“I had an excellent experience buying an Audiolab 8300CD from AE. As the Creek player that I had originally intended to buy was no longer available, they recommended the Audiolab and offered it at the lower price of the Creek. They provided very helpful advice over the phone, and making the purchase was completely straightforward. They offered a choice of courier with the flexibility for Saturday delivery that I needed, and the player arrived via DPD as arranged. It was good to see it well-packaged in a strong box with dense foam support inside instead of just polystyrene, and unusually, the box was sealed in clear plastic. After a week of listening to many different CDs I am happy that the player delivers what I was looking for - a slightly more relaxed, hence less tiring presentation for sustained listening than my Denon DCD1600NE, particularly for recordings that are anything less than top-notch. The Audiolab mostly manages to avoid the slight treble harshness I experience with some original instrument baroque recordings when using the Denon, and it extracts at least the same very high level of detail. Bass extension is impressive, but at first seemed a little over-blown with some recordings. This was with the same type of Atlas interconnect I have found I prefer with the Denon, but everything sounds somewhat better-balanced having changed to cheaper QED cables. Of course, this may really mean that the Audiolab was showing-up weaknesses elsewhere in my system! To my ears the Denon still marginally out-performs the Audiolab with the best recordings, seemingly achieving a shade more spaciousness and realism. But that is fine; it is much as I expected and it was always my intent to have both players connected anyway. I should say that I have mainly listened to the Audiolab using the "Optimal Transient" filter so far. Differences between the filters are very difficult to detect (to my ears) based on immediate comparisons and my sense is that their main value may be to subtly adjust how "comfortable" the sound is for extended listening more than anything else. I find the appearance and build of the 8300CD (I chose black) very pleasing. It is not obvious from most reviews, but the side and top panels appear to be aluminium as well as the facia, and they are very well finished. The assembly is also accurate and solid, generally as good as the Denon, though the substitution of what is a somewhat flimsy CD drawer on the Denon with a slot-loader on the 8300CD is a welcome improvement. The only real evidence of cost saving is to be found with the feet, which are simple screwed-in mouldings (complete with obvious moulding marks!), but the front ones are well-recessed under the player so there is no issue in practice. The player comes with a full-function, neat-looking, and well-made aluminium-faced remote control (note: black rather than silver with black player, contrary to what some images suggest). There is no need to touch any of the buttons on the facia. The slot-loader works well, albeit it sounds a little crude for the couple of seconds it takes to load or eject a disc. However, there is no detectable transport noise when playing and it reads discs exceptionally quickly. The OLED display is also very clear and easily dimmed or turned-off. So, all things considered, I recommend the Audiolab 8300CD and I certainly have no hesitation in recommending AE.”

“I can’t consider myself an audiophile but I know what I like when it comes to sound. Gordon at Audio Emotion appeared to recognise what I was looking for when it came to upgrading my turntable and amp. Its been an absolutely pleasurable delight to correspond, interact and converse with Gary and Marion across the varied platforms of communications. Both have been polite, responsive and caring of the service they provide. The newly released product I invested my time and money in wasn't quite ready for despatch due to overwhelming demand. And its clear to see, indeed hear upon receipt, making the several week wait inconsequential. Words from me with regard to the product - Triangle Borea BR03's would do no justice. Instead, I strongly encourage to look to the, albeit limited reviews, but nevertheless availability across the globe. It gives great pleasure to concur with those that raise awareness of such. “I bought from them over seas ( Netherlands) but even across this distance I met very friendly emails somehow better or more genuine than I am used to. All questions answered with explanations plus photos. The unit I bought was promptly shipped and packed. The kind of service and knowledge you long for but which big (international ) companies with anonymous service departments although mostly friendly cannot provide anymore.”

“I found Audio emotion Ltd by chance while searching for some Tannoy eaton speakers. I found a great deal on a pair on their website and paid for them on line. Unfortunately they had been sold only hours earlier. My sales man Gary, feeling badly, gave me a terrific deal as he placed an order for new ones.
