“My order came reasonably swiftly and was exactly as described. Other than having to get a new drill bit big enough to make the hole to attach the filling pipe, installation was straightforward. Unlike other revieweres of this water butt, I had no problems with the orientation of the tap. The only criticism I'd make is that the 4 part base only loosely clips together so doesn't feel the most rigid and secure - but for a £40 product perhaps that is what you expect.”

Helpful Report

“Good customer service team, very helpful.”

Helpful Report

“Pleased when I contacted customer services with a picture of a damaged butt a new one was despatched promptly and arrived today”

Helpful Report

“There was a bit of confusion initially with my order but it was quickly resolved”

Helpful Report

“Products were excellent but I had to buy the water butts and stands thro' B & Q and Screwfix who were pretty useless! The manufacturer Harcostar are pretty useless too as Screwfix said most of their grey coloured water butts are not available??? Will buy direct from Water Butts Direct next time!”

Helpful Report

“Prompt delivery. Good price. Appears to be working OK with the little rain we have had. Must be very carefull where the unit is inserted in the downpipe to line up with the hole in the water barrel”

Helpful Report

“Item arrived as described but delivery was slow”

Helpful Report

“Good service and prompt supply, however, notification about delivery date and time could be improved.”

Helpful Report

“We bought a water butt for our elderly mother so she could water her plants more easily. It arrived quickly, and was easy to put together but the lid is very stiff, so she has to leave it ajar! Generally very pleased.”

Helpful Report

“Unfortunately the butt I ordered (Harcostar 114ltr) was out of stock at time of ordering (I wasn't aware), and had to wait approx 5 weeks for delivery. Item arrived with slight dent in the base, hopefully will not affect use. Worse still though, I was not pre-advised when item was despatched, only received one hours' notice (by DPD) of imminent delivery, had to quickly re-arrange our plans for the day.”

Helpful Report

“Excellent product and good value many more extras than expected. There was a production delay and this was not communicated as well as it should have beeen hence only 4 stars!”

Helpful Report

“Ordered way back in March . I have just received my order, not Water Butts Direct fault for the delay, a manufactoring hold up. Just as well we've had no rain!. I'm very pleased with the size, fits perfectly under the window sill so I don't see it. Would buy again. Good comunication too, kept me informed.”

Helpful Report

“Arrived promptly and in good order . Easy and straightforward installation.”

Helpful Report

“Had to wait 2 weeks for the water butt to arrive despite website showing in stock. Would not have been a problem but no contact until I chased - customer service? However, the water butt is great - easy to set up and now waiting for more rain to fil it up! Thank you.”

Helpful Report

“Very good service and well packed product. Thanks”

Helpful Report

“The lid arrived promptly. It is slightly too large, so will need to be weighted down to prevent it flying away, which was the fate of the original one!”

Helpful Report

“Good range of products and speedy response to any queries. Delivery was quick. Only criticism is that there is no advance notice of deliveries, just a text or call on the day. We happened to be free for both but it could have been a problem.”

Helpful Report

“Delivered promptly and looks good. Snag initially, as the box seemed to contain just the butt itself. The instructions and accessories, it turned out, were inside - invisible and inaccessible because the 'childproof' lid deteated adult arthritic hands. In the end, I got a neighbour's child to open it! It might be sensible perhaps to put some abbreviated form of the instructions, or at least a list of contents, on the outside of the drum. That said, it seems a very robust and well designed piece of equipment, with sufficient options to cover most local circumstances..”

Helpful Report

“Very quick and prompt delivery. The butt itself didn’t come with instructions as it should have, but customer service replies were very fast and the website had useful videos and documents to help guide installation. The butt itself was fairly easy to install, though additional tools were required for creating the hole in the butt and attach/screw in the diverter. Overall very pleased with it, and looking forward to collecting rainwater soon!”

Helpful Report

“Staff were very helpful when I phoned up to ask a question. Delivery was very quick and well packaged.”
