Well, where do I start? My adventures with Lowa started before I had even heard of them. A cancer diagnosis followed by major surgery and chemotherapy In 2017 changed my life. During Chemo, I started walking to pass the time, I was walking further and further every day so I decided I’d like to walk a marathon distance for Macmillan to thank them for the way they nursed me. I had read that I need to train in the shoes that I planned to do the walk in, so a visit to Cotswold Outdoor where my feet were measured and Lowa Sirkos GTX were recommended. I tried them on, liked them and bought them. 6 months later in June 2018 I completed my walk, raising £2k for the charity. Throughout my training, which was gruelling and the walk, not one blister. Since that time walking dropped off a bit but I lived in those shoes, I loved them. 2 years later and coronavirus hit, I was stranded in Portugal, I didn’t want to come home and I didn’t need to, so I started walking again, doing daily long distances (Average 12 miles) on variable surfaces, then tragedy, my wonderful shoes succumbed to wear and tear and the sole started peeling away from the upper at the front of the shoe. They were still useable but I had to move quickly, I ordered a new pair, same style, and had them delivered to a company that runs a truck to Portugal every week. I picked them up from that company’s Portuguese depot yesterday 15/04/2020. They fitted perfectly, and this morning I walked 12 miles completely effortlessly. Thank you Lowa for a superb shoe and fantastic service. I will be back. You should be very proud of your products. And the old shoes? They are still useable for the moment and will become my gardening shoes, they are still watertight, so why not?

The laces were as ordered and came within the time described. the only downside was that the postage was more than the laces

Lowa Renegade ll shoes are like a game of two halves. The first half, the uppers are stylish, robust, provide excellent support and wear well. The second half, footbed and soles are a different matter. The footbed is hard and after walking 4-5 miles my feet are numb. The Vibram soles are very poor and do not wear well at all. The heels in particular were worn through very quickly. Not a great advert for a top manufacturer. I've had several other brands of shoe including Salomon, Merrell and Meindl, all of which are more comfortable over longer distances and their durability is much better.

As always, prompt service from Lowa and a first class pair of boots. I think this is my twelfth pair of Renegades and I wouldn't use any other. Thank you.

Quick delivery - very pleased. Have only had the boots for a week and due to the current world situation have not had the chance to test them on a long hike yet. Have worn them around the farm, however, to break them in - they were comfy out of the box and the only thing is to learn how tight to have the lower section of laces so the boot grips my feet but doesn't dig into the top of the foot. I like the locking system for the laces and they seem to be a good boot very pleased.

In these rather dire times, I was amazed to find that Lowa are still operating - thank you James! . My boots developed a stitching problem which was covered by warranty. To my amazement i) Lowa were still working in these difficult times and ii) I had new boots within a matter of days. My previous pair of Lowa boots lasted over 10 years! The company deserves huge praise for its products, its service and its staff!!!

Great service and the shoes are getting more comfortable each time I wear them. Its a shame that currently the coronavirus means I can't wear them for more than an hour or so.

This is a review for the Lowa CAMINO GTX model. I have used these boots for a few years now and they're holding themselves fine. I used them to do the "Southern Upland Way" (March 2020) and many other hikes, including 7 days in Switzerland doing a "via alpina." They offer great grip on all terrains, excellent level of protection against rocks and water (they are very good at keeping water out). The outsole is (as listed in the specs) rigid so you better have some socks with good cushioning. I much prefer a rigid outsole that does not flex (for high mileage, like a 40km/day, this is truly beneficial). The downside of it is only when you walk in tarmac (your feet will suffer more than they would with softer outsoles, a price l'm willing to pay as my hikes are hardly ever through tarmac). The lacing system is a joy. Super easy to put the boots on/off, easy to find the right amount of tension, no hot spots, just excellent. Remember not to store them in a box and follow Lowa storing/care instructions. All in all, an excellent boot for (multi-day) hiking/trekking. The only 'negative' I can find is the weight. I wish Lowa could find a way to reduce their weight while offering exactly the same level of comfort, protection and durability. Maybe l'm asking too much. Lowa, don't lower the weight at the expense of offering us a lower end product. The boots are truly excellent as they are. Highly recommended for the listed activities (they'll be a total overkill for just walking or doing so in easy terrains). PS: Shame I can't upload a picture.

The boots arrived promptly. Sadly they are very narrow. Send them back but can’t get to returns point due to Covid 19.
