About Crazy Color:

Crazy Color® was launched in 1977 in the midst of the punk rock explosion in Britain. In a time that anarchy and free expression ruled supreme, one hairstylist was growing tired of the same natural color palette. Renato Brunas was at the height of his hairdressing career and was set to push the boundaries of color even further when he developed a new range of rainbow shades. Thus Crazy Color® was born and over 40 years later our ethos is the same, we want you to express yourself unapologetically. In every iconic pink bottle is a color that is ready to turn heads. “Ordered the Lilac. Turned into a dark, jean blue. After drying I saw it lighten up a little bit but it’s still blue. Not blue-purple, but blue. And the color didn’t hold on yellower patches of my bleached hair. My hair is fairly white, but some patches are yellower than others and the color didn’t hold and left a green tint.”

Hi, thank you for the review; we really appreciate it. We are sorry that you had a negative experience using Lilac. We recommend lightening hair to a level 9 or 10 (blonde) before applying to achieve the best result. This shade does have blue undertones and if any other tones or colour remains in the hair when applied, it may impact the result. “The black is red based and gave my dark brown hair a darker brown reddish shade. The colour stained the shower walls and floor quicker than I could have expected and it took me a bottle if toxic bleach to clean it up. I know how to wash hair professionally and it left my hair dry. I purchased the red colour as a gift and will warn the recipient to not use it unless she knows my review.”

“Loving it! Hadn't even lightened my hair before applying the pink and blue dyes. It had been pink/purple and blue before. The pink therefore didn't cover the purple very well and I decided to go over it again by mixing the two colours and making purple to help cover it better. Worked a treat! Very happy with it!”

“I've been using crazy colour for over a year now, super happy with the products! Easy to use, great price, lots of gorgeous vibrant colours to choose from. The colour stays bright for around a month but often fades into a nice lighter shade of the original colour (eg the bright pinks fade to a nice peachy tone) so I normally go 2 months between dying and that's with washing my hair 3 times a week, colour lasts longer if you wash with cold water too.”

“Disclaimer that this review is for un-lightened hair only. lightened/ bleached hair almost certainly gets different results. I'm a natural red head and wanted to dye my hair Black and Red as they're the only colours capable of covering my natural colour without muddying. I purchased the vermillion red (no.40), fire (no.56) and black (no.030) dyes in 100ml. I applied as instructed over my natural unbleached towel dried hair and gave a full 30 minutes before washing out with cold water. First thing I noticed was the water did not run clear even after rinsing for over 45 minutes. I towel dried my hair again and simply wore clothes that coukd be stained for the remainder of the day. once dry it was very clear the black colour in particular had not taken, so the next day I reapplied the black letting it sit for a full hour before rinsing with cold water. Also noted in this rinse that the red was still bleeding significantly when being re-wet. once dry the black still seemed transparent looking more like a muddy brown with some purple hues where it had mixed with some red. when I washed my hair (in cold water) days later, I had significant colour bleeding, and the black washed out to the way it had looked after the first dye. It's apparent that with this brand on my unbleached hair, I will be unable to wear any light clothing as the colour bleeds easily at the first sign of moisture. The red looks good, with fire being an increadibly bright hue and vermillion being a richer color. I just wish the black had taken and that I didn't have to deal with constant colour bleed any time it rains or I need to dampen my hair. I am comparing my experience with this brand to that of Arctic Fox where I had much better coverage and colour holding.”

Hi, thank you for the review; we really appreciate it. Sorry, to hear that you have had a negative experience with our product. Our semi-permanent dye with the correct aftercare should last up to 8-12 washes. Our anti-bleed spray is great for preventing the colour to run also. Some of our recommended aftercare tips are to not wash your hair for 48hrs after dying. Use a good shampoo and conditioner when you do that's kind to colour (such as our own). However, there is more information available on our website.
