“Very poor delivery, poor quality product. I called the customer service line to ask why I had only received 1 of my four boxes and I was told by a rude phone operative that it was not his fault and he would call me back with delivery times. He never called back and the remaining 3 boxes turned up over 3 days. I will not use water butts direct again.”

“Would have been better had lid matched website one for Garden Lake butt, it’s a cheap one with holes in it , £8 in Screwfix, not impressed, even less impressed with ‘manager’ and lady I spoke to, one suggested I tape over the holes, other said it’s the way they are molded , I’m 74, bought many water butts over the years, never had a lid with holes in them. Mosquitoe city along with other insects getting in ! Gave up trying to talk to sellers, must think we’re either stupid or uninformed! Don’t go there !”

“We ordered the 275L Noblesse Decorative Water Butt. It wasn't made clear on the website that this comes with a large wooden pallet. We asked the delivery driver to take the pallet away and he refused. We asked Water Butts Direct to collect it and they refused, telling us that we should leave it outside our front gate and a passerby will surely pick it up by the next day. It's been there for 4 days now and no one has picked it up. We live in SE London and don't have a car so disposing of it is a real pain. If we had known about the pallet before we wouldn't have made the order. We're disappointed that Water Butts Direct hasn't taken ownership of this issue- the pallet is theirs and not ours.”

“We placed an order (2000030520) on the 16th August. We have chased twice and the courier was blamed for the failure to deliver. The webpage says 10 days, the staff say 14 days for delivery and a month later we still don’t have our water butt. Use someone else.”

“I have still not received my water butt, your courier turned up unannounced when no one was home, I arranged a date for re delivery but they turned up again unannounced on a different date again when no one was home, your courier now expects me to collect the item from their depot which quite frankly I have no intention of doing. If delivery is not made today which is the original re delivery date I shall be seeking full reimbursement of my payment and purchasing my water butt from another supplier!”

“We had one of your water butts and then bought another with the aim of linking them and doubling our water capacity. Unfortunately the Hozelock connector on the tap leaked, I was using genuine, brand new Hozelock fittings. Water Butts Direct were unable or unwilling to come up with a solution so I have had to buy two more taps in order to achieve our goal. This has turned out to be an expensive project, hence one star.”

“Very disappointed and confused. Order water butt, all well. Could not connect because of metal downpipe so asked their advice by email and was ignored. Went online and found a Graff metal downpipe coverter kit, expensive! Lo and behold Water Butt Direct, not Graff, send me a kit from a company called Garantia. Pretty decent quality but when we tried to drill through the downpipe the bitt broke. Absolute nightmare. And sneakily charging Graff prices for a cheaper Company? Come on!”

“All looked fine when we started. I had a lovely chat with a customer service representative Stephen who assured me that the new water butt will be done to my specs. When the butt arrived it turned out the outlet was too big and located on a very far side of the butt meaning I won't be able to fill a water can freely due to a fence being too close. When I complained, they took the butt and send a new one. This time the outlet's size was good, but it was again located on the side, so very inconvenient. I paid a lot of money for a customised water butt and hoped it will serve me well, but now I am rather disappointed. I'd say go for their ready-made butts, but I would not trust them with anything custom-made.”
