“What can I say, EXCELLENT AFTER SALES SERVICE, Having ordered a brass bed head, I changed my mind and wish I’d ordered the chrome, I gave Nick a call and he arranged to change them over, the new ones arrived the following day and they wouldn’t even allow me to pay the carriage. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”

“Bought two iron beds (Selkirk and Edwardian) and I am very pleased with them both. They were both in stock so arrived within 3 days of ordering. The delivery service was excellent - I was given an approximate time and they rang when they were 20 minutes away. Carried both (very heavy) beds up to my first floor flat and were so polite and helpful. The beds themselves are superb quality and especially for the money. We took a good three hours to put the first one together but that was not because of lack of instructions - they were good - we were positioning some of the rails upside down! The beds look fantastic especially the one with brass finials and the sprung slats make them very comfortable. I thoroughly recommend this company.”

“Great bed. It is very durable, well painted. Very tiny uneven parts, but they are not visible and has no impact on your sleep. As a new bed it has a wooden smell. It worth the price.”

“I was recommended by my son who has bought 2 or 3 beds from you. I was impressed with the website and information available. Ordering, delivery and cost were all exceptional. The only small criticism is that the instructions could be a little clearer - especially for older people who are not so used to putting things together. The end result however is great and the mattress extremely comfortable. Thank you.”

“The mattress is very comfortable. However it has a very bad smell, like being on a farm. I hope this goes away quickly. It's really not nice.”

Hi Jennifer, Many thanks for the review. Glad to hear you find the mattress comfortable. As we use all natural fillings, it is not unusual for the mattress to have a slight wool smell to it. However, this should not be an unpleasant smell, and it does fade completely over the course of a week or so once the mattress is removed from the packaging and allowed to breath. We'll contact you directly to get a bit more information and see if it's best to give the mattress a bit more time to breath, or replace it. Best wishes, The Original Bed Company

“Our experience with The Original Bed Company has been second to none. Excellent service from start to finish. The bed is amazing. Really solid old fashioned iron bedstead. The mattress we bought was the wool one and is so comfortable!! Would definitely recommend company and bed.”
