“Its just a document that you are legally required to have; contains little of value and costs are excessive. Not clear to me what the difference is between Shepherd and any one of the other Surveyors hanging around the over-inflated property market in Edinburgh.”

“I would highly recommend Angus at Shepherds Montrose. His professionalism is unprecedented, mixed with a warm friendly approach. Honest and informative. He took his time in my property and pointed out a couple of issues and was able to advise me who to go to to rectify them which I did. I received his report very quickly, which I was so grateful for. Angus doesn’t muck about. Definitely merits 5stars”

“I have recently had a home report completed by Angus, he was punctual and efficient. Spent a good bit of time in my home and I believe wrote an accurate report, reflecting age of the house. The report highlighted some areas I was not aware of and I decided to take a bit of time to make the repairs in order for potential buyers to have some confidence in the property. Angus was supportive of this and subsequently amended the report to reflect the actions taken. I was appreciative of the support and advice given. I would feel confident about asking him for advice again.”

“The Home Report for the property we purchased only 2 months ago was carried out by J&E Shepherd, Dundee. It has proven to be very lacking. We have now discovered a number of serious issues requiring urgent attention. There are rotten timber windows that you can stick a finger into. There are rotten timbers around all the patio doors in the extension, plus leaks in most of the extension windows where sealant has failed, some of the gaps show daylight. These faults can all be seen without the need for ladders or any special access. The Home Report cited the need for future ongoing care, a '2', for the windows. Not literally falling apart and needing urgent attention. There were no concerns noted in the extension for timber care or window leaks. We took the Home Report at face value, since it was carried out by supposed professionals. How foolish were we? I would not trust any future HR from here.”
