“The flowers arrived on time and looked reasonable on initial inspection. They were sunflowers and had lots of leaves with the flowers, some of which had huge holes in, so they looked quite unsightly. But on the whole, I initially thought that they were ok. Unfortunately, on the day that they arrived for my mum (who I was looking after due to her recent heart surgery), I didn't really look at them very closely and only had time to put them in a vase with water (and the provided flower food), as I had to go with my mum to A&E. Over the next 2 or 3 days, the leaves began to look very, very horrible, as they wilted and scrunched up. This made the overall look of the sunflowers quite disappointing. I took some of the leaves off in passing, so as to keep them looking reasonable. As the main concentration of the last 5 days has been to look after my mum, I didn't take advantage of the "happiness guarantee" and it's probably a bit late now to do so, as I don't have photos of the previous few days leaf deterioration, and how they looked when they arrived. I wasn't going to even bother writing a review, until my mum received and bunch of sunflowers from a friend from M&S. These sunflowers contain 95% less leaves and the flowers themselves are significantly larger and more beautiful. Putting them in a vase for my mum, they looked considerably more stunning and how I wish mine had looked. I've ordered once from appleyard flowers, but it was an orchid. The orchid would certainly be 5 stars, but maybe their live plants are better than flowers. I'm not yet sure how I feel about ordering again from them in the future.”
