The price paid was 50% lower than the online valuation. I would not recommend anyone using this service and I will certainly never use again. The online valuation is a waste of time. I input the information accurately and this same information (mileage and lack of full service history) was used as the reason for the 50% reduction in the amount actually offered.

Thank you for your feedback, Karl and apologies for any disappointment caused. We can see that when you obtained your online valuation, you failed to detail the condition of your car and at your appointment, we found numerous discrepancies, leading to your valuation being amended by £206. - The WBAC Team
Took my late husband`s car to we buy any car.com after checking in auto trade for the going price ( £2500). They offered me £500 and when I objected, upped the offer to £750. What a rip-off. My friend offered to sell it for me and was able to sell it for £2000. I would not recommend this company. In fact I ought to report them for fraud.

Worcester. Same story - a decent second hand car (vw polo) which was offered next to scrap value by this company. The online valuation price was book used price. It's only to entice you in. They should be done for false and misleading information.

Dont waste your time whith this company you dont get the prize you been given online

Hey Kaz, sorry to hear this! Having looked into this, the reason is that you entered an incorrect number of previous owners and a significantly large mileage difference. Online, you entered 14,900, but at your appointment we found the car to have done 149,300 miles, which is over 100,000 more than what you advised us of. Your online valuation was based on the low mileage of 14,900 and as this wasn't the case, we had to amend your valuation accordingly as this does drastically impact the value of a car. - The WBAC Team
X2 Negetive star Best example of Customer service at the lowest level, no cooling off period, which by law is 14 days, no consumer rights, no return allowed or change of mind ,complete ripp off, will never recommend anyone to go there,. Rather scrap the car then sell to them ,

Hi Imran, thank you for your feedback. Once the invoice/contract has been signed by both parties webuyanycar becomes the legal owner of the vehicle and as such we do not rescind on a contract. The business is not required to offer a ‘cooling off period’ due to the type of service it offers, under Consumer Protection regulations or the Unfair Contract Terms Act. - The WBAC Team
Absolute scam should have negative star rating took my car to them they valued it at one price then when I got there they halfed the price!!! Sold it privately my advice sell it yourself don't go to these rip off merchants

I wish there was a negative star rating for the awful experience I have just had with the two "scammers" who run the Peterborough branch of we will really shaft you.com! They tried to make out that my car was not as it should have been according to their hpi check. When I got home and checked the hpi I had done when I bought the car (which I didn't take with me mores the pity) it was showing exactly the car I have!!! They immediately knocked a grand off the online solid offer - sound familiar? This was after a cursory glance at the car, which resulted in an immediate reduction of £200 in the offer before the hpi sketch got going! Wow! Really? That car is in fantastic condition for its age and exactly as I described it. No it wasn't they said, but when I asked them to tell me what caused this reduction after hardly looking at my car, they couldn't tell me! It got very heated at that point, as I could see what they were up to and I decided not to deal with these clowns any further, as they were obviously trying to con me just like nearly everyone else on this site! I did not want to "give" them my car and after the horrible experience with them, decided to leave. I have decided to keep my pride and joy after all and after this meeting, will never use the " so Schofield" cowboys again! How that man sleeps at night - surely he doesn't know how they rip people off?!? As I walked away and they got over the shock of me not virtually giving them my car - must not happen very often - they moved straight on to the next victim. As I walked away, I said to the lady to be careful, as they tried to rip me off. The we buy any car employee told me in a threatening manner, to shut my mouth and move away or else! Again, wow! I consider myself very lucky not to be desparate to sell my car and really feel for the people that are not so fortunate and get conned into selling their car for far less than promised, as seems to be the obviously scripted way they are operating. Lesson learnt.

Thank you for leaving us your feedback, we really appreciate it and we apologise for any disappointment caused. This certainly wasn’t our intention. Please note that your valuation would only ever change at your appointment if you’re outside of your 4 day Price Promise, or if there are discrepancies between the way that you described your car online and the car itself, found at your appointment. This could include missing components, damages or discrepancies with mileage, previous owners or service history, for example. Such factors may impact the value of your car and as such, we would need to record this and amend your valuation accordingly, which we’re sure you can appreciate. We’re really sorry if the amount offered wasn’t what you had hoped for. With that said, we do offer a no obligation service, meaning if there’s any aspect of the service, that isn’t right for you, you’re under no obligation to sell to us. - The WBAC Team
Absolute disgrace. Service awful, running late. Offered 50% of online valuation. False advertising and a total con. From reading your reviews no one is offered the online valuation so it should be more accurate of what you actually offer. So glad we are not in a position where we need a quick sale. If there was a zero star this is the rating I would give

Absolutely disgraceful , my car has been returned back to me after the worker of the Twickenham branch has inspected it and bought the car from me ,my car has been quoted £12,250 stating everything correctly , upon arrival the worker has inspected the car and offered me £500 less because of curb marks of 2 of the wheels which were stated during the quotation , however i have accepted the offer thinking its quick and hassle free sale and that they have to make some profit so i was ready for that , we have signed the contract and i have been told that i will recieve my money in 4 days , next following day i recieved a phone call from the same we buy any car worker stating that my car was refused because i have owned it for less than 1 year and because i am scrap metal worker which is discrimination , also he said that he needs proof of purchase from the dealer as he will not accept any proof if the car has been bought privately , then i have been asked to provide a insurance certificate via email to prove how long i have owned the car , after doing so i recieved a call back from the worker stating that i have 2 options , 1 collect the car back 2 leave it to them for about 4 days so they can send the car to the auction center and inspect it , after about 2 hours the same person called me stating that they would have to drive the car so the millage might rise , straight away i thought that this situation is getting dodgy so i collected the car asap , furthermore upon signing the contract when selling the car to them they have automatically transferred the logbook so i was not the owner anymore , i have argued with the worker for about 1h outside the office as he did not want to provide me with any proof or paperwork stating that i have collected the car and its back in my posession he was blaming the head office and saying that there is nothing he can do , 1) i have lost £200 due to cancelling my insurance and then buying it out again 2) as they have transferred the logbook my tax has been calcelled 3) i had to call dvla for hours explaining what happened 4)i have to send off my logbook (which is invalid now ) and wait 5-8 weeks for a new one so cannot sell the car 5) had to write an explanation to post with the loogbook and hope that they will not add another owner as it will seriously impact the car value. I will be seeking a legal advice as it clearly states in the contract that when the payment is cleared webuyanycar will transfer the logbook , however in my case the logbook was transfered straight away after signing the contract .

Hi there, thank you for your feedback and apologies for any disappointment caused. It's extremely rare that a car must be returned, but in this case your vehicle flagged up when some post-sale checks were carried out. We were alerted that you sell car parts online and subsequently requested a purchase invoice for your vehicle. Unfortunately, you were unable to provide us with this. We've therefore had to carry out some additional checks to ensure that there are no missing/incorrect parts and a second appraisal was offered to yourself as a result, which unfortunately we can see you declined and as a result, we've had to rescind the purchase and return the car to yourself. Once again, we're sorry for any disappointment caused and will indeed take your feedback on board. - The WBAC Team
Originally offered £4.5k about three weeks ago, reduced to £4.0k and wanted to sell so accepted this. Went along for appointment and they then tried to reduce it further to £3.2k for scuffs on alloys of a 13 year old car. Rest of car in good condition and full dealer history was no factor.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, you were a number of weeks outside of your 4 day Price Promise when you attended an appointment and as such, a new valuation had to be obtained based on the current market conditions. We can see that when you requested your online valuation, you failed to detail the condition of your car. At your appointment, we found a 10cm+ scratch on the front bumper, a scratched panel and multiple chips in different areas on the car. Unfortunately, as we're sure you can appreciate, such damages do impact the value of a car and as such, we had to amend your valuation accordingly. With that said, we do offer a no obligation service, meaning you're never under any obligation to sell to us if the price isn't right for you. - The WBAC Team
It's difficult to review this company as their website was great, their communication was great, but when we arrived at the Reigate branch that all changed. The member of staff was outside smoking which wasn't the best first impression, but then we quickly got started. He checked the car, which we had an initial value of £3k and he offered £2.4k which was really low because the car had a full service history, brand new tyres, a recent clutch change and a recent cam belt change. I'm not bothered about the low valuation as they're a business and they need to make money and can only offer what they think it's worth, so that's totally fine, but when the member of staff realised I wouldn't accept his low offer he rolled his eyes and just walked away like a child who couldn't get his own way. It's totally fine for us not to agree, but I was shocked when he acted unprofessionally. There was no goodbye, instead he just went to another customer. Such a shame that an interaction with one person has ruined the otherwise good reputation of the company. I contacted their support department afterwards and raised the issue and they didn't apologise for the actions of their member of staff, instead, they were fixated on the condition of the vehicle which I wasn't fussed about.

The price given on the internet bears no resemblance to what is actually offered, several hundred pounds different - beware and lower your expectations. The people at the compound 'seem' to be genuine people, but be aware that there is admin costs and extra cost if you want the money in your bank quick. Not a very honest company, proper Del-Boy tactics.

Review of experience with WBAC this morning: The customer service is fine, the staff are pretty good actually and friendly. However: Bearing in mind this is a used/aged car organisation. The online pricing and mechanism to final P2P sale is just wrong, verging unethical and gives a really bad customer experience. They should call themselves "How to half an online quote in 30mins when you get there!!!!!!" or "Screw-U".....don't worry about telling the truth about your car, our price knock down system will screw you when you get here. - The biggest issue in my mind is when WBAC knock £60 off the value for no spare key, I am more than sure WBAC don't go and get a new key for the onward sale......And why ask the question when building the online quote to knock it off on the day. I would rather give the car away to the local car salesman with the small business or to the neighbours needing a wee run around than add a margin to a corporate pocket. WBAC lack transparency and integrity: Example: They have a tiering system that values cars 1-7 (none go higher than 3/4, the agents are asked to rate at 5/6 - WBAC should state that or show the rating as part of the initial online quote as an expected range. Obviously a 7-15 year old car is not going to be showroom standard or of grade 1 standard!!!!!! It will have chippings, and a bruised knee here or there. So WHY doesn't the initial quote accommodate that? WHY the secondary pricing deduction system. WHY is the customer not immediately made aware of this. Probably has something to do with WBAC spend on google analytics. MOT Timing: If you are 3 days over the 6 month mark for the MOT next due date they knock of £60.00 and this gets higher every 2 months as you approach renewal date. - They should explain the knock downs clearly in the valuation. or spend £40 quid on MOT and save £20 if car is good runner. They should also take the £50 Admin fee off the valuation on website. Note: Even if you state no Spare key on the online assessment - WBAC knock off £60+ when you get there.........so if you can get a spare key for £10 do that before hand or imprint it on a bar of soap, and create a melted candle wax copy. The biggest Con here, is the online review is 1st line, you are then 2nd lined by another knock down computer system on arrival. Want to sell a 1-3k car, this is not the place to do it unless you are in need of quick cash and expect half what the car is worth. Check local car scap yards and aged car auctions before losing the day with WBAC. Pro's Got a dead battery - don't worry, jump it and leave the car running when you get there. They don't check or test drive. The agent (person) is not a mechanic, they use a tablet computer system to re-evaluate. Need 500 quid quick on a 1k car, providing it runs and you have docs, rock up for 30 mins and you will get your 500. Otherwise "Schofield it", lie to your family for 50 years; give them a knock down offer when you jump out the closet, and ramp up the commission to line your own pocket by sticking your face on a half arsed deal. With WBAC, up front honesty is not the best policy, you'll get it last minute and feel like your pants are down by your ankles wishing you had taken my advice on how to use the bar of soap. Best of luck, Pete

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Our online valuations are based purely on the information you enter online. The aim of the onsite appraisal is to confirm that the vehicle matches the description that you gave. Within the terms of the guarantee, it does state ‘if there are any discrepancies between your car and the details you gave us, or, if during the inspection, we discover something about the car that we were not previously made aware of, we may have to make an amendment to your quote.’ It appears whilst inspecting your vehicle the description did not match that provided online. This resulted in us needing to adjust the price we could offer you. Experience tells us damage (scratches/chips/dents) on a vehicle along with missing items do affect the value of the car and subsequently affects the resale value. Our fully trained buyers therefore always carry out a thorough inspection in order to provide an accurate price. We use exactly the same pricing system on our website as our buyers do in branch. Therefore if the condition/details of the car entered online matches our assessment of your car, then we offer a price which matches the online valuation. However if the details provided online are not accurate this will affect the final price offered. We’re sorry that on this occasion the final price offered failed to meet with your expectations. This said; we offer a no obligation service which means if the price we offer isn’t acceptable, you are never under any obligation to sell to us. - The WBAC Team
I filled in the form and was advised the price would be £236. However when I arrived they stated that the damage on the side which I had stated on the form was more and I would get £105 which is less than scrap which is £110. I took it because I didn't want to waste more time. However the car has MOT to August and runs well. You have got to be desperate to do business with these people!

Thank you for leaving us your feedback, we really appreciate it and apologise for any disappointment caused as this wasn't our intention. We've taken a closer look and can see that you detailed £14 worth of damage, but this unfortunately did not mirror our findings when we carried out an appraisal and found further discrepancies. As such, we had to amend your valuation to reflect our findings, by £105. We’re really sorry if the amount offered wasn’t what you had hoped for. With that said, we do offer a no obligation service, meaning if there’s any aspect of the service, that isn’t right for you, you’re under no obligation to sell to us. - The WBAC Team
Total waste of time. We were offered a valuation of £1500 online but because of some surface rust we were only offered £625 for the car when we got there and the car still has 6 months MOT to run. I admit £1200 would have been a fair price for the condition the car is in but to try and knock £875 off is just a rip off. Funny how the valuation went up by 25% when i said no and was driving away..!!!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We're really sorry if the valuation wasn't what you hoped for. Total waste of time. Sadly, it's exactly what I feared would happen but thought I'd give them a go. Had a price of £11k online. (Private sale price would be about £11,800) The car is 8 years old and in fantastic condition. There are 1 or 2 tiny chips on the paintwork but nothing you wouldn't expect from a car 8 years old. The guy at the centre said it was in great condition but they knocked about £600 off the price because of this (lower than the part exchange price). Don't bother trying to sell a decent car with them. I'm assuming they are only interested in people who need cash quickly.

Thank you for your feedback, Paul, we appreciate your comments. Our online valuations are calculated using only the information that our customers provide, therefore if no scuffs, chips, scratches or dents are declared at this point, the valuation provided will be reflective of this. Whilst we accept that the majority of used cars will have experienced a certain amount of wear and tear, we make no assumptions about the extent of this as it can vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle and we instead rely on our customers to describe the vehicles they have in their possession. - The WBAC Team
Like so many others on this site, I gave an honest evaluation of my car online, a few minor cosmetic scratches and stone chips and got a valuation of £1,200. Upon inspection the actual valuation was £532. The reason? There were 4 minor scratches and a stone chip. You just have to chalk it down to experience I guess; I won't waste my time with them again - lesson learned.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, Graham. We can see that when you obtained your online valuation, you detailed a scratched/scuffed bumper which we took into consideration. We therefore updated your valuation to reflect such findings as we're sure you can appreciate. - The WBAC Team
SPAM SPAM SPAM Over a year ago I used the service for a valuation of my wife's car which was any good at first but increased repeatedly over the coming few weeks. After the car had gone I unsubscribed from all further communication but email keep coming. I have reported them to them to the ICO twice now - also without effect to date.

Think about selling your car privately… Think about selling your car privately before going to wbac- they will deduct money ‘cost for chip, dents minor repairs’ however they will never be laying out this cost for your deductions as it goes straight to auction and will sell in the condition anyway, it’s a ‘deceitful way’ of lowering your price. 4 days to pay you when a standard ‘free’ bacs is 2 days. I believe they sell the car before they have paid you so please if you are not looking for a quick sale try other ways first.
