Passable with this experience, only because I was able to sort things myself. I'm disappointed that Shiply accept no responsibility should a courier not perform with professional standards. On this occasion it was Shiply who contacted me & stated (in an email), 'This should happen... Please contact Shiply if it does not...' When I made contact with this very problem, no one wanted to know! For some time now I have only used Shiply in an emergency, due to their 'not my problem' policy.

Hi, We are very sorry to hear that your delivery did not go as planned with your chosen transport provider. We do not carry out the deliveries ourselves, but rather, much like a shopping mall, we act as a neutral venue for consumers and transport companies to meet and transact. Just like the shopping mall example, every now and then transactions don’t go 100% smoothly and you need to resolve these issues directly with the retailer / transport company in this case. We do also operate a feedback rating system, where users can leave positive/negative/neutral feedback after each transaction which can help users with their decision on who they choose to transact with. I got a good company to deliver , but it took a week for them to receive my acceptance as it went into their junk mail. Also, you really have to leave the quotes coming in for a few days to get a good price.

The courier who took the job was very good when he collected the goods, That was on a weekday so suitable hours for working. unfortunately he delivered the goods at the weekend which was not really acceptable as normal working hours do not apply. So he arranged it for Saturday at some time!!!! My Garage man had to wait around most of the day as Andy could not be specific on Time!!!!. If he had said that at the beginning I might well have changed the booking. so a bit disappointed in that. plus I now have to pay extra for my garage mans time.

Car transported in good condition but collected one day later than advised and no contact from the transporter on the scheduled day of collection until chased in the afternoon.

In the end, this courier delivered the goods to the correct address, but about 10 days late. Omar needs to improve his organisation so that there is a proper paper-trail from the start to the end, with a formal contract at the start and a signature on delivery at the end. This may seem unnecessary, but if things go wrong (as they did here for valid reasons) the customer feels very exposed without a contract or proper contact details. Photographing the goods on delivery was very sensible and helpful. Shiply acted fast and decisively when told of the problems - good.

Whilst it was simple, and did work I found it rather disappointing when the automatic feedback system begged for feedback on the delivery, then sent an email saying "Please Leave Feedback – Final Reminder". Final reminder? Then what will you send people to my door to force me to submit my feedback? I'm a customer not a servant, whilst I understand feedback is important, it should be done when I have time, If I wasn't busy I would've collected the vehicle myself. If you want to generate more business, provide a small incentive for filling in a review. For example "Review your service with the driver and be entered into our competition" You don't need to eat into your margins, just simply offer a sensible incentive for completing a service that benefits everyone.

I was a bit disorganised in terms of the addresses to pick up and deliver, as I had never bought something from ebay which had to be shipped. Tony helped with this.

They did not make me happy! Please remember they are only the conduit to service providers, and any problems with service provider are out of their control., and they will not enter into any negotiations between your service provider or yourself.

Shipley introduced me to an excellent carrier, but I found the Shipley element of the subsequent fees disproportionately high.

They didn't. The driver John Slattery was unreliable, he didn't collect and deliver when he said he would, he did not let me know, told me that there should be someone to help him with delivery, was unimpressed that as a 68 year old woman would have to do, was rude, bullying me. The seller of the item which he collected called his behaviour "challenging". Luckily my family were visiting and the two adults were both ex police officers and took issue with driver otherwise I would haven't been at all comfortable with this man as his behaviour is intimidating. Never again. I paid him £1 less than I needed to so he said he could give me bad feedback!

The courier delivered the goods for a great price. NOTE: Shiply are just an introduction service. My recommendation is to ask the sender to send a picture of the van, the goods and the driver.
