“I arrived for my eye test. The Optician said she might need to take a call from her Solicitor. I said ok assuming that if it happened it would take 5 or 10 minutes max. We started the eye test and about 10 minutes in she received a phone call and it was her Solicitors so she left the room. I waited over 15 minutes when a colleague came and said she would not be long. I again waited but started to loose my good will over it as I had only parked for an hour. After 22 minutes still no sign of the Optician I have never experienced anything so unprofessional. I left sad and annoyed that I had wasted my time and money. I did speak the 2 ladies on reception and told them why I was leaving. I have had no contact from the branch or apology and quite honestly I have never been treated that way before. I would not recommend the Doncaster branch after my experience and I am planning on putting a review on Facebook when I get time.”

“I had a hearing test at Marple Medical Centre SK6 6AB on 7th March 2024 at 1.00pm. The room in which the test took place was completely unsuitable. It was a small room off a corridor clearly used as a cupboard. It had no soundproofing, so extraneous noise from the corridor was present throughout the test and could be heard when the headphones were being worn. I am a radio drama producer by trade and used to listening to small sounds. It was impossible to distinguish corridor noise from test noise except when the headphones were being worn between test procedures. It would not be difficult to soundproof the space. In addition the test was conducted by a young person clearly recently qualified who had no 'bedside manner' whatsoever. At the end of the test she described the results and then said she was going to give me hearing aids. I refused. I would have thought the correct approach would have been to discuss the findings with Px and then offer solutions. Perhaps she gets paid on commission? Do they have targets to achieve?”

“Very welcoming and attentive staff giving efficient service. What did disappointment me was not only was some of the equipment not the most up to date but also and in some way more obvious, was to POOR state of the clients chair in the consulting room. This is not acceptable as it makes one wonder what else is not being looked after properly. The whole area needs to be spotless.”

“I had an eye test today at the Hythe branch, I could not fault the service I received from the eye test to choosing new glasses, all the staff there could not have been more helpful, was not rushed, and any questions I had were dealt with , would recommend. Thank youall.”

“I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received, the helpfulness and the patience of Shaun whilst choosing new frames. The price a little on the high side but I did choose the more expensive frames so not the fault of Scrivens. Tom the optometrist is excellent and very thorough and I have 100% faith in him.”

“RINGWOOD BRANCH Never visited Scrivens before. From entering the branch the staff were very welcoming. The optometrist was great and made me feel at ease and then going back out to the front office all staff were helpful. Caroline encouraged me try on lots of different frames and we spend a nice relaxing time working out what my needs were. I ended up going for a completely different style and colour of frames with a branded varifocal lens to help with my lifestyle.”

“Went to the Cheadle store today 21/8/24 to pick up my glasses woman behind the counter was miserable I felt like I was disturbing her she wasn't welcoming at all and when I said I still couldn't read properly or focus with new glass she sighed and said we'll give it a week , wouldn't mind but these glasses have cost me over £220 not a great service, I will give it a week and hopefully I will see a different person who actually wants to deal with me without it being a problem 😕”
