About Crazy Color:

Crazy Color® was launched in 1977 in the midst of the punk rock explosion in Britain. In a time that anarchy and free expression ruled supreme, one hairstylist was growing tired of the same natural color palette. Renato Brunas was at the height of his hairdressing career and was set to push the boundaries of color even further when he developed a new range of rainbow shades. Thus Crazy Color® was born and over 40 years later our ethos is the same, we want you to express yourself unapologetically. In every iconic pink bottle is a color that is ready to turn heads. “i bought the candy floss shade to use on bleached hair. the colour was really nice but washed out after one wash which was really disappointing since it says it should last 10-12 washes. won’t be using again”

“Ordered 4 bottles of lilac as I have a lot of hair, all 4 arrived with lilac written on the bottle but 1 had pink dye inside so had to reorder another one. Now I’ve put it on my bleached hair, followed all instructions etc. and it has come out blue. Not happy at all.”

“I don’t have a single good thing to say about this product and if I could leave 0* I would. The product is so runny and liquidy it’s like water which makes application impossible. I used three bottles for half of my hair (split dye) and it STILL did not come out the colour it was supposed to/it says it would. It was patchy, basically pastel, and I cried when I saw how it looked like. My hair feels like it’s ruined.”

“Rebel UV is advertised as hot pink, so I expected hot pink when applying. The bottle says it works best on bleached hair, so I was fairly sure I was in the clear colour-wise. Instead, the colour came out incredibly pale despite being left to sit for over half an hour before being washed off. It also came out patchy, which could theoretically be user error, but I had far more dye in the bottle than necessary for my short hair and my whole head of hair felt fully saturated. On a plus side, the delivery was quick and efficient. Just a shame about the product.”

“I recently purchased Ruby Rouge semi permanent due to my original Color being out of stock although the colour looked vibrant it was extremely disappointing, as the colour ran stained my garments which was a real shame, I washed my hair with crazy Color shampoo and my own and this still stained my nails I purchased a few bottles and was told to upload batch No (I’ve done so) and this will be investigated. In addition, correspondence is extremely poor with the crazy Color team stating they will get back to me, I’m still waiting this is terrible customers service. I’ve been using crazy Color since I was 14 years old, and am now in my 50’s this shows over the years I am a avid customer and believe at the time crazy color revolutionised hair colouring, as it’s kind to my hair and it’s vegan friendly hence why I am still here!!! So come on crazy color show the same quality of care to your customers by corresponding when need be!!!! I would like a refund”

“First of all, this hair dye doesn't come out black, it comes out a dark brown, nowhere near as dark as it advertises. Secondly, expect it to get on everything, even after your hair is completely dry. I understand hair dye can transfer but, a week after I've dyed it is ridiculous. Finally, it did not last even one wash.”

“I got the lavender colour and it turned out as a grey blue colour and I used a full bottle on my hair, I followed all directions properly too.”

Hi, thank you for your review we do appreciate it. Sorry, to hear that you have had a negative experience with our products and customer service. Purple does have undertones of blue and may have gone bluer due to any remaining color in your hair. All of our hair colors with the correct aftercare should last up to 8-12 washes.

For our semi-permanent hair dye, we do recommend lightening your hair to a level 9 or 10 (blonde) before application. The result may have also not been as advertised on our shade chart due to any remaining colour in the hair.
