I had a negative experience with this garage... the car that I decided to buy had a vibration on the brakes which was acknowledged by the Salesman on at the first test drive. I advised that I would buy the car when this issue was resolved. I was advised that work had been carried out and at a 2nd test drive it was very clear that the issue had not been resolved! at this time I was also advised that they were not prepared to do anything more to rectify the problem!!. My partner suggested that it could be that the brake discs and pads needed to be changed ...after much angst this work was carried out and did resolve the issue. However what should have been a pleasurable experience for me proved to be exactly the opposite. I therefore feel that I could not recommend this garage.

I was disappointed with the service provided by SG Petch at both the Middlesbrough and Darlington sites. We were recommended by a friend however we did not receive a very good service. We did purchase a vehicle however, this was because we had finally made a decision on what we wanted. This was not due to the staff service.

Took my Hyundai Tucson to SG Petch Hyundai Durham garage for it’s MOT due to it been closer than Gateshead Hyundai garage. Just under 3 years old and came back with both rear shock absorbers needed replacing and all 4 tyres cracked. Was advised to get changed as soon as I could. Done some research and found shock absorbers were under warranty. Called back and got booked in, why didn’t garage say this on pickup? As for tyres told it’s not their problem even though all four, reported cracked. Had car in again and was referred about tyres to ring Hankook. Talked to Hankook and said garage would deal with it if I bought new and probably get refunded difference on wear. Rang garage and wanted no part. They called Hankook and basically said the garage where I bought car from had to deal with it. Called Evans Halshaw and were happy to help, they couldn’t understand why SG Petch wouldn’t deal with problem. Never going to deal with this garage again. Poor customer service and no interest if there’s any problem.

Good Morning I bought a car from you and on the first day at to take it back with brake issues, this was rectified with new callipers and pads. returned to pick my car up only to return it back again1 hour later with faulty sensors. This was worked on and a loan car was issued ! I have now got my car back all ok just waiting for the wheels to be touched up and my mud flaps fitting on Thursday 31/10/19 then hopefully I should have trouble free motoring for a few years. After sales service from the Middlesbrough branch is disgusting. bought a second ix35 with white powder marks on the wheels, arranged to get them replaced but after 10 months the wheels were the same. agreed to pay half and when I went to collect the car only 3 wheels had been replaced and was informed by Laura Williams that if I wanted the forth wheel replaced I would have to pay full price, I have purchased my cars from this branch for many years and dealt with Tony Hill who is fantastic sales guy. I was told that the manager would ring me ? still waiting after 3 months. would not recommend SG Petch Middlesbrough

Appalling service following damage caused due to staff not doing their job correctly. This reulted in us paying £700 for repairs which SG Petch admitted fault.

Worst garage we have ever dealt with in our 42 yrs of driving . Sold us 2 faulty cars and one of them the repairs were over 6 thousand pounds , we part exchanged the car as it was still faulty when we received it back after 8 weeks . Second car had no working washers for windscreen because they sold it with rodent damage through all pipes in car . Returned this car also at a cost to us of 13 hundred pounds , lost our deposit of 2 and a half thousand too . Worst garage ever customer service is rubbish , lies and broken promises . We have Stopped 2 of our friends going to this garage to buy new cars and will not recommend them to anyone .

Bought 2 cars from this garage first car had so many faults when they sold us this car had to go in to have over 6 thousand pounds spent on it and it took them 8 weeks , got car back and had more faults with car so had to go back in at which point we rejected car and purchased another more expensive car thinking that would be the end of our problems but after 4 days of driving car had to use wipers to clear windscreen and the water wasn’t going on screen it was all coming out of bottom of car . Took car back and they informed me that it was rodent damage and said we would have to book it in at this point we had enough and rejected car and wouldn’t buy another car from them . We lost 2 and half thousand pound deposit and also the garage charged us another 13 hundred pounds to get out of the deal and we had only had second car a week . If anyone would like to buy a car that is reliable and they don’t want to be ripped off don’t go to sg petch at Darlington . Worst garage we have ever dealt with in all of our 42 years of owning cars . We have already Stopped 2 friends from going there to buy a car and we have also been contacted by so many people that we don’t know who have had the same horrific service from Sg petch at Darlington . Please do not use this garage to buy a car . On a positive note we now have a new car from a great dealer who really does value your custom and hasn’t let us down or told us any lies .

I received awful service from sg petch. Firstly, they told me that my car would be ready on the Monday and when I arrived they told me that I was having a new car as it wasn't ready. I wasted petrol in getting there as they could of phoned me and told me that it wasn't ready and would have saved the hastle. Secondly, they gave me a new car which didn't have any petrol in so I had to put my own petrol which if I had had my other car ready I wouldn't have had to put any petrol in. Once I went to pick up my car they took one hour to fill it with petrol and give it to me. The whole experience was awful, the sales person who was dealing with us was rude and obviously couldn't be bothered to contact us to tell us the car wasn't ready. I'm sure that if I had bought a brand new car the whole experience would have been different but because the car was 3 years old I felt tlike I was messed about the whole time. Would probably never go back there again.

Very poor to request a review, when the car is not delivered and no sign of date of delivery! Please sack the review organizer for better customer relations! Worse still 2 days later, received a review request from Abarth!

Very disappointed with the service department. Rang in the afternoon to get a tyre puncture fixed, they told me they would call me back, I rang them every hour until 6.05pm when I was told that the service department had closed without ever contacting me. Now too late to ring any other garage and left with an unsafe car for the weekend.

Hurrendous garage , told lie after lie and sold us faulty cars , they are keen to sell you cars but the after sales is hurrendous . Driving around in a car that should of failed mot ( and have video proof ) this has been going on since September last year and purchased 2 cars that have been returned to garage . Please do not use this garage unless you want lots of lies and distress .

Worst garage we have ever dealt with , purchased two cars within 7 months and both were faulty. One shouldn’t have even passed mot and we were driving it illegally. Lost 4and half grand on these cars . Will never use SG Petch at Darlington again .

Initial contact and pre sale, we the wife and I were very happy with all aspects of buying a new 69 reg car. The sales person met and bettered all of the criteria We required from finance to vehicle type and specs. A refundable deposit was given by us. However we cancelled the purchase About 7-8 days before the end of February 2019. We requested the refund of the deposit and expected it to be in the bank in about a week. To date 18/03/19 no refund even after numerous calls,emails & on line chat sessions and assurances it would be dealt with, the reality ZILCH and no one to one contact from Petch. The moral of this story they will bend over backwards to get you to buy,cancel and your no longer worthy of any courtesy or of being contacted. Obviously we are not recommending Petch of Durham to family and friends and to those of you who read this review. There was not a virtually impossible choice of “How easy was it to get a refund” so highlighted the Very Hard Our next step looks as though it will have to be us contacting a solicitor for getting our deposit back and seek compensation as well as legal costs.

I bought our new SEAT Mii last June. Still under warranty. Before buying a car here try ringing and ask to speak to the service department. You will have a long long wait and you may not get an answer at all

I have never dealt with such an incompetent garage ever. The sales man was more interested in telling me about his personal life. His knowledge on Jeep is poor. I purchased a brand new Jeep Night Eagle, the diesel filter leaked and it pulled to the left. The aftercare service was horrendous and the problem was not resolved. I had to pay another garage to resolve this and still have not been reimbursed my money. Never buy a Jeep fro this garage!

Hi Suzanne, it's a bit disappointing to read your comments after we collected your vehicle and delivered it back to minimise your disruption (140 mile round trip each time). We also spoke to Jeep Technical who could not fault the vehicle and we also took the vehicle to a 3rd party garage for another opinion. We understand your frustration as it was still not the outcome you wanted but we can only take guidance from the manufacturer. The Jeep sales executive you dealt with has been on all the relevant Jeep training and we have never had any negative comments about his product knowledge.

Arranged to trade my car in for a new car, arrived on time at the show room after a long out of town journey . The sales person Andy was busy with another potential sale ,did not even acknowledge my arrival whist we waited in the waiting area for a long period. Finally he was free and sat us down and gave me the paperwork to sign. Hold on one one minute does he not even want to show me the car I was buying! I wanted to see it and test drive the purchase ! Andy was just wanted me to sign the paperwork quickly and leave the showroom quickly with the car so he has his commission sale ! On checking the paperwork I notice my name was spelt incorrectly on the purchase paper, I told him it should be correct on the VO5 document, he told me it would be corrected later. Guess what received my new V05 few days later with the incorrect name. Poor shoddy customer service with no interest in the customer at all, just wanted the sale. never again.
