“The bed is lovely but I was very disappointed by the sheer quantity of waste and plastic in the packaging. It was devastating to think of the environmental impact of this sort of packaging.”

Hi Kryszia, I'm glad you lone the bed, and we appreciate your feedback on the packaging. It's a very fine balance trying to use as little packaging as possible, and still ensuring a customer's bed arrives in perfect condition. We have significantly reduced our packaging over the years, whilst still ensuring extremely low levels of damage in transit. One of our core beliefs is that something should be made once, and well. That said though, we are continually looking to improve and are actually developing a new packaging system that completely eliminates any plastic, and uses even less cardboard than currently. “I absolutely love this new bed frame and mattress and would highly recommend The Original Bed Company. They provide a good range of beds to choose from. After much searching, I was able to find exactly what I was looking for, a traditional style small double bed which would look OK with old dark wood furniture. Ordering via the website was straightforward. I did consider visiting the showroom to try the mattresses but in the end, took a gamble and ordered online without testing first. The delivery ran smoothly. Everything was well packaged. The bed was quite easy to assemble single-handedly. The bed is good quality, very comfortable and at a reasonable price too. I purchased the bed approximately 7 months ago and I am still really pleased with it.”

“Excellent company, top quality products at decent prices. I love my bed. It is very well made, sturdy yet looks so stylish. It arrived promptly with good communication with the couriers; it was very well packaged and was easy to put together (with 2 people). I had great fun making it and I am delighted with my beautiful new bed.”

“Delighted with my new bed... a huge improvement on previous bed which squeaked every time I moved! The new bed is very rigid and feels very solid. I managed to put it up myself but 2 people possibly would have made the process easier. Delivery was in the time frame stated and my dealings with the company was straightforward. My only gripe is that the delivery men were not prepared to take it upstairs for me. All in all, a lovely bed and a happy customer.”

“Having spent a long time researching beds for our second home we decided on the Original Bed Company. We are so pleased that we did. We have taken delivery of one bed with a mattress and will soon be ordering our guest bed and mattress, with the knowledge that it will be of equal quality and fine finish. Certainly will be only to happy to recommend to family and friends.”
