Absolutely shocking service. Kept my car overnight without telling me. No means of communicating with them as they’d keep you on hold and the number they divert you to voicemail when you call their other lines. I also emailed several times with no response. They provide a report with no cost breakdown and give you the most expensive jobs on your car that you most probably don’t need. Worst service ever and will never use again. Feel like I’ve been robbed. Horrible company.

Really rude guy on phone who put phone down abruptly whilst I was talking! He wasn’t interested once I declined the recommended work. Won’t use them again.

Total scam, you paid for the cheap MOT and service then there’s always going b things that needs replacing which is where they get you , and the attitude when you don’t want it done at £1000+ is astonishing; my suggestion, you can use them, but don’t do any work that isn’t mot necessary.

Booked for service and mot, supposed to get the car back same day, was contacted around 5.40pm and told it was going to cost £500+ For my car to get through an mot, told them I would call the next morning and spent hrs on hold, didn’t know where my car was, so contacted the number I had from the lady who picked it up, she gave me a number for a garage, eventually they said my car was there! Told them I wanted it back and they said they wouldn’t release it without service stops say so, but you don’t pick the phone up, rang the police who said they have no legal right to hold your car and if I needed they would attend, service stop contacted me and I told them I had googled the garages number and my husband was on his way, said I would never recommend them and he said it’s not my fault your car didn’t pass it’s mot! Tried to get another £68 after I’d already paid £124! Abysmal customer care, have since read other reviews and would advise anyone to avoid at all costs

Awful communication, came for my car on morning, not at 9 as arranged, heard nothing all day and could not get through on numbers given, put on hold for ridiculous amount of time, finally got a call to say my car had failed Mot and that it would need further investigation. I asked them to return vehicle to me and I would take car to another garage, the operative put the phone down on me. Cut a long story short could not get through, my car had still not been returned to me at 8am the next day, I called servicing stop when lines opened, finally got through to customer service, politely explained if my car was not returned to me I would be contacting trading standards and the police! Amazingly within minutes I was told car would be with me at midday, on its return I was given my failed MOT and no mention of any service done. I was told it would cost me £15 to have the retest done if I was foolish enough to return to that garage. When I asked how much it would be to get work done on one fail I was told it would need further investigation. Well if your reading this you have probably read other reviews and know this means the price of repairs will keep being inflated. After reading the reviews( I only wish I’d done that earlier) I am actually relieved I got my car back, I’m £90 down for basically having my car taken for 24 hrs and a heap of aggro, but compared to the other horror stories I got off lightly. I feel daft I fell for this scam and I only hope if you are reading this it’s because your doing your research, do not use this dodgy business , just go to a well known reputable garage.

Categories My Reviews My Settings Help LOG OUT Alternate Text Damon Lewis GB For companies Your review counts! You reviewed Servicing Stop Add photo Damon Lewis 1 review 1 star: Bad Just now Poor experience Poor. I booked a service and MOT though Service Stop to be completed today (23/11) i was aware that I needed new tyres and so requested a quote from the garage I was linked with. I had to get this done through Service Stop who ignored calls all day so couldn't. At the end of the day Sevice Stop then rang me to say I needed lots of additional work and were bizarrely aggressive despite it already passing its MOT earlier. I said that I would arrange with a garage directly as and when, I was hung up on (even though I'm super polite). The garage then received a phone call from Service Stop threatening them for 'stealing business' (which didn't exist yet) and to my knowledge the garage even tried to do the right thing by pointing me back in Service Stops direction. My experience has been poor of an aggressive middle man who draw you in with a cheap service to top slice everything extra. In future I would recommend generating a relationship with a local garage, it'll probably be cheaper in the long run and they will probably be appreciative.

So because I’m a woman they thought they could con me!! Quoted nearly £1000 for work that should actually be around £250!! Absolute joke! And the man I spoke to was rude and put the phone down on me when I wouldn’t agree to the works! Avoid at all costs!

Not a good experience. Tried to phone them when booking details did not arrive. Finally managed to cancel part of order on website, but cannot use form to cancel the rest. Prepaid by credit card, and hope firm will refund whole payment. Pity they give the impression of being less than honest - it is such a great idea!

Absolute shambles. Don’t do anything they advertise. Car wasn’t picked up when supposed to be. Didn’t get the car back that day despite telling them I needed it first thing the next day. Extra work fabricated at exorbitant prices. Garage they say it was sent to doesn’t even exist! Can’t get hold of them in the phone. Waited 40 minutes to get through then given platitudes and lies. Strange that on their advertising page all their reviews are 5* until, sadly after the event, I dug deeper and found the real ones! Still haven’t got my service and handbook back..Still waiting for them to ring me back a week later! DO NOT USE PLEASE!!

Told me everything was ok and it past it's MOT, just the brake fluid and oil needs doing and I would get it back by 3pm Friday, when I pay the remaining cost. After ringing them 9 times on hold 15mins pre-time, sending 5 emails, lossing three days of work because I didn't have any car, £35 on taxi's and still no invoice for the job. Three days later they decided to call me up and tell me that I haven't paid. I told them how unsatisfactory this was because the invoice was blank and they just talked over me and didn't care. Then they called me back again to tell me that "oh btw, it hasn't pass it's MOT sorry"

No call prior to collection as promised. Prices for additional work quoted very high. Total invoice price not as expected & no breakdown provided so I could not see how this price was worked out - phone lines constantly engaged. Had to google the garage address (provided in conf email) to find an alternative number - called the mobile number found and was told that they (the garage) have trouble with communication with service stop also but would try and get hold of them and ask them to call me. I received a call about 10 minutes later from Service Stop and was told there were additional fees (£5.99 plus VAT for liquid top-ups as well as added VAT to £7.99 surcharge which again was not outlined in the confirmation email). The chap who called me was helpful and apologised. He said this information should be in the confirmation email. He was able to remove the additional £5.99+vat charge but could not remove the VAT on surcharge. Not entirely happy as these are hidden fees but want to get my car back asap so accepted to pay the few extra £. Unfortunately, due to the hassle for what should have been a quick, no fuss, service, I doubt I will be using this company again. It is a shame as every time my car is due for a service there always seems to be some 'advantage taking'. Very frustrating :(

Absolutely no problem with the garage, but the Service Stop customer service was unbelievable appalling. Tried to add over £200 worth of (IMO unnecessary) extra work and hung up when I refused. No way I would ever recommend this company.

No evidence of the service i paid for being completed. The car only came back with MOT paperwork. They do not answer the phone or email. They also try to charge you ridiculous prices for extra's.

In this time of lock downs and a global pandemic, the convenience of having a company collect your car, have it serviced and then return it is appealing, even more so if you live in a rural location. Due to lockdown, my MOT had been delayed, so before the government extension ended, I booked my car in for a service and MOT with service stop. They gave me a date which was convenient. I then arranged my week around that date. The day before, at 19:00 I received a text saying that due to "unforseen circumstances" they could not service the car and offered me an alternative date, a date that was not convenient for me. I text back saying this was not convenient and offered another date. No-one text back, I received no communication. I telephoned Service Stop, I had to wait half an hour before they answered, again I got the same "unforeseen circumstances" line, I really have no idea what this means, however we arranged for another date. I stated the urgency of this as the time limit was only a week away from finalising. Again, a day before, at 19:00 I recieved the "unforseen circumstances" test and the offer of another date. The next day, I again (at 09:00) phoned Service Stop, even at that early time, I still had to wait for half an hour, again I was given the "unforeseen circumstances" line. we rebooked an agreed date, that date comes round, nothing happened, I did not even receive a text this time, just nothing. Knowing it was urgent, I booked in with a local garage for an MOT which was duly carried out. I then received a text from Service Stop giving me the "unforeseen circumstances" rubbish and telling me they had booked my car in for another date. I didn't even bother replying to this, my car had already been MOT'd, I was sure this wouldn't happen, and on the given date, absolutely nothing happened and to date (three months later, they have not bothered to contact me. Total waste of time, their reputation is zero with me, I would not recommend them to anyone.

NEVER AGAIN! DON’T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE! 1. I booked Servicing Stop for two reasons: (1) the initial quote of £85.49 for an Interim service + MOT; and (2) the convenience of collection & delivery of the car. I did a price comparison with other local garages; Mr Clutch and Kwik Fit came to just below £130 for Interim service + MOT (Mr Clutch also offers a simple oil&filter + MOT at around £87 but I figured, why not get an Interim service for the same price). With Servicing Stop, we ended up paying £133 for oil&filter + MOT (not even the promised Interim service that was booked)! 2. When booking the service, they don’t include the standard “£7.99+VAT environmental surcharge (…) and a flat fee of £5.99+VAT for the bonnet fluid top ups (if required)”. This is written in small print below the ‘book now’ button, but for clarity should be included in the quote price since it’s going to be charged no matter what. So when you then click through to the “pay in advance” page, you get quoted the initial price plus the environmental surcharge. That came to £96.28. 3. The small print also states that “Specialist Oil may be required for your vehicle; this is a set cost of £24.00+VAT”. As it’s a ‘MAY BE’ (as well as that the bonnet fluid top up is “if required”, the service agent (garage) or Servicing Stop should call to inform about this and avoid nasty surprises when paying the bill. However, no information was given. 4. After booking, the website states that an email will be sent, to advise which garage will service the car –- we never got that. We didn't know that the car was going to be taken to a garage 20 miles from our home, costing us 40 miles worth of petrol. 5. The car was collected at 11:00am (instead of 8:00am-10:00am), by someone who did not have a Servicing Stop ID card. We had to kindly ask him for identification and which garage he is taking the car to (he was very helpful and understanding), and call the garage to verify this. You’re handing your car over to a complete stranger. 6. At 4:00pm, we called the garage; they said that the car had been ready since 3:00pm, and asked if we had not received a call from Servicing Stop in order to discuss the work that was carried out and any additional recommended work. Even by 5:00pm we did not get that call. Meanwhile, we tried calling Servicing Stop ourselves, to no avail (just stayed on hold for half an hour – and that wasn’t the first time we tried to speak to someone there). 7. We finally got a call from a Servicing Stop representative, who was very ill-mannered and said that the car had passed the MOT, oil and filter had been changed and that there were a few “urgent” additional repairs/ replacements and if we “chose to ignore those, we’d be a danger on the road”. (When we checked this later with the garage, they mentioned a few things to keep an eye on for the future - nothing urgent - and the car was absolutely fine.) We asked the rep about all the other checks that are stated on the website under Interim Service and were abruptly told that Interim service is “just oil and filter change” and he told us to pay £133.07. When asked why that amount (when booked it was set at £96.28 after all) he said it was because they had used specialist oil and topped up bonnet fluids. Once again, if there are costs additional to what was initially quoted, this should be advised to the customer earlier and not when the bill is presented. Moreover, I do believe “bonnet fluids” includes windscreen/wiper fluid – well that was definitely not topped up and actually was completely empty when the car was returned. The rude rep continued to say that the car wouldn’t be released unless the amount was paid in full online. No civil conversation could be had with him about this surprise surcharge as he simply said he had other calls waiting, told us to pay and then hung up the phone without the slightest courtesy. 8. We paid the amount online, as we had no other option and needed to get our car back. We called the garage to inform them that it was paid. The garage said they would wait to receive a payment notification from SS, but 90 minutes later they called back to say they had still not received that. They were kind enough to deliver the car to us if we could please send them a screenshot of our payment confirmation, which we did. The guy at the garage was very nice and I felt that he was as disappointed with SS as we were.
