“Service was great and live my lights but felt really deflated when I found that my daughter bought a very similar product elsewhere fir £6.99! Hmmm. I did think they were expensive”

Dear Anon, Thank you for your post, I am glad that the service was great for you, and that you love the lights too! I am glad your daughter found a bargain set of lights at a great price! I expect upon closer examination these are not quite the same as our lights (which are patented) and also that the colour range may not be as wide. “I had problems with two sets of lights 12 months ago. Eventually all problems were sorted out. Lights look good this year.”

Dear Simon, Thank you for your feedback. Just to let you know that until recently our spare bulb packs cost £2.95 and the post also cost £2.95. The warehouse then raised their charge for p&p by £1 so we decreased the cost of the bulbs (at our expense) to compensate. I hope this goes some way to explaining the disproportionate cost of bulbs to p&p. Yours sincerely, Kate

“The product is lovely but it didn’t come with a plug and it was not made clear this has to be purchased separately. I have ordered from this co in the past and a plug was provided.”

Dear RT, Thank you for your email; I am sorry you did not realise that the new LED cables do require a plug to use with the usb port unlike the old-style filament bulb cables. This does take some getting used to, but I very much hope you like your new LED lights now... Yours sincerely, Kate

“The fairy lights are lovely. A bit tricky to put together but look great, both lit and not. I found it really hard to choose my colours so a photo of all the colours with their names would have been very useful as one of the purples I chose was darker than I wanted. They are great quality lights and I love them.”

“I ordered 4 boxes of lights as gifts, but they came unlabelled, so I had to peel up the stickers on each box & check inside to make sure the right person got the right lights. Great lights though!”

“The order took several days to arrive and some of the lights were quite difficult to insert into the globes due to the pre-cut slits being, in some instances, too small. However the lights look very good and I am pleased with them.”

“I hadn't realised how the lights had changed from the old style - I do hope they last longer. I've had trouble in the past with trying to find the bulb which had blown, having to pull all the balls off one by one to find the culprit, then the balls get a bit loose and tend to fall off. But I love them so much I have persevered, so now I can try these new LED ones! It seems a shorter lead between each bulb so the whole string is shorter than I expected - I'm sure it tells me on the website, I just didn't look. They look great though!”

Dear Philippa, Thank you for your interesting and informative post - I do hope you like the new LEDs now. Al the technical information is on our website under the 'help' tab so it may be useful to look at that. I do wonder how old your previous cable is - if you want to email me at hello@cableandcotton.co.uk I can be of more help in identifying the culprit bulb which is usually the white-tipped fuse bulb depending on the age of the cable. It would save you a lot of time trying to locate the bulb! But perhaps now you have LEDs you will be happier with these as they do not require bulb changes! I very much hope so. “Add an optional gift card for no more than 50p ?? styled with a photo / slogan of the lights eg Happy Carnival Candy Birthday. I thought the optional transparent box for £2.95 ?? was pointless and too expensive.”
