“Love the bed - minimal and contemporary in style but very solid and comfortable. As it was in stock it was delivered very quickly and they use a delivery service who have good communication which made everything even smoother.”

“I ordered a bed And mattress 9 weeks ago. Other than the email saying they had my order I have had no notification from the company with any expected dates, etc. I phones two weeks ago to see when to expect delivery and was told it was down as the week of the 25th of November. As I yet again have had no contact from the company I have spent the whole morning trying to contact anyone at any of the phone numbers online and they all just ring out. No please wait, no please leave a message. I just want to know when the Bed is due to arrive. Why can I not contact you?”

“Sturdy, functional bed. You get what you pay for - the quality and finish reflect the low price - but hey, you’re going to have your eyes closed most of the time, or be focussing on more important things (and it doesn’t squeak).”

We are certainly about the bed looking good too, and the powder coat finish is something we get lots of positive feedback on. “Really helpful lovely staff and very good quality beds and mattresses. A real find. I have had my beds for about a year now and they are great. It's good to have bought from a smaller independent company.”

“Very pleased with our new bed. Gorgeous bed and relatively easy to assemble although it is definitely a two person job. Sales staff were helpful and our bed was delivered within a few days. Detailed instructions on how to assemble . Went wrong a couple of times so I would say instructions could have been slightly clearer. Would definitely recommend this company.”

“What a find! Having shopped around this was by far the most reasonably priced yet the quality was far better than others considered from big names. Build quality is excellent and the frame very heavy and not cheap. Little details make it look great. Would definitely recommend....you won’t be disappointed.”

“I ordered the king size Ashley bed frame in glossy ivory with additional underbed storage and the Juno Wool king size mattress for our joint 60th birthday present and we are delighted! The young saleswoman took my order and payment over the phone and I was then given a choice of delivery date. I was kept informed by text when the delivery was nearby and the delivery man even rang to let me know he would be a bit late as they were stuck in traffic The bed arrived promptly, my husband and I put the bed together which was fairly easy and the instructions were clear and concise. The bed looks lovely in our room and the mattress is so comfy, like sleeping on a soft cloud! The storage drawers are very sturdy and spacious and hold lots of bedding; the only slight drawback is that they don't have lids so occasionally bits drop in from under the mattress, otherwise perfect. Thank you for such wondrful bedtimes!!”

“Courier delivery time was set to a two hour window, which kept getting pushed back on the day. After wait in all day for it to arrive, eventually they cancelled delivery for no known reason and I had a to re-book for a different day. Annoying waste of a day. When the bed did eventually arrive, there were scratches on the top of the bed posts, and damage to one of the plastic caps on the feet, plus a missing screw that holds the central frame pole into position. Disappoint, but having already spent two days waiting for it to be delivered, I couldn't be bothered to send it back for a replacement.”

“Could not recommend the Ashley Iron Bed enough, following post-op surgery it has been a god send, the most comfortable bed. The company where fantastic from the start, so helpful with the ordering process and sorting out delivery and installation, the added cost was 100% worth it! Had a lovely delivery guy that installed it simply and stress free taking the packaging with him. I would give it 10 stars if i could. Thank you so much The Original Bedstead Company!!!”

“Nice quality bed. Instructions were a little confusing regarding the fitting of the cross rail. It states over centre rail rather than under. Although this would be obvious to most, it would confuse some when fitting the slats later.”

“I finally received my bedframe on 23rd Oct 2019. I ordered the item on 5th October, partly because the website stated 3-5 day delivery service. Malcolm was helpful in trying to track down my item following a couple of phone calls. It turns out that Arrow (and probably most major delivery companies) do not venture further north/west than Glasgow as far as Scotland is concerned. Instead they farm out the delivery to a third party. Can I suggest to OBC that you state this situation regarding delivery on your website. I spent 2 weeks longer than I expected sleeping on a mattress on the floor and had a back problem to start with which is worse now. While I am very happy with the bedframe, I probably would have looked for a company who delivered direct within a short time frame.”
