“Whilst the data on my disk was not easily recoverable, R3 were clear about the potential further work that could be taken, and the costs. As the disk content was not critical I declined; they thus lost on the deal. I'd not hesitate to use the service in the future”

Hi Sam I am sorry we could not help in your case, there were two factors, failed heads and some platter damage and worse a relatively rare version of a Western Digital WD20EARX-00MMMB0 Although we have dozens of similar models in stock, the correct revision could only be found on eBay at the time it is was needed and the sellers had also realised it was a low production run version which will take time to come into the data recovery parts system. “I suppose there will always be some data that is not recoverable, however.......we had our money back as the data recovered was unusable and the files could not be opened, let alone used. So my experience is a distinctly poor one!”

Many thanks for the review Martin It does help to identify situations where even the very best data recovery engineers and service can fall foul of a situation which is a truly terrible situation for you- Namely overwriting your business critical data and not backing up emails. I am sorry you did not recognise our attempts to assist and that our company did the work free of charge trying to help you. When speaking to the customer he was not fully sure whether or not he had written over the data on the internal hard drive. data seemed to be lost after upgrading to windows 10. we had told them that if they have accidently wrote over the old data then we may not be able to get it back so that they are aware but told them to send in for the free assessment anyway. A recovery was undertaken and it produced a quality of just 47.12% 12.7GB which was accepted. The client accepted the file list and paid the invoice and testing the data himself then complaining that the results were not good enough when we had already advised that it was a low quality result. Sadly we cannot help everyone and we are also distinctly saddened that even in our trying to help, only the negative aspect of the result is focused on. Dear Badr Your original contact was in Early 2015 and at that time we gave an accurate cost of recovery which we stuck to almost a year later in 2016. Your QNAP RAID 5 failed with 3.7TB of data due to 2 failed Disks. We were successful in recovering over 99% of the 3.7TB in perfect condition at the price quoted from the outset. Any communications issues with International transport and customs is regrettable and an aspect of the company which we are working on continually to match our unrivalled cost effective data recovery success rates. Our Electronics specialists correctly matched and reprogrammed a donor PCB with information from your PCB to enable proper communication with the heads. “I run a small IT support company in London and I have had several clients who have needed professional data recovery. When I first approached R3 data recovery I had a portable hard drive that wouldn’t start up. I called up and spoke with Andy, who was extremely helpful. He went through all options and possible outcomes with me. He then arranged a courier to pick up the hard drive. A few days later I got an email with the file list everything that could be recovered and the recovery price, asking me if I would like to go ahead. I did, and everything came back by courier well packaged, in full working order, on a new hard drive as promised! Glad we could be of service. When a memory stick asks to be formatted it is often a controller fault or corruption of the file system, this can also be as a result of bad sectors. Once we had gained access to the memory and created an image all data was recovered successfully. The file list and integrity report showed over 99% of the data was intact and even the few damaged pictures were editable. These were all returned by secure download. Many thanks for the Review, In this case it we provided an emergency recovery and restoration of an iMac in London. We arranged a dedicated driver to collect and return the iMac and recovered the degraded drive to a new drive which was made into a bootable clone. This enabled Harriet to not risk her system in the normal courier service and for the R3 Team to handle the entire disaster without risk to the drive or the system. We have also referred a partner support company to assist with setting up Apple Time Machine backups and future support. Many thanks for the review. Despite a long and busy life your Hitachi Desktop drive failed after 6 years of continuous use. Our lab carries stock of donor parts and our engineers are the best in the business. Despite a head crash and bad sectors the quality of the recovery speaks for itself 99.98% 218.6GB and within the budget quoted at the outset. Many thanks for the review Scott, As is often the case all that is shiny is not necessarily gold, and when told your hard drive could not be recovered you did well to select a true Seagate data recovery specialist. Our team of engineers have recovered many Seagate drives declared unrecoverable by UK and European labs and we are used as an escalation route for some of the most severely damaged and degraded drives which other labs and data recovery experts do not have the time or resources to handle. However this expertise, experience and the resources of the R3 Data Recovery Hospital based at Security House in Sheffield does come at a what appears on first glance to be a premium price. In reality we are cost effective and realistic about the cost of carrying our data recovery at the highest success rates and most economical cost. Many thanks for the review Hazel The WD Passport is generally a very reliable drive but as with any storage device it can become inaccessible due to physical damage or electrical interference / electronic failure due to power fluctuations on the computer they are connected to. This was another full recovery with the data quality 99.69% with 309GB in total transferred to a new portable drive and sent back at the price quoted at the outset. Unfortunately even a nearly new drive can fail if it is subjected to external interference beyond its design parameters. But WD drives are generally better quality and providing they are not subjected to software recoveries after a drop or knock, they will be fully recovered by the team at R3 Data Recovery. “They literally came to the rescue! Hard drive failed on the Friday before August bank holiday, our magazine had a deadline for 31st August. Hi Andy and the Disorder Team Keep up the good work, glad we could assist. Despite the travel distance and London being a city full of London Data Recovery Labs - when it comes to data recovery R3 are actually more cost effective and successful in recovering data from dropped hard drives. Our emergency courier collection service and data recovery cost is still actually a lower overall cost thanks to our higher success rates and investment in engineers and equipment, and economy of scale of operation. Despite a scratch at the start of the platter the drive was fully recovered and over 80GB of video and post production project files uploaded for fast availability. Thank you for the review.
