THE PROMISE: Best price guarantee-Find a better deal, we match it! THE REALITY: So I've asked the garage I took my car to how much the work would cost in total which was £280 including vat then Servicing Stop calls me and said that it will cost £671.74 - WHY? They now have nothing to do with my booking. THE COMPLAINT: Here is my email to Servicing Stop (Which they have not replied to) ------------------------------------------------------------ Hi Chris, I am attempting to contact you by phone which is impossible and also trying to cancel my agreement with you as you have clearly done nothing in this case but your customer services email just bounces back to me so I've sent the email to both directors. No one came to collect the car on the agreed date just like before so this time I contact the garage directly and booked it in myself. I then collected the car from thee garage so where did you feel the right to become involved in my service? The garage told me that they charge £30 for a pollen filter fitted and inc vat so why did you charge £105? This work including VAT should have been £280 so why are you contacting ne with a bill from your company of £671.74. This is an overcharge of £391.74 and you have not even been involved. God can walk on water but please get a grip of reality here Oliver. ------------------------------------------------------------ WHAT THEY SAY ON THE WEB: Look on sitejabber - Says it all!! --- Now, If you look at the MoneySavingExpert article 'Servicing Stop rip off garages as well as customers!' MoneySavingExpert even have a legal team called Resolver who will help you with your issues - 'Having problems with Servicing Stop? Use Resolver to make a complaint. It’s quick, easy and (best of all) it’s free.' --- Also take a look at 'Servicing Stop 70% off sale advert ‘misleading’, ASA finds' by Tom Sharpe. --- This is from DragonsDen's Deborah Meaden And this is what Deborah Meaden placed on her website… *Important announcement re Servicing Stop* Following a number of complaints regarding the service provided by Servicing Stop, Deborah would like to make it clear that although she made an offer in the Den, the investment did not go through and Deborah is not in any way connected with Servicing Stop. --- Reviews on INDEED from former staff: Poor Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - London, Greater Not great, you have to lie to customers about what service a car requires. It's a high pressure sales, so you must be confident. You do learn about cars. Pros Learn about cars Cons Long hours ---- Terrible environment Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) - Enfield At first when I started I was really excited as it had been my first job after taking a year off work due to health reasons. I must say after a few weeks it all changed. The managers are liars. They pay is rubbish. Thr company just rips people off and lies to them. Pros You would get 3 breaks instead of two. Plus a lot of overtime available. Cons There are way too many. --- IN SUMMARY: How can any customer save anything if Servicing Stop are only booking your car into a local garage then calling you with the price for the extras at 3.5 times the price of the local garage? --- SOLUTION: If you have read this then you know now - DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM! POST SOLUTION: If you are reading this now and have already been ripped off by Servicing Stop then contact Resolver via the MoneySavingExpert website. WHAT NOT TO DO: Have any protracted conversations with these people trying to state your claim as this will only serve to frustrate you even more. Regards, Bill

Avoid this company at all costs,or it will cost you dear. The attractive home pick up,and competitive MOT and service prices are a cover for the robbery that is to follow. What started out as a £100 job could ,if I'd fallen for the con, have cost me over £1000. The salesman who contacted me after the MOT, told me that it had failed and needed a new tyre. Then came the additional recommended work, £700 +vat for gear box oil change, new brake discs, brake fluid, pollen filter etc, etc. I agreed, for safety reasons to the brake fluid. Then he told me the price for the tyre,£78? Having checked prices beforehand, I told him that was daylight robbery. He came back with a story about small garage unable to get big dealers discounts etc. Load of rubbish. The total bill was over £300, which I paid to get my car back. When car was returned, the replacement tyre was found to be a cheap economy tyre ,cost about £40. They had charged double that, £79. In the end, I believe they have doubled the true cost of the work, which on checking with a local garage would have been @£150. I don't even think I got the full service that I paid for, more just an oil and filter change? This company needs closing down. Use at your peril. Would have given a ' no 'star rating if possible.

I have never written a review before but I really do feel that people need to be aware of how bad this company is. I really don’t want anyone to have to deal with the nonsense that I have just had to deal with over the last couple of days. I have spent so much time waiting for someone to answer to the call to then to be told the person is on another call and I need to wait for a call back that never happens. Apparently there is only one person doing each job and unless it’s their category they cannot help, and don’t expect to be told when your car will be ready or if anything else needs doing to it as the only person that can tell you that is on a call and you need to wait for a call from him, as he is the only person dealing with this role god knows how long it will be until you reach the top of his list to contact. We ended having to threaten to go and collect the car ourselves and drive it away and for them to send us an invoice of any work that they did when that person who deals with that section finally Gets off the phone! Do not let this company drive away with your car unless you love the sound of elevator music!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use this company. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews as I accept all companies have their off days but the service and pressure tactics used by this lot need reporting. No doubt they will point out that they are just the agents and not the garage but guess what... they pass YOUR criteria to be one of YOUR garages. I had the the garage not turn up the first day and then be late the next time. Add to that it took me an hour on two separate occasions to get through to Servicing Stop, who then attempted to sell me an engine flush on a new car! Truly appalling company. Please avoid

I would not recommend using this company. I booked a service - paid in advance. Was supposed to get a £8 discount for paying early - didn't happen. The garage came and took my car. Servicing Stop rang to say that I needed a new tyre, brake fluid, etc. I said I didn't want to pay extra and asked them to return the car. The guy said they can't do that and put the phone down. I tried to contact them by phone, hung on for half an hour and gave up. The garage returned my car a few hours later. They knew nothing about what had happened and said that they couldn't legally keep my car anyway. I have e-mailed Servicing Stop asking for a refund of the fluids they had charged me (which should have been included in the service price) and the £8. I have had no response whatsoever. Hence writing this review to warn others.

NEVER, EVER AGAIN - STAY AWAY!!! This was the first time I have used Servicing Stop and will never do so again. I CAN NOT WARN PEOPLE ENOUGH TO STAY AWAY. Car picked up promptly at 8am on the day, then had a missed call at 10.30am advising to call back (so far, so good)....however, was unable to get through to Customer Services after numerous attempts up until gone 3pm (and waiting on hold for up to an hour each time with no answer). Finally an agent called back at around 3.30pm to advise further work required, including 'special' oil change, which is apparently unique to my car - a complete load of rubbish after checking this with the manufacturer. Reluctantly agreed to the repairs etc and was promised that I would be contacted back by 5pm, to let me know if they would be able to return the car the same day.... low and behold, it is 1.30pm the day after and I am still waiting for the car to be returned, or at least a phone call to explain why they have kept it longer than they promise. Quotes are extremely misleading, as VAT is not included or mentioned until the work is agreed to by the customer - by which point they are requesting payment and holding the car practically to ransom. Absolutely shocking service and almost £500 out of pocket for a simple MOT and interim service. I finally ended up calling the Garage who carried out the service etc, who advised that the repairs had been completed by 11am on the second day - however, servicing stop had not told the garage that the payment had been made, and that they were still under instructions not to release the car. It has taken for me to forward the proof of payment to the garage directly, before they would agree to bring the car back. It is now 5.37pm on the second day - the car has just been returned, but according to the garage is still flagged on their system as 'do not release'. ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL. Have now spoken with Trading Standards, who have agreed that they are in breach of contract. Finally, they advise that to make a complaint, a customer has to call them or use the online form - THERE IS NO ONLINE FORM AND THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. I for one, will not be letting this drop.

Please please please do not use these people. They rip you off so badly. They really are thieves. I used a year and a bit ago. They offered cheap service but do not do anything like oil change etc which all costs more as extra and not normal decent prices so that makes up the difference if you used Halfords etc for your service. I did the service and MOT but learnt from my mistake. They took full advantage of the new rules where if you fail they won’t let you take car away by classifying as not roadworthy. They failed me on 2 rear tyres need replacing and brake pads. Their cost for this was £550+ and they refused to come down over phone so I had to pay for it to release my car and was fleeced. For that price you would expect Michelin tyres. Nope, I live in Ilford and I know tyres max any garage is £45 for cheap ones and that is what I received when car was returned paying 3 times the cost I would have elsewhere. Few searches around changing brake pads at most £150 to £180 for 1300cc engine. So I would have expected a bill for roughly £250. Worst thing is they use local garages that I know prices for and yet still ripped me off. Never again and I’ll take on the hassle myself of going to a local garage. Please avoid and save yourself from being robbed by these thieves.

I wish to God I had read these real reviews and not the website ones that praise them. Can only echo what's been said...116 for MOT and service ended up £365! With a call saying if I wanted the car back same day at 4.45pm! I needed to pay now. I felt pressure to pay as I needed the car back for work that evening. They charged the extra for the oil change and brake fluid change which I actually don't think was even done but if it were should have been in the service!! Appalling service and they need to be stopped!

The car collection went to time, but after the service I was then presented with a list of extra items by the SS guy ( I thought I was talking to the garage manager but SS take the feedback of them) which totalled an additional £640 on top of the £166 I paid up front . Much was inessential- but it failed an MOT on tyre wear. I took the car off them with the Fail ( had to collect myself) and got it done elsewhere with much better quality tyres at a lower price. Buyer beware of these people. Incidentally the SS guy Chris disconnects his phone after the debrief.

Hi Chris, I am attempting to contact you by phone which is impossible and also trying to cancel my agreement with you as you have clearly done nothing in this case. No one came to collect the car on the agreed date. Apparently the garage only picks up 2 cars per day therefore I had to contact them directly and book it in with them then take the car over and get public transport home. At this point I’d like to point out that this was the only reason I choose your service. I also had to collect it today from the garage so I’m really wondering what service you have in fact provided me apart from overcharge for parts three fold. The garage told me that they charge £30 for a pollen filter fitted and inc vat so why did you charge £105? This work including VAT should have been £280 and not £664.55. This is an overcharge £384.55 which is simply unacceptable seeing as you have done absolutely nothing to deserve this. I have spoken to my bank and explained the situation so we are waiting for you to take the pending payment from my account before starting a dispute. Really not keen on extortion such as this so I will be making every effort possible to make the general public aware of just how much you charge and for what. Regards, Bill

My car, which was returned yesterday with a bill of over &600, was found to have faulty indicators when I drove it today. They were working before the costly service and MOT and the car seemed to have no problems. What else has been missed by this untrustworthy firm and what else has been deemed "essential " when it was just a money-grabbing opportunity ? Use any other local or national well-known company. I wish I had ! Kate Taylor

Service and MOT for car came to over £600. This included "essential" extras or con tricks. I wish I had read these real reviews before. Rates diabolical not "competitive" as they claim. AVOID. They should not be allowed to trade.

Having tried this company. I am somewhat appalled at their service of when you have a complaint. Nobody answers the phone and Customer Service do not reply to Emails!!! Having tried this company for the first time. My car went in for a full service. The guy who collected and delivered my vehicle back to me was pleasant. The quote on booking stated £99. No mention that you pay for the oil? Most garages it is all included!! When later that day I received a call giving me a breakdown on what needed doing on the car. That totalled up to £745.00!!!! Which I do not recall asking for? Only thing I mentioned was to check the Break pads. As this was an advisory on when I had the car MOT done in June by my regular garage! Final bill was £145.00 for a Full Service. The next day a fault light appeared on my dashboard and radiator light on. Having checked the water it was fine. However having effortlessly trying to contact this company is a No No. Just Cowboys. I also was supposed to get a service book stamped. That never happened. For all I know the car probably was not even serviced. Recommend them No Never. If they cannot respond to my complaint. I will get the car looked at to see if any work was actually done? Then will report this. Scam of a Company.

This company fools people by offering reduced service fees and empty promises of efficiency!! Far from it! Having cancelled the initial agreed date, once car was in they called with an endless list of additional work that was 'required'. I smelt a rat when not only did I need front and back brake pads, I needed the discs too and spark plugs plus special oil and filters setting me off an estimated additional £600 to my humble offer of £92 full service 😡. I did the oil and refused the rest. When my car was returned after so much pleading because the garage felt unsafe to drive it- I took it to my regular garage. Guess what, my discs didn't need replacing neither did my front brake pads! The spark plugs did not need changing and although ticked off as work undertaken via Service Stop, these were the old longlife ones my garage fitted. So basically I paid for a full service for what- I don't know. Not a good way to look after my hard earned money 💰

Extra work needed doing apparently, even though items I was told to replace already had been the week before. Servicing stop are a brokers, they organize a garage to collect your van and do the work, they then call you with false work that needs doing, if you refuse they won’t release the vehicle. Also if you refuse they will quadruple the service price to over 400 quid. Hopefully people read these reviews before booking these jokers.

****PLEASE AVOID****if you want to ruin your day and feel terrible and foolish, annoyed and helpless all at the same time, then these cowboys have all the tricks and skills to talk you down. Their rep will call you by mid day to discuss the extras and if you question anything, you get manipulated answers in aggressive tone. They are extremely rude and the one on the phone to me was mansplaining me by talking about the regulations of the country! He said I had no right to know where my car was, as it is insured it should be OK. I was clearly fooled and still waiting on them to return my car. They don't reply the phone calls and you as their customer will be raging so please please stay away!!
