Unfortunately, the 10% discount was applied on the first order, when you returned your order, you placed a new order (your second order) rather than an exchange for your first order which the discount code was not eligible for. I was very happy with the notifications for this order. Unfortunately when the text told me that the package was delivered, it was no where to be found. I was very lucky that this was delivered to a close neighbor who brought it over to my house. I was just about to call the company and have it traced. That is always very disconcerting. The shoes are wonderful and they did come quickly.

Bought some women's loafers in the York store recently. They were £110. Not a bargain. Walked out of the shop very pleased with them, comfort, style and quality. But, less than two weeks and two wearings, one shoe split. We took them back. Disappointing, but sales assistant managed to locate another pair but they had to be ordered. They arrived after four working days. Thankfully, they were delivered to our home address so it saved another trek to York from Knaresborough (16 miles each way).

I ordered two pairs of shoes in my normal US/Euro size. They are one-half a size too small. I wanted to return them for a size larger but..........it would cost over $l00 US dollars to ship. So, I will attempt to have one pair stretched and the other pair I will try to sell. Too bad - I loved the little boots. Won't order again.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that the items that you bought did not fit. We sell many European brands of shoes and some can differ a little. The leather on these is very soft and would stretch a little for you. We occasionally get returns back from the USA and find that depending on the courier used, the cost is around $20. You may find that you can find a lower cost service to ship your items back. Kind regards, Janice - customer services

My gabour sandles that arrived were to small having ordered a 4.5 my usual in boot size but not it seems in these sandles. I returned my samdles by post at a very costly £8.95 which was far to expensive..i will not be repeating..my refund however was one to two days .

Thank you for your review. You can return your order to any Charles Clinkard store or return by post. There is a link on our website to Collect Plus, from here you can buy a label for £4.49 which covers up to10 kilos of returns in one package. Alternatively to keep costs low, you can send back Royal Mail second class and pay 80p extra for tracking. This would bring the cost down to aproximately £3.50. No issue with the goods ordered. I was very happy with the purchase. The courier however took too long holding my parcel. I had my delivery charge refunded however I was very disappointed as I missed a birthday because of it.

Easy to use website. Delivery is quick. BUT no free returns...I keep getting forgetting this. Gets expensive especially when returning heavy walking boots.

I ordered 3 pairs of shoes on line. 2 fitted but I needed to return one pair. I didn’t realise that I had to pay the postage to return them! I had to drive one hour to the nearest shop. Because of this I will not order on line again. However, the quality of the shoes is excellent so if I am near a branch I would shop in store.

Hello Thank you for your review. When orders are placed online, we deliver free of charge for orders over £40, but do ask customers to cover the cost of returns. I’m sorry if the was missed when your order was placed. If you do wish to purchase online again you can use a second class tracked service with Royal Mail which will cost around £3.30 for one pair. We do offer a 365 day return policy if returning to the store is more suitable for yourself, but we are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your review. We deliver free of charge, but do ask customers to cover the cost of returns. You can use a second class service with Royal Mail to keep costs down, for one pair. Royal Mail postage is around £2.85 and you can add tracking for aproximately 80p more. If you use a next day signed for service with Royal Mail, then that could increase to up to £11+ but you do not need to use such a service. Alternatively you can take back to a Charles Clinkard store or follow the link to Collect Plus which is on our website that is £4.49 and covers up to 10 kilos. Nice shoe, comfortable low wedge and a great price but too big. I’m a size 7 they felt like an 8! Sadly returned. Have to pay for returns yourself which is a disappointment.

Ordered size3 but too big.Looking at the size printed on the sole it shows 3.5,which I work out as 31/2 ,not what I ordered.Shoes on the way back.Disappointed as they were just the style and colour I wanted.

As Soft line Jana is a European brand, they sell their products with EU sizing, and we equate them to closest UK size on our website. We have stated on our website that this product is a size 3. However, on closer inspection I can see this is listed as UK size 3.5 on the shoe itself. We would be happy to refund your postage once this arrives back with us. I went into your Newcastle shop, chose the shoes that I liked & waited for someone to serve me which never happened & after 30 minutes I left. I went home & purchased the shoes cheaper on your website. This is not the first time that there has been no staff in the men's section.

Delighted with the fast service, unfortunately, despite ordering shoes of my normal size the boots were too big. A pity CC do not offer the same free returns policy as other firms. Will not be using them again for shoes/boots or items that depend on personal sizing.

Good prices and delivered when promised. Suspect the shoes may have been ex display as they'd been unpacked and had retail price stickers on them and it would maybe have been nice to know that prior to purchase but there was no issues with them.

Unfortunately the shoes will have to be returned as they are very small however, due to having to pay return costs, I am waiting until I can visit a store. I am between Cambridge and Milton Keynes however, it looks like the Cambridge store has closed down so I'm waiting until I need a trip to MK. The range of shoes at Charles Clinkard is great but I really resent having to pay for expensive returns and this puts me off ordering again.
