“Very friendly and professional service. I wanted an adjustment to my prescription after my new glasses had been delivered. This was no problem and after a further sight test a new lens was fitted free of charge. Very pleased with them now and happy to recommend.”

“Staff in the main shop were very friendly, polite and efficient, and as this was my very first eye test, made me feel quite relaxed. However as this was my first eye test, I could have done with some more explanation on each part of the actual eye test, so I fully understood what each part was for. Some parts of the test where I had to make a choice seemed to be hurried through.”

“Having been a customer for a number of years I do not have a problem with customer service or the eye testing service BUT the quality of glasses/ glass cases are somewhat inferior. At the moment my glasses are only one year old yet on numerous occasions the glass lens have fallen out, or the arm has become loose. Cases seem to fall apart or do not lock after a short period and this has occurred many times over the years!”

“I was very pleased with my new specs - BUT was surprised that there was no discount allowed for oaps. Before I moved from Woodbridge to Harwich, my eyes were looked after by Specsavers for at least 15 years and both they and Boots offer 25% and you get 2 prs plus lenses for £75 for people over 60 years old. So your price was very high but, I have no choice but to continue with Scrivens as it would be a 90 mile round trip to continue to visit Specsavers in and not a lot less if I go to Colchester or Felixstowe. Your service and staff were very good. Thank you, Gillian Kerridge.”

“At first, when I received my Gucci glasses they came with the wrong lenses. I needed reading lenses and was given long distance lenses which was just like looking through plane glass. These were returned and I received my glasses back with the correct lenses in. I was very happy with my glasses. Unfortunately the material covering the arms started to fray within the first month. The glasses were returned again and a new pair was arranged. However, on receipt of the glasses it was discovered that again the material was flawed and had already started to lift slightly. So and As a consequence of this the glasses were returned yet again and I had to choose another pair of a completely different design. So far, these have been great. Only problem was that I had to have a sunglasses case to keep them in, as the original case was too small. This is a minor problem, I'll just have to use a bigger handbag.! This was the very first time I had been to Scriveners and had the staff in my local branch not been so helpful and concerned, I think I would have given up and asked for my money back. I believe that the material used on my original choice of Gucci glasses was not fit for purpose, especially for a high end designer brand. I cannot fault the staff, after the wrong lenses arriving in the first place they were very apologetic and couldn't do enough to help. The subsequent problem with the design fault definitely didn't help but they're continued efforts to overcome this was to their credit. The excellent customer service of all the staff in my local Gosport shop, most definitely requires recognition.”

“I made a very expensive purchase of Gucci glasses but the store were unable to give me a Gucci case - this was very disappointing. Being given the shop banded case is NOT the same!!! I hope this is rectified!!!!”
