“Our double Hamilton brass bed is both very sturdy and beautiful. It was easy to put together with two people. The frame is firm and there are no squeaks. We also bought the Juno Wool mattress. Medium is the right level of firmness for us. Good quality. We were nervous about the purchase having always bought all things home from a well-known high street company. We are delighted with the bed and mattress and have the bonus of knowing we have supported a British company.”

“Excellent customer service. So pleased with the bed, which is fantastic quality and very good value. Am deeply regretting having purchased a bed from elsewhere a year ago! I also managed to put the bed together by myself, it was that easy. Highly recommend.”

“The bed that we chose is unusual and was challenging to erect. In no way is it instinctive and the way it was packaged did not make it easy to construct the Waterloo. The bed still rattles a bit and it would be helpful for one of your experts to see if there are any improvements that can be made. Your colleague in the Kings Road was very helpful in selling the bed. He gave us a lot of his time which was appreciated as the website is not always clear.”

“I bought a cream bedstead and mattress. The be is lovely, I have it on the higher setting to get things underneath and give a more old fashioned look. A great piece of furniture - did need two people to put together as it was fiddley holding while fitting, but got there in the end. The mattress is great, super firm and comfortable. Not so bendy if getting up cottage stairs so do have a think about that before purchase, but we did it in the end.”

“It’s not the 1st iron bed we have had but the quality and craftsmanship are made to last finish is great we also bought the Juno wool mattress which we have found to be quality also we also paid for the 2 man delivery has it was a super king who was a credit to any company”

“This is my 3rd bed from The OBC and as always it’s amazing quality for a very good price. I bought my first bed frame from them in 2015 and they are just as helpful and easy to deal with now as they were then. Someone always answers the phone and they’re friendly and helpful. I like speaking to someone who is in the shop rather than some overseas call centre who don’t care about the customer or the product.”

“Really pleased with the two beds I have bought from the original bed co. My only complaint is the delivery or perhaps the storage. Both times the boxes arrived filthy dirty and damaged on one end but no damage to the beds at all. Everything needed a good clean after id assembled it and got rid of the boxes.”

“We bought a bed manufactured by this company fifteen years ago and we have been very happy with it. However a problem developed with a component and even after fifteen years of use The Original Bed Company replaced the component for us. “Thank you for such a beautiful bed and for your excellent customer service. I ordered a bed to be sent to Northern Ireland and was delighted that your company did not question this or refuse to send to here, as many companies in the England do. I changed my mind about the colour of the bed after it had beef dispatched, rang the customer service number, was able to speak to someone straight away ( unusual in this day and age!) and was able to change my order quickly and easily with no extra cost. My bed arrived in about a week, was easy to assemble and we love it! Thank you.”

“Yes, comfort is subjective but a mattress review means little to me unless I know the height, weight and sleeping position of the reviewer. I'm a back sleeper, 5ft 3 inches, 10 stone, and approaching 60. I've been struggling with sleep for the last 10 years and I've gone through several mattresses trying to get the right balance of comfort and support. They were either too soft, too firm, or my hips would sink too much during the night. My purchase mistakes and my research has made me realise that much of the mattress industry is fiddled with overpricing and a lack of transparency. So I was really scared to buy another one in case I got it wrong again. Something about OBC intrigued me; a 100-night sleep trial for a handmade mattress at such a reasonable/honest price seemed rare. So I called to get a complete breakdown of exactly what's in some of the models - spring gauge, fillings and grams per sq meter etc. Matt gave me all the info I asked for. I then went to the London showroom to try them and found the Juno cotton to be the most comfortable. At home I didn't find it that comfortable, which was strange as I noticed I was sleeping better. I wasn't sure if there was enough filling in the Juno Cotton or perhaps I didn't have enough weight to compress the mattress in the right way. So I put a topper on it and I use a cheap IKEA, slim, firm open coil mattress as a base to emulate a sprung divan, both of which I already had. Despite some discomfort and aches, I'm sleeping considerably better than I have done in a very long time. I'm feeling human again. The mattress seems to be improving my posture and I am an inch taller when I get out of bed! Something is right about this level of support - finally! I think the mattress is still breaking in because of my lighter weight, and I'm experiencing more comfort as time goes by. So 5 stars for the 100 night trial, making it easy for me to stick this out and give it my best shot. I've had it for two and a half months now. The mattress seems very well made at a very reasonable price - good, honest value for money. Delivery was good, although the packaging could be better to help the delivery guys grip the mattress as they carried it up the stairs. Thank you, OBC. Appreciated!”

“The bed is stunning , but unfortunately I emailed and called but got no where . In the video on the site it says beds are adjustable height but not on this bed which is proving a problem.”
