Speedy delivery...but....right shoebox wrong contents....different make,size,colour. Have to say person I spoke to was fantastic very prompt action, organised return & refund quickly.

Cheryl was very friendly and helpful when I 'phoned about a delivery problem but the Gabor trainers I ordered, though an almost identical style to ones I bought last year from your Cheltenham shop, had zips which were almost impossible to fasten & I couldn't take the risk that the leather might never soften enough to release the zips a little. (The ones I bought last year are in "Nusoft"(?)) They were comfortable & I'm sorry to have to return them, sorry also that Royal Mail with tracking cost more than £11, and disappointed that there appears to be no Clinkards in Herts. where I now live. I rate your shops highly but sadly can't afford to take the risk of ordering online in future.

We are constantly updating styles to try and make our products better, in style and material, I believe you may have ordered the most recent version of the Gabor Dolly, If you ever feel like your order has a problem you can contact us, we may be able to assist. I’m sorry to hear how much you have paid to return your shoes to us, we do offer services for a much cheaper alternative. You can return your order to any of our stores for free. You can purchase a collect plus label from our website for £4.50 or you can also use Royal Mail, second class tracked service is a very popular option and this can start from as little as £3.30. Wasn't very happy with the service. The lady in the shop failed to state on the order that it was express delivery, although charged for this service. Called customer service they said that it would be delivered am on Saturday and said to refund extra charge (don't know if I have received this yet). They arrived about 15.00. Saturday, which was too late as I wanted them before that and had already left home. The shoes are fine.

I’m sorry the express delivery charge was not explained to you in store; however, this would have been the only service that could have potentially got your shoes to you on time. I can see the delivery charge has now been refunded. Unfortunately, we can not predict the time of delivery for our couriers, until the day of delivery when the tracking becomes active. Disappointed that I had to pay for return postage as shoes were too small though I had ordered usual size. I'll read the small print more carefully if I order again.

Very happy with delivery & purchaser but since the shoes did not fit me ,I needed to return the goods, (2pair of boots,& I had to pay for recorded delivery which was over 10£ .Next time I will try & order from Amazon.To exspensive for me.Mrs Wilson

Thank you for your review. You can purchase a label on our website for £4.49 which is with CollectPlus and covers up to 10 kilo of returns. We do recommend using a tracked service, this can be purchased for aproximately 80p more that the postage, which if you use second class would be about £3.00 at the post office. If you use recorded or next day delivery, this is expensive but you do not need to do this. You can also take back to a Charles Clinkard store. I hope that this helps for future reference. Very limited stock of what you can see on-line actually in the Newbury store, so had to order in two pairs of boots and pay for both to just try them on. Received email to say had been dispatched but no email to say they had arrived at the store and therefore over a week from my order until was able to try on and get refund for the pair I didn't want. Surely there must be a better way of serving customers in 2023?

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you found the stock that they had in the Newbury store was not what you wanted and that they had to order them in for you. We do have a very large range of shoes and try to keep our stores stock as close to this as we can, but some of our items do have to be sourced from our other stores if stock is getting low, and this is what has happened here. I ordered 2 pairs of sandals size 3 and size 4 as I wasn't sure of the fit. I didn't realise at the time that I would have to pay the return postage which I was surprised about.

Thank you for your review. We do deliver free of charge but ask the customer to cover the cost of returns. You can take back to a Charles Clinkard store where they will arrange the refund for you, or use a second class postal service to keep costs down. We would recomment paying a little more for tracking so you can see when they arrive with us, this is usually about 80p more if you use Royal Mail, but you do not need to use a next day service as this would increase the price a lot. You can also find on our website a link to CollectPlus and this costs £4.49 for a return label that will cover up to 10 kilo. I hopet that this iinformation is of help. Lovely boots and reasonably quick delivery but they definitely were not wide fit so had to return them. Also they were cheaper in other retailers than at Charles Clinkard Also the box was battered which I wouldn't have expected.

Thank you for your email. We do not have these advertised as wide fit, so I am sorry that you thought that they were. With regard to the price of the boots, if you find that another store similar to ours that have stores and an online service that have your colour and size in stock, we would price match. However if it was a discount store, or ebay etc we would not. The box is there ultimately to protect the shoes and we are sorry that it had been damaged, we do hope that the shoes remained unscathed and the box did its job. Unfortunately the boots I ordered were not suitable, but very impressed by the swift refund. Money back into my account within 48 hours. The only gripe I had was paying return carriage.

The boots arrived in good time but I was really disappointed at the fabric, it didn't seem that it would work if wet & rainy and seemed to look cheap. The boots also only came mid calf so I decided to return them...thus is where I was really disappointed...I had to pay £9 postage to return them, no options to take to local store where they have courier service etc. I will only ever order from John Lewis in future as I can drop returns onto local waitrose.

Very little stock in store hence having to order on line. The website says postage is free but this is only half true because postage is free for delivery but we have to pay returns. This is based on the cost of the shoes and therefore cost me £8.95 because I needed a larger half size. I will be very reluctant to purchase from them again.

We do deliver free of charge and if an exchange is needed we again cover the postage for the replacement item to the customer. We do ask the customer to cover the cost of returns if posting back to us. You can take returns back to a Charles Clinkard store and you have up to one year to do this so long as the item is unworn. You do have a Charles Clinkard store not too far from you. They can arrange the refund or an exchange if needed. I hope that this helps if you do order in future. Have ordered quite a few times from you before and have had no bother at all, but this time I don't know why it would not allow me to have a home delivery and the shop it was being sent too was a car ride away and not that near, I was given a delivery date of the 21st which was then cancelled and then another date of the 28th which I didn't receive the code for till the next day so this time I'm not satisfied

I am sorry that you were not able to choose your own address for delivery, it appears that you have chosen click and collect in error and you have had to choose a DPD pick up shop. These are lovely slippers. However I ordered a size 5 and my big toe is right at the end with no room. I therefore feel I have to return them. :-( I have ordered from Charles Clinkard before so do like the company, and would order from them again. Have just been unfortunate on this occasion. I ordered these through Amazon.
