“My partner and I went for a full 45 minute mole check a couple of weeks ago, and our experience was very good: the staff were friendly, very thorough and reassuring. A couple of moles that I'd been a touch nervous about were given the all clear (one wasn't even a mole, but a harmless dermal fibroma resulting from a reaction to an insect bite) and the lady who painstakingly went over every mole and freckle I had was happy to call in a senior colleague to check something she was 99% sure was fine, just to give me absolute peace of mind. I'd been quite stressed about going, and need not have worried at all. I felt in totally safe hands and walked out sure - for the first time ever - that all my moles are 'normal'. My partner felt the same way. A money-can't-buy feeling brought to me for just over £100 each (10% discount on the normal £125 as I booked my partner in at the same time): I paid more for a new car exhaust so I can't begrudge spending this on myself - only wish I'd done it sooner. An excellent service and one I will certainly use again every few years.”

“Very clean and efficient. Don't give much leeway for lateness. I think I was 5 minutes late due to awful traffic and nearly lost my appointment. As I live in Yorkshire that would have been a disaster. Luckily they agreed to see me.”

“Friendly welcoming staff with a thorough scan of moles by the nurse. A bit too much jargon from the nurse about moles but she did answer any questions I had and provided options for moles of concern. Report was reassuring and easy to understand. Great to have for my GP and Dermotoligist. I will be going back on a regular basis to ensure my mole check records any changes I need to act on.”

“I was surprised by how superficial the visit was. one generic information about moles and sun exposure was offered, but I felt that the whole exercise was a 25-minute box ticking, and no more. When I asked to have a mole checked on my head, for example, I was told that 'we don't do that', and only after pin-pointing it was it eventually looked at. Also felt that all the chat during the inspection meant that several bits (e.g. on upper arm) were missed, which I then had to ask to have checked. Overall, not at all worth the time or money.”

Thank you for reviewing our service and I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Our screening nurses provide information regarding moles and sun exposure to help clients prevent future skin cancers and this aspect of our service is appreciated by most of our clients. Moles located on the scalp and obscured by hair are generally excluded from our assessment due to lack of access and visibility. Our screening nurse's notes indicate that all of your visible moles were assessed for skin cancer without issue during your screening. Whilst our award-winning service is highly effective in the early detection of life-threatening skin cancers, and highly rated by the vast majority of our clients, we are always keen to consider ways of further enhancing the service. “The nurse was extremely professional and I was given a very thorough screening of ALL my moles. I was also given excellent advice on how to protect and prevent against any skin damage. I recommend anyone who has moles on their skin to have them all checked by The Mole Clinic.”

“I was impressed by the professional service I received on my first visit to the Mole Clinic. The female specialist who treated/examined me was great; she made me feel at ease, explained what I needed to look for to decipher a problematic mole, examined every mole on my body, told me a few facts about moles and freckles that I didn't know and gave me an all-clear result at the end of my consultation. Would recommend the Mole Clinic.”

“I was seen by an extremely pleasant, professional young woman who explained what she was doing and discussed the difference between moles and seborrhoeic keratoses. She recommended exfoliating daily to help remove the latter. Her examination was very thorough and she made me feel comfortable in what could be a rather embarrassing half-naked situation. She inspired confidence and I have no hesitation in continuing my annual Mole Clinic check. I was given a leaflet giving full information about seborrhoeic keratoses (strangely, this made no mention of exfoliation).”

“I have been to the Mole Clinic twice now, the first time it was great to know that even though i had a lot of moles and sun damage, my skin was fine, but its important to have regular checks and on my second visit some 18 months later, they discovered a small patch of basal cell carcinoma, which i could barely see, a quick visit to my GP and I'm having it removed in a couple of weeks, and i will be fine. Prevention is always better than cure so thank you Mole Clinic, i will be back for another check up next year. The examination is relaxed and very thorough, and they give you all the information you need, its a great service.”
