“I sold my phone to Smart Cellular in September. On 22nd September, I received an email notifying me of a reduction in value. When I queried this, I was told "the device has minor scratches on frame that are not easily visible without a close up and under bright lighting." This contradicts their description of an "excellent" condition device: "if a handset is in excellent condition this means, there will be minor signs of usage for example there may be a hairline scratch or mark on the handset... over all this handset is in excellent condition!"
After almost a week, I got a response with photos of the very minor scratches. The deduction was about the same as what I'd lose on postage by having them return the device, so I proceeded to provide documentation to prove that I had purchased the phone, as well as ID. After providing this information, I received an email on 3rd October telling me that their management team needed to review the order because the device was purchased abroad (US in this case) and I would receive a response by end of day on 4th October at the latest. After a further week of following up, I received a response today that they will not honour our agreement to purchase the device, but will return it to me via Royal Mail as a "gesture of good will".
Having reviewed the terms and conditions on the Smart Cellular website - specifically the "Business / Grading" section - multiple times over the past few weeks, I am confident that these have been modified to add "All Trade-In items must be a UK model". I have asked Smart Cellular now multiple times to confirm the date that these terms and conditions were last updated, but they have refused to do so.
I believe that Smart Cellular have acted in bad faith throughout this transaction, which I guess is a lesson in not always trusting the best price. At this point, the device is now worth more than £100 less than the price that was agreed. I just wish that I'd read some of the reviews on Trustpilot before sending my device to Smart Cellular.”

“I have been waiting over 16 days for my iPhone to arrive (after Smart Cellular stating it would take 3-5 days). Each time I contact customer services, I am told (lied to) that it will be with me a couple of days later 'at the latest', and still, no sign of the phone. This has happened four times over the course of the last two weeks. There is no valid reason for this delay given that the company has advertised the handset (which includes a detailed description of it and its condition), sold it to me, and taken my money. It is clear to me that the phone does not exist, and this company is mis-advertising and therefore misselling products. I have read the last couple of negative reviews, and they describe exactly the same experience as I am currently having. I will never use Smart Cellular again and urge anyone else not to trust this company. I am appalled by the blatant dishonesty of Smart Cellular and its staff.”

“"For delivery on 23/082022, order this item in the next 4hours" (see pic). I did (I actually bought it more than 24h before the deadline). Phone did not arrive by 23/08. I emailed them. Frankie replied: "We aim to have this delivered to you by the end of this week/mid next week at the very latest". Phone arrived neither that week, nor the other one. It was meant as a gift for my daughter's birthday. Birthday came, the phone didn't. No gift for her - very disappointing.”

“Just received an i phone 11 for my daughters birthday which was late on delivery. The website says 3-5 working days which is shorter than the 3 weeks it took to get. I made many phone calls getting jittery because I received no updates or communication from smart cellular knowing my daughters birthday was approaching. Eventually I was promised the phone which arrived a day late. The phone is fantastic but the customer service/ communication is very very poor. I will not be purchasing from smart cellular again and I don’t believe the trust pilot star score given for this company either!!!!”
