“Always easy and quick to place and receive orders, I now have 3 sets around the house. Love the new LED lights and USB Plugs (although the plugs were out of stock when I last ordered need to order again, oh no that will mean 4 sets !)”

“Love Cable & Cotton lights. We have 5 sets but can always find room for more in our period house. We sight ours on mantelpieces or hanging down dark corners. 3 of our children are smitten too. Your web sight is good and your service excellent. Can’t recommend you enough.”

“We love cable and cotton and visit every time we’re in Brighton. We’re based in Manchester, I’ve bought the handpicked lights for my friends nursery in the past and just picked some for our own new arrival! Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your post - I am sorry you found the lights hard to assemble and that you had to use a knife to make the slots bigger. We do advise to use a small pair of sharp scissors to do this usually. The cotton balls are handmade and whilst the split is usually big enough next to the hole to accommodate the LED light disc, sometimes it has not been scored to the exact dimensions required. I do hope that you are able to enjoy your new lights now that you have got them assembled. Yours sincerely, Kate

“The warm white isn’t as warm as I’d hoped! I have an older (non LED) set from yourselves which is much warmer.”

Dear Marie, Thank you for your feedback - the old style filament bulb cables are indeed a warmer off-white and we have made the new LEDs a warm off white rather than a very bright white (which LED lights usually are) to avoid glare. The disc design also means the light radiates out at @ 180 degrees rather than the piercing direct light usually emitted from LEDs. I do hope you get used to the new LEDs in time - certainly it depends on the colours used with them (i.e. paler colours let a lot more light through). Yours sincerely, Kate

“These are pretty expensive lights and I was a bit shocked to see that I had to put them together myself when they arrived! Not only that but 4 of the 20 balls I had to cut slits in myself to fit them. Just think it could be made clearer on the website that you will have to put them together yourself...manage expectations! I had spent ages playing around with the random order generator to get my preferred layout only to realise I had to do it myself anyway! That being said, it wasn’t too hard to do and the lights look great now installed.”

Dear Anon, Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts on our light sets; I am glad it was not too hard to place the balls on to the LED lights and that the cable looks good now it is in situ. Due to the handmade nature of the product, some of the cotton balls do need a slight helping hand sometimes to widen the split next to the hole - this is fairly easy to do with a sharp pair of small scissors, as outlined in the instruction leaflet. We are not able to attach all the balls to all the cables in the sequence of people's preference, because we simply do not have the resources to do so - and lots of our customers enjoy doing it themselves and being able to vary the colours as they want to. I am sorry that you took ages to shuffle your colours on the 'choose your own' site - and hope you were able to work out the best way to thread them. (If you do ever purchase from us again, it may be advisable to take a screenshot of your final colour choice so that you have it to hand when it comes to threading the balls onto the lights.) I hope you are now able to enjoy your lovely light set... Yours sincerely, Kate
