Quite a difference in colour of ball shown on website to what actually arrived.

The cotton ball lights are great - easy to put together and look lovely. They arrived quickly and were well packaged. I've marked Cotton and Cable down for 2 reasons - the websiteand the service after the orderwas placed. The website isn't very easy to navigate and it's hard to see which colours you have selected. I had selected Marine Blue in error but as it circles the colours selected in black it was not obvious it had been selected. The website does not give you chance to review which colours you have selected until the confirmation email. When, I saw that what I had ordered was incorrect, I emailed Cotton and Cavle to amend the order but got no response. Despite 2 emails and a DM on Instagram (there's no telephone number on the website), I got no reply and the order arrived wirh the Marine Blue lights in. It is a shame that this aspect of the purchase was unsatisfactory because the product is lovely and it's great to support smaller businesses. I would order from them again but really hope that the ordering process is improved.

Didn't realise I'd have to assemble the lights myself. The premade cuts were hit and miss.

This is my fourth purchase from yourselves. I am disappointed there is no plug and found construction the most difficult yet. Sore fingers and having to make bigger cuts in the shades. Once constructed, lights look fab.

They were OK. I thought they had a proper plug which is why I ordered them, and didn't realise I had to assemble them myself. Don't mind but still. Not really worth the money

I would have like to be able to decide how many of each colour I wanted to buy not have it decided for me as I wanted more of the colour than the cream. Not made it up yet but happy with the timer as I have another set of lights previously purchased from the tree shop at Loch Fyne.

Love the product, that’s not the issue. But the packaging it was sent in REALLY struggled. The box was well crushed, as were 4 of the balls inside. I fashioned a stick with a tissue and elastic band head end and re popped them, but they’re wrinkled still. Shame.

I still don’t know whether the parcel was delivered. Most online services send multiple messages, getting ready to shop, on the way, out for delivery, delivered. Quite embarrassing to have to ring the person that I sent the gift to, to see whether it was delivered or not. For online ordering communication is essential. Can’t answer the questions below because I have no idea

The end result is absolutely beautiful, but for the price I’d expect the lights to come assembled. Having to split each ball to insert the light was not only very fiddly and difficult, but also eventually broke the skin on my thumbs leaving them sore for a couple of days.

I love my lights and felt I had very prompt and good service...though I feel it wasn’t made clear that the lights would arrive without a plug ! So I couldn’t use my lights until I was able to go out and purchase one. Which of course meant the lights were actually more expensive than I’d initially believed.

The replacement LED lights sadly emit a really cold, blue hue and are very, very far from the warm traditional light string they replaced. Had hoped the dimmer switch would help. The switch works great but will unfortunately not help with the coldness of the LED lights. My cotton balls are white and light grey, might be ok if you have warmer coloured balls. Also, was sent a extension cable instead of the dimmer switch ordered. Completely understand orders can sometimes be incorrect and my e-mail was promptly answered with assurance of the correct item being sent via express delivery. However, not so much express as it took 4 days to arrive via courier.

Full marks for fast efficient answers to questions and delivery but I have taken two points off as the delivery charge came as a bit of a shock only to be discovered once you have clicked the final purchase submit button. Yes, the delivery charge is shown in FAQs (not immediately obvious). A link at the bottom of the page is more common "Delivery Charges" but at the very least the charge should be shown on the checkout page before you make the payment. I feel this is a bit underhand and I would probably not have purchased if I had known the charge was £5.95

Took a long time for it to arrive considering that the postage was £6-00. If I had known that it was coming from a couple of miles away from me I would have collected it the same day.

It's a bit naughty to sell the usb light strings without an electrical plug on the end - when I received my LED lights they were useless and I had to order a plug and wait until the separate plug arrived. Maybe I missed the info that stated they were plug-less!

Hi Claire, the plugs are an add on item on the website as so many people already have USB plugs or they may not want a plug at all and use with a USB port or USB power bank. It was after a lot of customer feedback that we made the plug and other accessories an add on item. It does explain all of this very clearly on the website and the add on plugs are right there underneath the light sets so I am sorry you missed it. 'All of our cables come with a USB fitting as standard and can be used with any USB port and with any USB plug.'
