Offered £1400 for a 2005 Mercedes on the website. Guy checked the car over. Tried to say that it had been in an accident in 2002. (said it was written off) Wasnt even made then. Had the cheek to offer £50. My v5 says different. (never been written off) Stay well clear. Robbing b***ards!!!!

We’re really sorry if the amount offered wasn’t what you had hoped for. With that said, we do offer a no obligation service, meaning if there’s any aspect of the service, that isn’t right for you, you’re under no obligation to sell to us.
AVOID AVOID AVOID Got a valuation for my car £20000, got to the office, had an inspection ended up reducing the value by £1000, agreed to sell, got a contract from them, signed it agreed to get next day payment for £25, didn't get paid, 2 days later went to ask for my payment and was told that although the car was HPI clear they wanted to do another inspection offsite, Car still HPi clear!!! When I was waiting to talk to the agent got an email threatening to call the Police to have me removed for trespass!!! All I wanted was to get paid, 5 days after still not paid, went to collect car and keys and was told I needed Head office to approve me collecting what was still my car????, I got the keys and the V5C which was now in "trade" (which means that it has now got an extra owner on the V5C also the road tax was cancelled halfway through the month) when I asked for the paperwork that I supplied for the car (PDi report and some receipts for service work) was told that it had been "binned". WITHOUT DOUBT THE WORST CAR BUYERS EVER.....sold the car elsewhere for £3000 more than they were going to pay!!!!!!!

Hi there, I have sent you a private message requesting your reg number so I can get this looked into. Thanks
Want to receive an insulting offer for your car and have your time wasted. This is the place for you! Unfortunately this company are time wasters who use the old "bait and switch" method of business. We were offered an acceptable amount on the website and despite being 100% honest and detailed in the descriptions to allow them to quote accurately received a very much lower quote after inspection. The 1st quote they give you is clearly to hook you in then the inspection process is just an exercise in knocking as much money off as possible. Our car had already been rated as very good condition by 3 garages who had valued it but the We buy any car inspector managed to reduce the quote by around £700 but couldn't justify when challenged what the reductions were for. He said there were a few small chips on our 11 year old car. Well done genius we had already told you this, 11 year old cars do have small chips, and they do not cost £700 to repair. As we don't need the money we declined the offer and received a much higher offer elsewhere. I worry about the people that need the money though. I believe this business is set up to exploit those people who feel pressured in to taking the lower offers. The sales guy was using every trick in the book when we declined telling us prices were due to drop in a few days etc etc to try and add time pressure. This type of business practice is old, tired and exploitative and I hope they go the same way as Brighthouse and Wonga and similar companies that are untrustworthy and unethical in their business practice. Following my experience I read a very good motoring review of them that included an investigation in to them that showed only 4% of people actually receive the offer they were quoted. BE VERY AWARE & AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We use exactly the same pricing system on our website as our buyers do in branch. Therefore if the condition/details of the car entered online matches our assessment of your car, then we offer a price which matches the online valuation. However if the details provided online are not accurate this will affect the final price offered.
Don't use these jokers - dropped the price over £1000 after viewing. When I asked him to justify that, he kept saying, 'It's not in showroom condition.' My car is 10 years old and in very good condition for the age. Waste of time.

They decreased the price when we got there over minor scratches ect to then be told we couldn't have the money transferred the same day like we were told on the phone.. we are now waiting to see how long it will be before the money will hit our bank

I sold my 2017 car to WBAC, it had what I believed to be full service history, but the person who dealt with me said that the last service receipt was not accepted as it needed to be an invoice. I told him as it was Sunday I could speak to the service department on Monday and provide the invoice for the last service. He then told me that tomorrow (Monday) my car would be worth £400 less that it was today. I felt I was pressured in to selling there and then and accepting the lower offer (less £120) due to the receipt not being accepted by them as proof of the service. He did not give me this receipt back though so I’m sure they’re selling the car as having full service history. Having checked the price of my car today (4 days after selling my car to WBAC) I find that the price of my car has increased by £200 not decreased by £400 as I was told

Took my car to the Telford site, who did her job and deducted £600 plus for stone chips, then payed for same day payment as advertised, but they couldn't do it,and was told that no body has ever been paid same day from there, I was told my payment would be in my account before 6pm. I waited on the second day, and now we're on the 3rd day. And still no payment, I've sent emails, texts ect as , email response was we will be in touch within 3days,,?. And the agent who purchased it from us, just keeps saying I have a customer, I'll get back to you shortly. Lol as if, see your not all that good are you. Still waiting for my money, ps, even DVLA told me you had changed the car ownership over the same day, you processed that, why not my money?????

Told me I would not get the price as given with original internet enquiry. This, without even seeing my car. Not a nice lady, not a good experience. Felt I had been conned.

Booked an appointment at the Sutton Coldfield 'branch'. Received a call the day before to confirm the appointment. I attended the appointment today at the time agreed, and no one turned up. The office was locked, and no one called me to say that the appointment was cancelled. Looking at these reviews, I see that no show is a common occurrence. I won't be rebooking. I'll sell my car elsewhere. Very poor experience.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback, we really appreciate it. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused as a result of the branch closure. This is definitely not what we want our valued customers to experience. It does sometimes become necessary to close branches at short notice, as was the case in this instance. That said, we do make attempts where possible to advise any affected customers of this and assist them in rescheduling. We trust that you were contacted in regards to this. If for any reason this wasn’t the case, please contact talktousnow@webuyanycar.com or drop us a message via Facebook: bit.ly/WBACFB or Twitter: bit.ly/WBACTwitter for further assistance. So I can look into this further it would be great to get your reg number and email address. I have sent a private reply requesting this. Thank you, The WBAC Team
Very bad experience at the Salisbury branch! We had just been to look at another car and thought on our way back we would book to see how much they could offer us. We booked an appointment for 11:20 at 11, arrived early, and waited in our vehicle until the appointment time. We rang the buzzer and then we’re met with and abrupt answer of have we book an appointment, we clarified that we had. 5 mins later a rather grumpy gentleman comes out, first of all we were chatting politely with him whilst he complained about how busy he was and was trying to get his tablet to work, he couldn’t get it to work so returned inside and came out another 5 minutes later. He then started to become very rude and abrupt, it seemed a real inconvenience to him that we were there. He ask for the documents and these were produced, my partner asked if he wanted to V5 first to which the response was ‘just give everything to me I don’t want to keep asking you.’ Which in writing doesn’t sound so rude but it was the way it was said. He continued to do the checks and then walked away because he was too hot, which is understandable but it was also hot for us and several times he’d walked away leaving us in the sun. He then came over and asked me to sign something which I did and he said he would get a price. My partner then politely said (due to being concerned at what I was signing) that we may not be selling it today but would like a quote. The gentleman (if you could call him that) then squared up to my partner, raising his voice and said ‘mate don’t tell me how to do my job. If you’d told me that at the beginning I wouldn’t have done all these checks. You have wasted my time.’ My partner responded with an apology saying he did not realise this. We were then told the price was £3400 and he left without another word. His attitude was absolutely disgusting, at no point were we rude or inconsiderate, we let him take his time. Considering customer service is a huge part of his job we feel that he failed to offer the service offered. We did not expect to be belittled and squared up to, I am very glad that I had a male with me as I wouldn’t want to think how this would have played out with just me. Absolutely appalling and will not be returning!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, Raymond, we really appreciate it and we apologise for any disappointment caused. Our online valuations are calculated using only the information that our customers provide, therefore if no scuffs, chips, scratches or dents are declared at this point, the valuation provided will be reflective of this. Whilst we accept that the majority of used cars will have experienced a certain amount of wear and tear, we make no assumptions about the extent of this as it can vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle and we instead rely on our customers to describe the vehicles they have in their possession. We’re sorry that on this occasion the final price offered failed to meet with your expectations. This said; we offer a no obligation service which means if the price we offer isn’t acceptable, you are never under any obligation to sell to us. Additionally, the vehicle market changes on a regular basis and we therefore update our prices every day, based on current market conditions. We have a team of Pricing Analysts who are constantly monitoring the value of used cars. They track various factors such as demand, availability of a particular model and current sale prices we are experiencing for such vehicles. We are constantly adjusting our valuations in response to the fluctuations and we therefore offer a 4 day guarantee period on our valuations as this protects customers against any changes in the market during this period. Thank you, The WBAC Team
Easy online experience, was honest and declared all scuffs etc. Quoted an acceptable price online (similar to dealer's part-exchange price). Arrived and was offered 20% (~£1,500) less than the price shown online! Don't even bother.

Absolutely immature person in charge of your Queensbury (harrow)branch .Had an appointment today at 10am ,and the office was not even open!!! The manager arrived after 5 mins and kept me waiting while dealing with another colleague. He then just asks me was my car a taxi before, and I said yes and he then asks what the quotation I got online.I said 8k and he said we only offer 5k .This whole conversation is in the car park near the office and didn’t even want to see the car nor the full document!!! Very unprofessional!!!! Wish your company would clarify this beforehand.

We felt really let down by We Buy Any Car. We were offerred £5600 but when we took it in the guy said that there were some stone chips and offerred £4600!! on a 5 yr old car with 60,000 miles. We spent £60 for an Autotrader adverts and sold it to a dealer within the week for £6000. WBAC are nothing more than cheats, luring you in for a speedy deal and then ripping you off

Discounting the price by 10% at the last minute for so-called overall condition of the car. Crooks!

Exactly the same as what happened in the Gordon Linton review, almost word for word. Two increasing valuations so decided to make an appointment at the Falkirk branch .Again brought up stone chips on the bonnet ( 7 year old car with stone chips, how unexpected ) and some nonsense about a panel having been resprayed . Then proceeded to offer 1k less than the valuation I had been offered a week before online . Then when I declined the man doing the valuation proceeded to be rude to me . Will not spend near them again . Increasing valuations are clearly a ploy to get people in the door then knock the price back down to the original valuation by listing tiny “faults”.

Vile individual working at Folkestone branch. Even made contact last service Co and shouting at them for not having vat no on tick sheet. Clearly a scam to claim vat back where they didn't even pay for the service. One thing after another to drop price. Appalling behaviour. Would rather scrap the car than sell to these. Utter dreadful experience.

After two increased valuations I booked an appointment, all he could find was a few bonnet chips so he made up a story that the rear door was badly painted, absolute nonsense, got it checked NO it hasn’t been resprayed, this was the Kirkcaldy branch, I personally will never set foot in there again.

Hi Gordon, thanks for your feedback. Our aim is to purchase as many vehicles as possible and as such, it's certainly not in our interest to fabricate damages, as we're sure this would put customers off selling to us. We apologise if the outcome and valuation wasn't what you hoped for, however. Your online valuation is based only on the information that you provide us with and unfortunately it sounds like there were a number of discrepancies found at your appointment which we had to record, as we're sure you can appreciate. - The WBAC Team
