Overall pleased with quality and end result but a couple of qualms. Planning and design was a torturously slow process, it is a large room but was difficult placing everything. If a computer had been used (like other companies) rather than sitting there while everything was drawn out it would have been a lot quicker and less painful. The other problem was getting a delivery and installation date. This made it difficult when booking the decorator and carpet installers. All doors and drawers functioning as they should at the moment.

Excellent quality, a designer who listened to what I wanted and gave advice on what would and would not work. Only criticism I have is that it was awkward arranging for a delivery and installation date and time that suited us and when booked this was subsequently changed by Sharps giving the impression that this should be at their convenience rather than ours. The quality of the furniture is excellent, very pleased with the design and fitting. We have been given additional storage which was very much needed. The two things I would recommend to improve would be after the fitting I needed to clean out the wardrobes and drawers as they had dust in then from the cutting and putting together, it would have been nice if this would have been done as part of the fitting service rather than me to clean before I could use them and secondly the wardrobes took longer to arrive than expected by 2 weeks. I am absolutely delighted with my bedroom, the work was carried out to a high standard by a very polite and professional workman - my only complaint would be that the wardrobe doors at either side of the bed don't close without being pushed but I know that a phone call to Sharps would get that rectified, I just haven't had the time lately but will phone soon.

Very good service from the sales person, surveyor and the fitter. Everybody and everything arrived at the correct time and my study is transformed. There is an issue with the file drawers in that they will not close if conventional file divider and identifier clips are used. This is irritating as it is necessary to actually look through files to find the correct one. If this had not been the case the furniture and service would have been 5*. I Hays

Very pleased with finished wardrobes, which look good and make the most of the awkward space we had to work with. Designer was very helpful and it was very convenient being able to arrange a weekend visit. Fitter was prompt to arrive and fitted the wardrobes in good time. He was neat and tidy, even helping to carry the old carpet outside for us. Calls to arrange installation were helpful and friendly. The negatives: surveyor was not so personable and was at the house for a long time, seemingly in no rush to finish the job. We had to arrange to extend the wardrobe size and redo internal plasterboard prior to fitting but no drawings were left to help our own joiner with dimensions for this. We eventually received a copy via email but they were of very poor quality and difficult to interpret. Instructions provided by the surveyor at his visit were very unclear. One door had to be re-ordered, as it had an unnecessary corner cut out and the handle was on the wrong side. The same fitter was able to return to fit the new door which was helpful.

Fitted to a good standard but the fitter had to order more stock as the measurements were incorrect. One of the doors sticks but overall were pleased with the finish. Nick Kidd

Jan Ciupek A good experience from start to finish. Took a little longer to fit than expected but the fitter was working in a small space. Salesperson and fitter were very courteous. Has changed our small bedroom into a lovely and useful dressing room.

We had a few quotes to fit out our walk-in wardrobe area and decided to go with Sharps which ended up with a good result but not without a slightly bumpy road to get there. We had the designer/salesman out to see us who drew up some designs following our quite well formed suggestions which at around 4 hours for the process took much longer than expected but that may be the normal amount of time but just be aware you are going to be required throughout that whole period. Like many other comments on this site, once we went to the next phase and the plans were reviewed by the design assessor and he informed us that the drawings just didn't work in the space we had available, which obviously hadn't changed since they were first measured as it was an empty room. The worst outcome was that the planned wardrobe dedicated to shoe storage with individually boxed off sections for each pair was not physically possible as they didn't make wooden divides thin enough to fit in 3 boxes per row. This was the key element that gave Sharps a USP over the other quotes to find out that it wasn't now possible was a big blow. The designs were redrawn with basically a shelf on each row with a central divide. It works practically but the visual effect of a high class shoe storage system was lost. There were also other points that just didn't work in the other design so it looked like the designs were drawn to ensure the sale rather and when I rang to complain I was put in touch to speak to the salesman directly which isn't really what I would expect. He had already got his commission and there didn't seem to be comeback on him from Sharps themselves so other than saying sorry I had to keep pushing it myself with the customer services. Although not as bad as some other experiences outlined here, it still took me a lot of effort to get just over £100 taken off the bill. The initial designer also told us that as we had a large room and the work was being carried out in a separate area of the room then we would be fine rolling the carpet back halfway back and storing the bed against the wall. When I rang to confirm the delivery date, I was told that this was all wrong and that the whole room would need to be cleared out including a super kingsize bed and mattress plus nearly 30 feet of rolled up carpet before the delivery could be made and that the gap between delivery and installation could be days. Fortunately I push this and obtained a compromise and got the scheduling prioritised to get the delivery and installation joined up. The installation phase of the process was excellent and the fitter was very knowledgeable, polite, tidy and efficient. He bought his own radio and tea making equipment so he was self contained and only bought us into the room when we needed to decide on a design feature. He also had the knowledge to identify where things on the plan would not work optimally in reality and discussed whether we wanted to make these changes which we accepted and are very happy with the results. It does seem a bit of a lottery of who we get assigned as to what your end result and customer experience is. Sharps don't seem to have installed a company wide standard of work and values which accounts for the wildly differing reviews. What does seem to be widely agreed is that once committed to using Sharps and having paid money, the customer services experience is less than optimal and is going to cost them business if it continues. We had a Sharps designer come in and talk through our requirements for a suit of bedroom wardrobes, she was very helpful and the design was finalised to our satisfaction so we placed an order. After this a surveyor came in and initially contradicted just about everything we had been told by the designer but once we progressed further into the survey the relationship improved. It transpired that the surveyor also installed the wardrobes and I have to say that this was done to a very high standard and completely to our satidfaction. During the build we were kept completely informed of progress and expected completion time - it took about five days in all - and were asked questions when there were alternative ways of installing shelves and fittings. We have had the wardrobes in place for three months or so now and despite the occassional issue at the start are very happy with them and would use Sharps again.

The service I received all through was very professional. The time scale was totally acceptable. The goods were deliveried by two very helpful men who carefully and with consideration, stored the items, ready for the carpenter to fit. His work in building the wardrobe was again with consideration and discussed the installation as he worked to ensure it was what I wanted. This is the second time I have used Sharpe and I would happily use them again. At the end of the installation, the area was left clean and tidy.

Having had two fitted bedrooms from Sharps I decided that I would have fitted bedroom furniture from them also. The lady in Stevenage showroom was very helpful and knowledgable and made an appointment for a designer to visit. I already had a good idea of what I wanted, but the designer was able to make a few alterations that made better use of the space. The surveyor had obviously done installation work in the past and added a few practical tweaks to the plan. The fitter was methodical, tidy and clean and was happy to work into the evening to complete the job in one day. All of the sharps staff who came to the house were punctual and professional. The office did not do so well and we had to chase for dates and times when the various people would be arriving. As to the product, overall very good with just a couple of niggles. Firstly, the underside of the desk 'worktop' has a very sharp right angle edge, it would be much better if this was rounded slightly. Secondly, the worktop is only available with the printed grain running parallel to the front and back edges. Since I have a corner desk this means that the 'grain' runs in a different direction on one side. Ian Brunt

Was recommended Sharps by a friend who was very satisfied but I was nervous in view of some of the online reviews! However, in the end the process was very smooth. The designer made some very helpful suggestions and produced a great dressing room design, the fitter was on time, very pleasant, neat and tidy and did a great job. The quality of the build and finish is excellent, and I am very happy with the result. The only problem I had was with the first customer services rep I spoke to in order to arrange a delivery slot - she was just plain rude so I ended the call and rang back and spoke to another lady who could not have been more helpful. The goods turned up as promised , undamaged and on time. Overall a good experience - let down by a customer service staff member who does Sharps no favours. A recurring theme in other reviews!! Really pleased with our fitted wardrobe which has made great use of an awkward space with sloping ceiling. Excellent customer service from start to finish. Although not all parts were correct when delivered this was quickly rectified!

The fitter was excellent and very professional. The salesman that came round to design the wardrobes etc was not very forthcoming, we had to press to get any more information than the basics and there are a few design faults that if he had been a bit more proactive could have been ironed out. Overall the service was good.

Overall we are very pleased with the service we recieved from the designer to the installer. We had looked at other options but couldn't find what we wanted but then we had sharps and they couldn't do exactly what we wanted but came up with alernatives which we are pleased with. Only downside was we were told it would be done in two days but should of been three in reality, but we had a fab installer that worked late into the night on both nights just to get it done so we didn't have to take more time off work.

Well fitted in the space but, unfortunately not to the same quality of our other fitted wardrobes we have in two other bedrooms from Hammonds. The offer price, for this bedroom, was the same but the end result is somewhat different. Whilst the overall effect is good the hinges are very poor, just screwed on the outside unlike the Hammond which are like the hinges on kitchen doors. This means they only open to 90 deg which in a tight space is restrictive. In our estimate we had asked for the skirting and Ceiling Cornice to be continues along the new wardrobes. This was agreed. However, the fitter just said 'I cannot do that'. I therefore did it myself as the end result means the new wardrobes look as though they were always there and not an afterthought!!

Very happy with pre-sale, design and cost. Build seemed to go very well but a couple of months in, one of the door knobs keep falling off and the door doesn't close fully. Not major issues but you don't pay for Sharps and expect B & Q. All that being said, I'm not sure it would put me off using Sharps in the future Thanks Seb Phelps

Make sure you know what you want and stick with it. No problem with the designer but be careful with the surveyor as he/she may make some changes to the design as a cost cutting exercise. If you can read and understand drawings, that's better as it is too late once the surveyor submits the order. The quality of the finished product is good. Had problems with the previous Sharps order so was better prepared this time. After sales service was a bit slow as the doors won't close flush after a few months. I don't like the practice of starting at a high price and then dropping the price during the sales talk with the designer/sales person as you would thing you are getting a bargain and agree. Shop around so to get an idea of the price first.

A bit of a faff getting the booking in place, then the follow ups, then the delivery, then the final installation. (They could really tighten up that process) But happy with the overall installation and the end product. **** (4 stars)
